      @@RicerBenz You can stop the EGR from working without disconnecting the plug.
      The software says unplug it ... you can do it without
      I did so ..... it works great .... So when you want to restore the operation just rewrite the ECU with the original file.

    Wow a great job, well done - it's not an easy one for sure. Very common failure on the OM651 - that oil cooler has very thin chambers inside that do corrode through. This engine has a tendency to leak coolant from a couple of spots like the water pump and fuel filter housing and I wonder if topping up with water over time leads to corrosion and failure of the oil cooler later on. How many miles did yours have on it when the oil cooler went?
    A demanding job for a DIYer!

      @RicerBenz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am replacing the oil cooler + oil filter assembly right now, because of oil leaking at the O-Ring from the plastic filter housing to engine block.
      730.000 km with a lot of water topping up because of other repairs. But i used blue MB coolant fluid (here he fills up the red one) + "normal" heavy chalky tap water.
      The Oil cooler itself didn´t corrode yet (i plan to cut it open), and wasn´t clogged.
      I read that sometimes the water side of the cooler get´s clogged, resulting in high oil temperature --> less lubrication (no oil film) and oil pressure --> crankshaft/connecting rod bearings can get fused.
      I also install a plug (A0019905317) in the oil pump instead of the oil pressure regulation valve to deactivate the "economy" 2bar mode of the oil pump to set it permanently @max. power =5bar.
      Afaik the oil pressure is regulated by rpm < 2000 = 2bar, above 2000 rpm = 5 bar, no oil pressure sensor is in the system. With my worn out engine i think that´s a good 8€ investment.

      @@RicerBenz I did your same job ... I just replaced the set of gaskets of the cooling unit and oil filter holder.
      I ask you for information. How did you screw in both screws of the EGR tube, EGR side? I only managed the one at the top, the other at the bottom was too close to the bodywork, my hand couldn't fit.
      Do you have the solution? I don't need it at the moment because I closed the EGR.
      Closing the EGR valve only via software without disconnecting the plug is possible and I have photos of the inside of the intake manifold clean as new, remained so after 25.000 km of travel.

    Hi, I hope you will answer my question. I bought a 2008 C200 Kompressor with 124k km on the clock.
    The manual says this:
    The cooling system contains a lifetime supply which must be renewed after 15 years, or after 250, 000 km at the latest. Have the renewal confirmed in the Service Booklet.
    So my car was 15 yrs in January and has half less than 250k km.
    If I understand correctly I must drain out the old coolant and put 3,8l of new coolant with 50% mixture. Is that correct or is the manual referring to replacing the coolant system?(Which I doubt

    • @timb7775
      @timb7775 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Maintenance booklet says at 150,000 miles OR 15 years to "Replace Coolant". So basically drain, flush, and refill the coolant. My oil cooler happens to have a small oil leak, oil leaking down the front of the engine block, so im about to replace all the gaskets, change the coolant, change the oil, and replace the thermostat while I'm at it. Think I'll replace the upper radiator hose also

    Great clip, what did the cooler assembly cost? Have you removed the cooler from the rest of the assy? Just asking to hear if it was actually the cooler core that failed or as it’s most common the cooler seals, since there’s a higher pressure in the oil system it tends to push oil into the lower pressure cooling system.
