Happy Monday! Thanks for spending your time with us! I love that I get to make videos in tandem with my Mom! Be sure to check her videos out too. We've got a lot of house videos coming, so stay tuned! We wanted to get this up at the same time as my Mom's. Hope you guys have a wonderful day! Thank you again!
I love that your family is so resourceful. It’s genuinely nice to see in these times. I love how Ellie lights up cooking and all the food videos. Now if we could reach thru the screen and grab a bite haha.
This channel is so comforting for me. Been watching since high school (Im graduating college in a few days). I aspire to have a stable home like you guys have one day 💓
Freeze drying is absolutely WILD. These meals looked SO delicious and I can only imagine that the taste would be as well. This was such a fun video to watch and it makes me thrilled to see that this is something your whole family has enjoyed doing. I wonder how something like pulled pork would reconstitute? Thanks for sharing! 💛
Loved your video and look forward to more Freeze drying videos. I just freeze dried deli meat for sandwiches. I rolled them in 3 pieces enough for a sandwich and put them in the dryer. They are very delicate, but I put them in bottles. When I am ready to use them, I just put a little water in the bottle and have enough for 5 to7 sandwiches. It boggles my mind to be able to do some of this stuff. Wish I had that beautiful kitchen! You are blessed!
I watched your mom's video first and those beans your dad made looked so good. That soup looks so tasty and hearty! I'm so sad I was never able to get a hard copy of your cookbook, those noodles look so good as does every recipe you guys have shared over the years! Love your new kitchen Ellie! Sending love from Wilsonville Oregon ❤
This looks delicious! Freeze drying is such an amazing way to have food for your family whenever you need. I don't know if you follow Becky from Acre Homestead. She does a lot of meal prep and also freeze drying. I think you will like her channel a lot. She's really inspiring and telling you all the tips and tricks you need.
Ellie just crushed my dreams, I have been dying for your mom and dad to do chocolate chips. Looks so good! You can buy pasta drying racks that would help with the sticky ones
Italian noodle recipe 1 medium egg per every 100g of flour and some sea salt. I use a mix of OO flour and semolina. If you get the right amount of flour to egg ratio it won't be sticking! ❤️
Just found this video and I'm so glad that I did. Thank you for demonstrating the soup/stews. We ordered our dryer in November and it's arriving tomorrow, I'm so excited!
I may sound extra, but if you put a little scrap piece of material over the lid with a cute ribbon with a label.. that would be SO adorable. Awesome video Ellie!
I make pasta quite a bit, but I have only made pasta with just flour, salt, and eggs. I don't remember ever seeing pasta being made with water before, or this wet. Have you found this way to be easier? Tastier? I noticed that besides the stickiness it looked a bit easier to roll out. Is that the reason? EIther way, it looked delicious in the end. I love learning about cooking and freeze drying is such a mystery to me.
Love the video and the topic. Your enthusiasm is contagious. If I could ask a favor please: Would you please consider getting a personal microphone for use in your videos? your large beautiful kitchen gives an echo.
Ellie, Thank you for sharing. I just spoke to my husband and it looks like I will be starting this process in our home. Loved everything about this video. More please! How about freeze drying some single ingredients, like avocado. I would to see it reconstituted as well.
Making your noodles.....you can use a pasta maker or even better without a machine..after you have dough at desired thickness just roll the dough into a long roll. Then cut/slice into desired width of noodle and then unwind and let set for a while.
I’m curious about the texture of the vegetables, i.e., I quit freezing potatoes & carrots after I make a roast. I think they get kinda mushy, so I just eat them as leftovers from the fridge, & if I have extra meat, I freeze that with some of the broth.
I was just thinking about freeze-drying, and wanted to go find that last one that you did. But then I saw this! Watched the whole thing. Probably will watch again!
Hey Ellie, you said some of the vegetables get mushy after cooking. Could you partially cook some of it before feeze drying and then finish the cooking process later? Just wondering which way would work better?

Is the broth freeze dried with the coup contents or when it’s reconstituted the water will create the broth with the juices?
Ellie, u should save a can for each of of the soups for the kids for 20 years down the road lol

Flavor bonus!

I’m curious about dog treat/food recipes. You have the sweetest furry children, and I’m sure they’d love some homemade goodies 💕
Ellie can you make a everyday makeup routine video?
Sounds like a good idea!
Need to try this recipe. Really impressive results from your freeze dryer. Want to see more of this!

National center for food PRESERVATION
I have a noodle cutter. Makes it so easy!! Looks like a small pizza cutter with 5 or 6 small wheels.
I love your videos Ellie and Jared
Also adding..your hair has grown so much and you look so happy and just…radiant! Both of you really…just aging like a fine wine baby! 😎
100% agree🙂! Ellie looked sooooo truly happy and radiant 🥰… Wishing you a wonderful week ahead !

I use a pizza cutter to slice my noodles, really fast!
ahhh I want one! That looks like so much fun! The chicken noodle looks delicious too

Oh man.. now I need one
Pro tip. Cut your egg noodles with a pizza cutter! So easy. Hope this helps
Strawberries freeze dried are so yummy! Also we do chicken and salmon as treats for the Dog!

I did not know you were the Griffins daughter! But just from watching your video , I knew before you called your mom! You look so much like her!!
I was just thinking about freeze-drying, and wanted to go find that last one that you did. But then I saw this! Watched the whole thing. Probably will watch again!
Once there in jars when you rehydrate them how many people would it feed
Can you guys bring back the handstands? I’ve been watching you guys since Jackson was born!
A part of this that I was totally missed is that you are preserving meat without a refrigerator! And that in itself is really worth something
A pizza cutter is my favorite way to cut my noodles. Kids can have fun making all sorts of shapes! 🤍
Thanks for sharing this with us ♡
Rewatching this, and my 6 yr old is dancing to the background music.
The cool thing about this is you can get someone to cook you a meal and eat it when they’ve passed away - even serve their food at their funeral 🤯
Ellie is so pretty!! She is my favorite!!
Love the freeze drying videos & Ellie, I love your hair color!
This looks like so much fun!
Awesome video! If you cook your soups with purified water, it would taste even more amazing & healthier.
Awesome cooking vlog!! 🙌😋
Just got back to watching the video, and would an oven glove help when you are carrying the trays that your pre-froze to the the Freeze Dryer?
This would be so hopeless in Queensland, AUstralia. The humidity would just ruin the freeze-dried meals :(
You can store the freeze-dried food in a mylar bag with an oxygen absorber then heat seal it.
Hey Ellie, you said some of the vegetables get mushy after cooking. Could you partially cook some of it before feeze drying and then finish the cooking process later? Just wondering which way would work better?
Can you try to freeze-dry some grilled steaks?
Hey ellie...save time cutting the noodles and use a pizza cutter
Hi, how many hours did the freeze drying process take? Thx
Love it! 🥰 so cute! - Your kitchen is beautiful!! What are your tiles called? 🤩🤍
Looks great I'm going to have to look into one of those machines
That looks so good. I’ve been watching your freeze drying episodes. I want to start doing that too
I never thoughtvInwould ever have to say this but:
Potholders not only protect your hands from heat but also cold.
I love your food videos ✨
Your hands look soooo much like your mothers :)
What is Jackson's baptism blog I can't wait to see it
who else like ellie jared
A pizza cutter cuts noodles so easily too! Looks great!
I cut my noodles with a plastic pizza cutter and it works great.
Do you put salt in it before you freeze dry it or do you salt it when/after you cook it?
What size of freezer dryer do you have?
What?????? Ok this is cool! So I want to know what else you make!
love you guys.
Pizza cutter! :) it’ll help with the slicing
I’m going to FD the soups that I have already canned. So I can use up what I have.
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻 Would a pizza cutter work to cut the egg noddle?
You look so stunning Ellie!
Does the flavor stay in the soups without the broth? I am so intrigued!!!
Are you all going to do a full house tour?
I love this video but I was really distracted by the fact that you’re GLOWING? You look beautiful!
NOooooooooo!!!!
Where's your cutting board

Looks so delicious. I want to start doing that
Are freeze dryers really noisy I live in an apartment
i love my freeze drying food honey

Can you show the oxygen absorber? Or tell us where you got it and what it is. Thanks!
Have you ever tried making dog treats in the freeze dryer?
The video has an echo.
Hi Ellie and Jared.
Can you do a fruit salad
Looks good. Have you ever tried to make spinach noodles
You could save those egg whites for no waste.
When you cut your egg noodles next time try a pizza cutter it'll go a lot quicker than using that knife.
Why would you
WHATS IN ELLIES BELLY IS BACK!!!! 😍😍🥳🥳🥳🥳
Use a pizza cutter to cut your noodles. 😁
