I purchased this tent two weeks ago and used it for two nights. A very strong rain storm occurred the first night with very heavy rain and lightning. There was some fine misting felt during the storm but no leaks. Yes there is some condensation but in my experience with single wall tents not excessive. Staking it out was not intuitive. I did use a treking pole for the center support. For the record, I am 5`9" tall and have been backpacking for 50 years. My location is South Carolina. While the tent is not perfect, it fulfills my needs for a lightweight, economical and small packable shelter. Non of my gear was wet in the morning.
I agree with you guys. This one of those Luke trying to a serious review, a great service, but of a comical product. Luke needs some easy ones everyone and then.
I purchased this tent two mnths ago. I'm in the uk and we get plenty of rain. It is a great back packing tent. Yes it is a bit of a messed up design but it keeps me dry and I great for over night stays. It is a light weight tent and is a small compact tent which easily fits snuggly into your back pack. I have no complaints.
Randomly bought this off Temu and im pleasantly surprised to be honest. Other than the guy rope locations its actually not a bad tent. Got myself and 2 small dogs in. Im 5’10. Left it out overnight night in my garden knowing it was going to rain most of the night and to my surprise its bone dry inside. Scottish highlands, rains alot! Buy a foot print for it and its an ideal cheap light weight backpacking tent.
Oh Jeez! Looks like a piece of you know what. I make my own gear, hammocks and tarps. Thinking of my own trekking pole tarp tent. My first thought was this is what I would make if I didn't put any thought or design into it. Just winged it. Cause I have winged a few projects and this it what they come out looking like. Keep it up Luke. Great channel.
Points for originality. Idk what the people who designed it were thinking, but at least the English description had some effort into it. They even gave a questionably helpful explanation of how to reduce condensation, which doesn't bode well for the test video, but at least they tried.
That tent looks like it was made by someone who has never seen a tent and had one described to them over the phone in a language they're only semi fluent in.
I wanted to tell you thanks. You reviewed the mongar 2 purple tent. I was comfortable with your assessment so I purchased one. I have used it in the Arizona desert and on the AT in NC and I love it. I am a senior female that backpacks, hikes, and camps alone. The setups is easy and fast. The size is perfect for me and my two dogs. And I love the color. Thank you for your information on the product.
@@icequeen8504 I have had so many comments from people wanting to know if this was the tent that the gear review guy talked about! Luke certainly has a loyal following. I appreciate his No nonsense approach to product reviews. I may not agree with him on some of them but I will take his opinion into account.
Hi, I also purchased the Mongar 2 purple tent, based on Luke and Suzie reviews and I love mine too! My girlfriends also each bought the same tent and we call ourselves the Sisterhood of the Traveling Purple Tents! I might take mine to Norway but am presently testing the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 due to the weight factor. Anyway I love the purple tent the best out of all my tents!
I have a tent that looks a lot like this one. It's called the River Country Trekker Tent. It cost about $80 on Amazon. I have used it backpacking for 2 years now and have had no issues.
I bought this tent as a backup to my hammock tent. I agree it's more of a trekking poles bivy but that's why I bought it. The price is fair and the weight makes it a viable backup cover. I would rather sleep in this than under a tarp. More than likely I would have full screen open with my hammocks rainfly above it.
Lol... I remember my army 2 years service 40 years ago... no tent, no pad,... only tarp blanket,... no matter where we were desert, winter -20C, humid rainly forest... what doesn't kill you makes you stronger ;)
I have the 2 person version of this and it is a great tent so maybe I got lucky, I live in Oregon and a rainstorm came down on me and my wife and we didn't get wet at all, so far this tent has worked very well
Most single wall tents (no rainfly setup) will have interior condensation. I have a similar tent like that, but seems a better quality design and fit: the DD Tarp Tent. It also can have interior condensation...I bought it for specifically as a very light (2-lbs), single overnight use on fly fishing trips. It serves that purpose well.
Reminds me of this old South American, I think it was from Peru or Argentina, but it was a weird design tent that was like that. Some sort of isoceles triangle design and the thing was designed to be set up with the smallest space available. Never meant for Americans at all with our bigger frames. It was mainly used by miners and herders in the fields that set up camp between rocks and on ledges. My dad used it on our boat when he went out overnight.
Good luck testing that one out. If they just gave you a tarp with a ground fly it would be a great improvement. Thank you again for taking the time to test these kind of things out so I don’t have too. You have saved me a ton of time, money, and frustration.
I've used the River Country Products Trekker 1 tent, seam sealed it before I used it, and it was fine for several overnight trips on the AT. For the same price, it was better designed and quality. 2.5 pounds, not bad for 60 bucks.
The orange 2 person tent reminds me of my first tent when I was 14, from K-Mart, which was an A-frame plastic tent with a blue plastic floor, it had one small white mesh window at the back, it dripped water all night from condensation. I used sticks to hold it up, or two cheesy aluminum poles. LoL! Thanks for the review Luke, and a few giggles.
Outstanding AF Video I love your reviews...I will not buy any equipment that you do not recommend. Just got home from camping ... I used the One Tigres Collapsible Cot. Outstanding.
I bought a tent from a company similar to this one and tried to return it. I had to find out through pay pal how to do it. It would have had to be at my cost to send it to China with no guaranty of a refund so I kept it and pay pal also told me that companies like this get so many complaints that they frequently change the web address and name of the product so they can continue to sell it under the new name. They know that their product is garbage and they don't care. Cant wait to see the review. I gave my piece of garbage tent to my friend so his kids can use it as a fort. I think he finally took it to the landfill.
well luke i was thinking.... (it hurt a little) but i came up with a reason for this design. it is a multipurpose tent. it gives you the feeling of security while you sleep and you wake up refreshed like you just had a shower. then you drain all the water into your bottle and you have your drink for the day.
I'm happy with my tiny Naturehike 1P cycling tent but I'm always on the lookout for a more affordable trekking pole tent. Thank you for weeding out the weird ones.

I own the landshan 2 pro. It’s also a trekking pole tent. It’s a very popular tent budget tent. I’ve really enjoyed it. I would love to see what do you think of this tent and do a review of it.
Excellent video, thanks for the work you do. That tent looks like a bad lanshan 1. Luke I have a stealth camp planned soon that is mission impossible. Wish you were coming because I know I'd get away with it, as it is, we will see what happens! Stay well!

Too bad the designers and the company didn't bother to test out everything about this tent. SMH. Again, thank you for always sharing your explanations and thoughts. I think I would take my chances in walking 12 miles in heavy down pour back to my truck before considering camping in that tent on a chill warm summer night.
Get the 3f Lanshan Pro 1 person. Same style but far superior. Found it on par with my Zpacks duplex as far as condensation and waterproofness goes (but not overnight sag quite....still pretty good with Sil Poly rather than Sil Nylon.

Hello, great channel very informative. Have you ever seen or reviewed a Camppal one person tent. It's a one pole free standing with separate fly. I have had this for over a year now. Paid 35$ for it on Amazon. It has really surprised me how good this tent is for the price.
Luke you definitely get points for being as positive as you possibly can about a clearly woeful and poorly designed product. Nothing about this “tent” has any appeal at for a serious (or even a not-so-serious) camper. Good review!👍
Another thing you may have missed, if you have your sleeping bag in this tent, it can cover up the vent near your feet. Making the vent useless for its design.

Luke, when you do an overnight on this tent, go about 100 yards from the Tundra and have your escape plan to truck camp. Just leave it set up and write “FREE” on it after aborting the test. OMG what a hot mess this tent is.
Try adding sticks to raise the guylines so the tent body is pulled outward before being pulled down to the stake?? Agreed, looks like the River Country Trekker 1 tent (I have only seen pics). If it works, it's a disposable stealth camping tent. Leave it behind if you've gotta beat feet.
As you said that’s definitely more a bivvy. Think you could make a higher guide line with a smooth rock on the back side but run the risk ripping the tent. For $55 though I’ve seen so much worse on Amazon. I think generally speaking them no name brands on Amazon tend to be useless or just strange.
I wanna see how that looks after a few hours in a good heavy downpour. All of that wet sagging material will cave in around the lower edges even more, making the already small space even smaller.

But that one is twice the price if this one. Personally, I love trekking pole tents and a Lanshan 1 is always a good choise.
Man o man what work of something? The only thing I could say gather more poles/ sticks and tie out the tie out up and out with the extra poles, maybe that may work or not. The best would be get a better tent!
Looks like an inferior version of the "DD Hammocks super light tarp tent". I believe that DD Hammocks have a pretty decent reputation among outdoors folks as well. The DD Hammocks one will cost you twice as much, but I know where money would be going if I had to choose between the two during a bad night in the elements...
Fully agree with you, this truly was an inferior version. Owning DD Hammocks version it's fairly fun to see how bad this Underwood Aggregator was. Regardless, DD version is really functional in all regards, the air intake is so much better designed that rarely any condensation occur.
With it being as small as it is I would almost think it’s a tent for children. But with all the guidelines and stakeout points I would think it would almost be impossible for a kid to set up by themselves. Not really sure where they were going with this….
So kuiu designed something similar called the ultra star...I used it once... Once! The same issues you had with your tent I had with mine. I could not stay dry from the condensation build-up. Kuiu made junk and should have reimbursed me...they told me to sell it and try to get my money back. So pass this junk off to someone else... Kuiu you are fired!
Underwood Aggregator sounds like the name of a rock crusher rather than a tent, but they must have paid the right people at Amazon, this product comes up pretty quick when you search "hiking pole tent". Its a class of tent that I wouldn't mind seeing more of though, the concept itself is very interesting.
This tent looks a whole lot like the River Country Trekker1. And it has the same issues. The wall material will lay right on the floor at the foot end. And, like you, my feet and head did contact the walls on both ends. Needless to say, I do not use it anymore. Great in theory, just bad implementation. Thanks for the video!!
It would be cool to see a review of the BUSHNELL 1 PERSON ROAM SERIES Backpacking Tent. I believe it was made by Bushnell for Walmart a few years ago. I wouldn't normally recommend that anyone buy a tent from walmart but this one, being made by Bushnell, seems like it might be a decent lightweight option. They were selling for around $50 a few years ago but have gone up to around $120 now.
As a tarper I can use my cheap 10x15 tarp and a bug net with 2 trek poles and make a better tent than that. When I seen the pitch I was like "looks like it's pitched wrong" and nope its poor design.
LOL the fancier the name the worse the product...reminds me of when I was a kid and my uncle came home bragging that he'd just got a new motorbike, a 'Provencal Express Gran Tour' (it was something like that but definitely not that lol), so we all went out to find the most pitiful looking moped we'd ever seen :D

Thank you Luke for all of your reviews!! I don't like that tent at all,, actually I hate it! Very weird tent,, and I am sure it leaks badly.
we need you to get your hands on a Dan Durston tent to test out if you can get one
You need to run the guy lines up into a few trees 😂
You should be a gear designer! If I had an outdoor gear company, you would be working for me! Lol
I’ve never seen anything like that in my life????😅😂🤷♀️🤷♀️💖🙏❤️
It would be cool to see a review of the BUSHNELL 1 PERSON ROAM SERIES Backpacking Tent.
Looking at this tent reminds me of one name, “platypus”. This is the platypus of tents, it just is a bizarre thing…
its warm out the rainfall in the tent you can use to shower with and leave the thing on fire when you exit the campsite
Hey Luke you need to do an overnight Adventure with the Snugpak stratosphere bivy I want to know how you use one before I go out and buy a bivy
5:41 Glad I’m not the only one
I'm curious if you hang the top from a cord instead of using the trekking poll if it will improve the pitch. Either way a very strange design
At six foot two, I would have to curl up in thet thing with only 67 inches for length.
Hey Luke! Hope you are good brotha! Just wondering… would you be willing to do a review on some truck tents? Cheers friend!
As a tarper I can use my cheap 10x15 tarp and a bug net with 2 trek poles and make a better tent than that.
When I seen the pitch I was like "looks like it's pitched wrong" and nope its poor design.
But can you teach underwater basket weaving classes from this tent………asking for a friend
Thanks Luke! If you are in desperate need of shelter, maybe? But don't waste money on this dudd!
Underworld Aggravator.....straight from HELL !! No Thanks.....Cheers !!
Luke it needs a lot of work I would not. want some one to buy something like that tent
