The writers are bad. And now they go and crap on Arthas. Like the best written villain in the Warcraft universe reduced to a fart where Sylvanas says he's pathetic and will be forgotten.
I don't understand these comments that Bliz shit on Arthas. Yes he was the best villian, but he was a monster, he didn't deserve to be redeemed. He tortured those looking at the remaining shard of his soul. He deserved nothing less than to fade from existence. It was a sad and poignant moment which I thought was conveyed very well. Did people want to bring him back like the Emperor from Star Wars Ep9? That was garbage.
To think Arthas was here all this time. I had always hoped we'd see him again, as a Raid Boss maybe either it's fighting him to the death or rescuing his Soul. But it seems he suffered a grim fate worse then death.
I believe we technically do - as apart of Anduin’s boss fight in Sepulcher of the First Ones raid, there is a phase where Anduin will no longer take damage and instead a ghostly version of Arthas will appear with his abilities mirroring the same as ICC.

Although I think Blizzard didn’t want to bring Arthas back in a concrete sense because of the weight that character holds, perhaps they didn’t know of a way to bring him back into SL in a way that appeases all the players who love his character and lore. I’m just glad we have something in the way of his appearance in the Anduin boss fight and the cinematic with his soul in Anduin’s mourneblade.

Tbh what infuriates me most is how Uther and Jaina feel guiltless about his downfall and didn't say anything even. Jaina and Uther are the one who left him behind when he needed them the most. And especially Jaina specifically knows about the Plague. They just left Arthas to rot. Not giving him councel and anything towards him.
Not going to lie, despite all the crap story in Shadowlands, this is a fitting end to Arthas Menethil. Darkness took his heart well before he ever touched frostmourn. There's little sympathy for him, only pitty, as he fades to true nothingness, putting him, as a character, to rest forever.
@@MichaelB769 There's literally dozens upon dozens of people who've gone into great depth for how BFA & Shadowlands should have gone, and they've done it all for free and on their own time. Not only do they make much more sense as a narrative, but it respects the lore & established characters. The fact people have actually been paid to come up with the absolute shit plothole-ridden story that WoW has become, is a testament to how creatively bankrupt Blizz has become.
