Krejcikova doesn't get the media attention, she never has the crowd support, and to top it off the chair umpire calls Sakkari's ball in when hawkeye showed it to be out, on MATCH POINT no less...and she still wins! She was born to play tennis -- one of the purest ball-strikers I've ever seen -- and if she was 5 years younger we'd all be talking about her as the future of tennis. What a rock-star.

As a huge Sakkari fan, i am gutted, mentally drained, empty inside....every negative emotion. But Congrats to Barbora, milestone win and she earned it. Both girls played their hearts out in the biggest match of their career (SO FAR).
BOTH saved match points , Both made some insane shots and won some insane points. I just wish Maria would have been able to serve it out when she had the chance...but you can't mentally train for this type of pressure. She will be back tho. Krejcikova handled that really well to not let it distract her. Unfortunately the umpire makes the final decision nothing can be done - she can only question his call but thankfully kept her focus and Sakkari made another error trying to go for a winner which landed just off the court again ! .But this time the umpire got it right. Sakkari then dropped a ball too short and Krejcikova was on it with a shot down the line to win the match.

Clay tournament's make a clear mark.....what should happen is it shouldn't be down to human error....if there are marks in a similar area....there is not a 100% chance for the ump to actually check the right mark. Where was Krejcikova all these years? One of the most cerebral players out there and has an all-around game, including a killer backhand and sublime net skills.
Sakkari plays great against power-player, deflecting the pace with interest. But Krejcikova mixed up things so well-- moonballing to the weaker Sakkari backhand, creating sharp angles, wrong-footing the Greek, and just not giving the pace (very Medvedv like, in her game style)

Perfectioning her game. Cerebral, she has always been, but she wasn't that good in hitting deep, flat balls close to the baseline, nor in changing pace and direction. Krejcikova is one of the rare women players who uses and understands the value of a good sliced backhand to defend herself but also to cause problems for power players to generate pace on a shot when they receive the slice. I really like the way she sometimes just goes for accuracy rather than power, she plays old school tennis with skill and calmness. Its going to be a mind battle between her and Pavlyuchenkova in the final, both are tactical and evaluate their opponents throughout the match and change their tactics during the match to win. I like both players but I hope Anastasia will win, I just hope her knee won't cause her problems because in one of her wins she said it was causing her some pain, I hope her body recovers from the tough schedule she has had, she had been playing doubles too.
