      Please don't trivialize safety issues in Kenya is very serious. There is no way you can know risk matrix to high (16-25) unless you are expert. Remember police are not safety specialist and there is no safety management system developed in Kenya to date. We only have regulators in action which shouldn't be the case. Even you i believe you cannot differentiate role of regulators and safety management. Regulators are trying to do the work of safety management something that has put lives of Kenyans at high risk. Regulator responsibility is to enforce traffic rules. safety management their work is to increase human and equipment reliability. Which is not the case causing so many deaths of innocent Kenyans on our roads.

    With hindsight ofc boarding the bus after discovering a fault seems reckless but let's remember this bus was Coast bound. Ukishuka peke yako Kericho you have to foot that bill because hamna refund utapata. Wangeteta zaidi wakatae kuboard they might have gotten another bus, at the very least.
    Ni rahisi kulaumu walokumbwa na shida but in the moment wengi wetu would still have boarded that bus. Na ambaye angeshuka I'm sure safari ingeendelea tukimsema anaringa.

    Moko ditami pimo.
    When you know the vehicle has mechanical problems, why go ahead and board the same bus? If you didn't know now, that would be a different story. Blame would be squarely on the bus owner and the bus driver.
    People should honestly take charge of their own lives.
    The cops are not lying on the bed injured. I wish they could be the ones writhing in pain after the accident.

  • @safety4youlimited376
    @safety4youlimited376 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Honestly is not the work of police. However, there is a requirement in NTSA subsidiary act No 33 of 2012 section 5(d) that requires implementation of ISO 39001-2012 TRSMS to develop safety management as internal system to manage human and equipment reliability but there is no good will. Police and NTSA have limitations due to their legislation mandate as regulators, there responsibility is to enforce safety but not management. As safety specialist i feel so bad to see people dying when it can be prevented through implementation of the high level structure that has local legislations and international standards. The truth is accident shall continue happening because we have no one managing safety and no action is being taken to improve situation.

    I recall boarding Coast Bus in 2015 based on my childhood memories of Coast Bus. During the journey I noticed the condition of rhe bus wasn't what i would have imagined of such a storied company. Arm rests were missing or didnt have any to cushioning, some windows were missing and were taped over with polythene. I never boarded Coast Bus again. I am surprised they are still on the road. Kenyan passengers never seem to mind about condition of PSVs. Now I prefer boarding a vehicle to Nairobi then boarding from Nairobi to Mombasa. The Kenyan government doesn't seem to mind about road safety either. The last government that thought road safety was the Kibaki government. The ones after that rhat are always thinking about looting and winning the next election

      @@kadzo6614 there's no victim in this case, enablers is more like it. The Bus company is as guilty as the passengers and the cops who were alerted.
      There's a campaign of SIKIKA ROAD SAFETY that's been going on for years which is meant to especially ensure the safety of passengers. For crying out loud, 14 souls perished, they are not going home, 38 others injured and lying in hospital beds because the passengers on the bus could not unite to reject the poor service they were being given for the fare paid! Chelewa ufike. I speak from experience because I don't entertain mediocrity and I have disembarked from vehicles that I felt were a danger to my life.
