How exactly did the springs change the feel of the already amazing nismo suspension? I heard it can possibly make it worse… -thinking of doing this but I’m just not sure any insight thanks!
I still don't understand the marking on struts and top hat. Can you go into details with that? Are you supposed to align the top and the bottom when putting it back? Thanks
so with your struts, when you put your spring back on you have to have it aligned in the grove at the bottom of the shock tower, but at the top of the shock tower where that hat goes on it doesn't have to go into that notch that it created from having the factory spring on the car for so long. the reason for that is because that the new spring you use is from a different company and its going to be different then your OEM spring so it will not work where the factory spring sat. now the markings that I made with the pen before I took the strut assembly off are to make sure that when you take the strut apart and put it back together and put it in the car your bottom bolt and your three top bolts all line up exactly where there suppose to be because if they don't line up your strut will not go back in. I hope that made sense.
@@MrAmber703 so when the strut is mounted to your car and you mark your strut before you ever take it off, when you put it back together where the markings line up again it will go into your car exactly how it should. if you don't do it that way the strut will be twisted and it will not go back into your car easily if at all because the holes will not line up.
@@MrAmber703 as tight as I could. when you get your whole strut assembly back in the car you can always tighten it more if you need to because it will be held in place.
I haven't aligned it yet but I'm sure you could get close because you have 1 degree of camber in ether direction with the stock setup. I'm actually putting on aftermarket camber arms on in a day or two.
What’s the difference in ride now? I know we pay more for the nismo suspension so I’m hoping it’s as good or better in corners. I was thinking about getting these same ones too.
Its a little bit stiffer and does feel a lot better in corners and just overall driving around. Its also not harsh ether for like daily driving. Its pretty perfect especially that it does lower your car but not to the extent of it now rubbing all the time or bottoming out on speed bumps. I highly recommend it.
Looks good man. I thought about lowering but after the 20mm spacers there is no need and i want to keep the ride rather higher due to roads here. But if i ever switch i would go a bit softer, not harder lol ... i am not planing to track and i would definitely appreciate more comfortable ride here on PA roads. I am tramlining here like crazy and it sucks...gona have to do something about it ;-) Do some power runs...i am planing to do some 0-60 runs soon just to see if the upgrades did some effect...my FI 12" coming in two weeks....can't wait...
Thanks man! Yeah my roads here are quite nice so I don't have to worry about that problem. I can still go over speed bumps straight which is good and I have no rubbing! I will say these springs are actually still really comfortable and are just a tad bit stiffer so its perfect for me as i didn't want it to be overly stiff ether. I definitely want to do some and get that v-box I think its called so I can record my times. Yeah that's for sure exciting and your car is gonna sound good with it on to!
Hey I'm about to pull the trigger on these for my Nismo. Were the rear camber arms and toe bolts enough to get the alignment back into spec? Or did you need to get upper control arms as well?
I think if I remember correctly is that it was kinda close. In the rear you will only have a toe adjustment so if you just get camber arms you can get back into spec.
@@jakesscc9184 Thanks man I was going to get KWV1s but since I'm about to buy a house and my tires got slashed last weekend. I think the swifts will do what I want and not break the bank.
Great video man, i plan on installing my Swift’s tomorrow! I know you explained it in another comment but I’m still super confused as to what exactly you’re marking?
Thank you! I'm basically marking where the spring sits on the strut and the top hats orientation so when I take it off and put the aftermarket spring on it goes back exactly where the OEM spring sat with the top hat orientated in the exact same position it was from the factory!
@@Tom-sx6yl so both the top and bottom hat should be in the exact same position with the new spring installed as it was with the factory spring on previously. if you don't put it on how it was with the factory spring the 3 studs at the top of the strut will not align with the three holes at the top of the strut tower.
Jake's SCC hey man did you have any problem breaking the top strut bolt loose while the strut is still on the car? I’m trying to break mine loose but the nut and bolt are both spinning
You should've checked the height change with the car parked in the position and in the same spot that you took the first measurements in.

@@jakesscc9184 You're saying that when you put it back the way it came at the exact same spots, then more likely putting it back on will be a breeze?

Were you able to get the alignment dialed in with stock camber

How are you liking the springs now?
They are awesome! definitely well worth it.
You scrape ? Is it drivable ? How much you got it for ? And where ?
How are the springs doing for you rn currently?
What year of nismo?
How are these holding up any issues? Did you have to get a camber kit? im thinking about getting them.
Please tell me what camera you are using to film this. Crystal Clear 2180p resolution
