I like how you guys do the jobs with car on jack stands and trolley jacks, stuff that us average guys have. Another fantastic video..well done guys.. :)
So.. my 740Li has the same symptoms - watched the video, bought the parts and hey presto - knackered flex joint and bearing.. Changed them out and now sweet as a nut! Cheers guys, saved me a lot of hassle (and money..!).
Also, just so everyone knows. The black rubber flex disk is called a "Giubo" (pronounced JOO-bo) and NOT a "Guibo" (GWEE-bo). The name originated from the name of the Italian engineer that designed it, Antonio Boschi. It is a combination of the Italian word for joint, Giunto, and his last name Boschi.
Thanks for the informative video, I noticed you guys installed 3 bolts for the flex disc to the drive shaft in wrong orientation. Thanks again and keep up the good work
These guys are great. I just replaced flexdisc and drive shaft carrier on 1994bmw530i. 181000miles. There is not a video out there on my car. If you want a run down on how to I would be happy to share.
Man that is soooo much harder than the Cayenne it's just there you don't have to remove anything. Now I am happy I didn't get a bmw! Nice video guys keep up the good work!
I love you channel man you have saved us so much money helping us diy’ers get the most out of our cars. I had a question and would love if you or anyone could answer this. I just replaced the hanger bearing and guibo on my 325i and for some reason I still have a small banging noise just before it shift to 2nd and a little on 3rd. It was way worst before I relaxed my blown up hanger bearing but it is still there. Do you think this might be coming from the transmission mounts. My dumb ass didn’t check them before I put everything back together. I am going to order them anyways just wanted to hear your thought. Thanks a bunch.
Love your videos!!! You make it look easy. Can you post one of removing and installing the Transmission? I have to change my Front Pump Seal. Ive never removed a Transmission and I'm very nervous about it. Thanks
another fantastic video..but can u tell me is it the same procedure for a 730d and is the flex disc in the front or near at the rear near differential..Thank-you.
I had my flex disc repalced on an F10- 550i Xdrive. However, even after the replacement, I have severe vibration when I cross 60mph. The independent shop tested the center bearing as well, which according to them was fine. Could it be a bad orientation of the flex disc? Because the car wasn't like this before the replacement. Any help would be appreciated.
of course, the guibo should oriente itself by arrows pointing to the three holes--each direction. continues to blow my mind that to be concerned with the universals one is told to get a new drive shaft! I remember changing plenty universals
Yours are always great, informative videos! So it doesn’t perpetuate further, I know it may seem minor but I just want it to be correct, the word is Giubo. From Wikipedia, among others: A giubo (JOO-boh); etymology: giunto Boschi, "Boschi joint"), also known as a flex disc, and sometimes misspelled as guibo, is a flexible coupling used to transmit rotational torque between the drive shaft and the companion flange on mechanical devices, such as an automobile engine.
Great video but you didn't show how exactly you removed the nuts connecting the exhaust to the catalytic converter, I went to do mine and that stopped me right in my track, the bolts were rusted to shit
My 2004 BMW 745li with 165.000 miles I got shaking seem as it coming from the rear of the car so I installed the flex dish, the support baring, the right rear wheel baring after doing all of this the car still shaking and wobble can any one tell me what else can cause the problem, note I didn’t change the left rear baring because it seem to be ok. Need help please
Make sure your rear tires are 35 psi cold or if you are topping off your air and have been driving for a while, the hot rear tire pressure should be around 38 to 40psi. Also verify your camber is around -1.5 on each wheel.

Your Oklahoma accent is terrific

What were the symptoms before.

man neither of those pronunciations sound particularly PC

Yes, the arrows on the disc should always point to the flange. Please correct this or your disc will tear soon :(
Great video! When you took off muffler where 4 bolts connect it to the cats, did you have gasket between those two, muffler and cats? Thanks!
This here is definitly the best explanation/example on youtube how to remove driveshaft from bmw !!!
Thank You !!!
Great Video bro....Thank you Always.
Please wear a plastic shield for eyes and protect your face brother.
does this joint affect transmission… can a transmission fault be due to joint malfunction
definitely the engine codes cant tell the exact point of failure but where the failure is seen first
the old bearing trick, thats a new one, be using this tommorow, cheers

Great job!!..Quick question’ My horn and alarm isn’t working is the relay under the hood and also how do I take off the E66 trunk handle

Great video, again. If the three nuts on the flex disc were 'lock nuts' they would need replacing with new ones or they could come loose.
You guys put it the work. And it's the average Joe way. Love. Keep it up!

Omer Rashid front between axle and gearbox
I'm missing the center bolt to open the driveshaft in too. Does anyone know where I may purchase one?
Great video. Thanks

what a nice video very informative. thats what i need so i can do the job my self
I have the same problem but it worked out to be a valve body issue if yours is a valve body issue I would give a company called Red Line a try
HELLO, on the guibo there are arrows to show how to connect it, I am not sure you did it correctly

Very good job. ...
what a good video
Great video but you didn't show how exactly you removed the nuts connecting the exhaust to the catalytic converter, I went to do mine and that stopped me right in my track, the bolts were rusted to shit
I ended up having to use a cutting disk on them. Going to have to grind everything down off the car. Heat up whats left and tap em out.
hello how long was the entire job take
Nice job 👍🏻
Hello, could you tell me what mileage was this BMW?
Semen & Ko 148,000
If you don’t mark the drive shaft and you have it out of balance what do you do to fix it
B Terminator you have to find the specialists who are able to balance it.
This is what happened to me yesterday the guy never marked it he just took it off and put it back on now it's actually worst than before.
Thank you
