Big Shout Out to David C. Anderson - I just wanted to say that I love to watch your Knife Center Videos! You are a PRO and Knife Center is blessed to have you on their team! I have quite a substantial knife collection, and I appreciate your in-depth knowledge of knives as well as your quick wit - very informative and entertaining at the same time. I enjoy the 'improv banter' between you and Thomas in the background. Shout Out to Thomas as well! DCA - I've watched so many of your videos, I feel like I know you and want to say that you are a cool guy and I value your opinions and analysis of the various knives you present. God bless you bro! Sincerely, Steve Bates
540 dollars pre tax for the benchmade narrows is absolutely insane and should be boycott. This should not set the standard for knives price wise especially for these materials
The Narrows is at least $300 overpriced. I recently bought a Pro-Tech Malibu in Magnacut for $225. Never buying a Benchmade again, they have lost their damn minds.
Thanks Mr. Andersen. I'm quite smitten with these Eutektik designs! I love a lot of Liong Mah's designs, but his work is usually WAY outside my budget. I'm really, really glad to see this.
Everyone is so fed up with Benchmade at this point They must have the highest profit margins out of every company, even US manufacturers can keep the prices reasonable The DLC blade does look nice tho But at that price Magnacut or s35VN should be the options Not 20cv And it should still only be around 400-425$
Hey David good job on the tango specifically the sherpsfoot. Can you recommend a small fixed sherpsfoot for lightweight camp cooking please as this one is more of an all-rounder? Thank you.
I'm definitely getting a Pocket Tango, just can't decide which one. Maybe a couple. Anyway. Mr. Anderson, when you design a knife, do you at some point make a prototype from wood or similar to see how it feels in hand? Also, what does the C in DCA stand for? Lastly, so good to have you back behind the camera, Thomas. Your work is solid AF.
I feel like thr tango nessmuk would be a great hunting knife...great for gutting whitetail and small game and waterfowl...thats what i hunt in michigan..but i like that knife DCA nicely done! Would like a kydex sheath option for the hunting aspect of things!
Greetings DCA and Company. I am a huge fan of karambits and I believe I would have a lot of use for one, however I am not a fan of overbuilt karambits. The flash of a fancy one I believe would draw too much attention. Is there a good, simple option that is a folder? I know about the CRKT Provoke, however, I would like to stick around the $50-$60 price point as I beat up my knives and I don't want to feel bad if it breaks. thanks in advance.
The price is, well, the price . . . and I would not pay that for it. If all you are going to use it for is opening envelopes or an occasional box, the Narrows would be fine (very expensive but fine.) Any moderate or heavy box breaking down will s u c k, it is the most uncomfortable knife I have ever held. I see it as an exercise in 'look what we can do' and not an attempt to make a really usable knife.
@freestatefellow value is placed by the person buying the knife (or anything else for that matter). CRK can do some work. I love my inkosi, but not sure if people would think the money I paid for it is justified.
I am absolutely enamored by the pocket tango including the MKM pocket sheath. That being said, I can't afford the magnacut price tag. Any chance they'll come out with a less-pricey option?
That PF Terra also comes in micarta as well as G10 for the same price if that's more to someone's liking. I didn't check the website though, they may have only ordered the G10 SKUs for some reason.
DCA! And RTT! (Reverse Tanto Thomas) I wonder about cleaning a Vision FG after food prep. Larrin Thomas' site gives Nitro V a 7.5 corrosion resistance. How does one go about daily washing such a food prep folding knife? How much attention would you give it to blowing out the pivot/lubricating it with food oil after cleaning to avoid corrosion in the pivot? I want to use soap and water like I do with my LC200N Spyderco Salt knives, and not have it corrode apart in the crevices eventually. Thanks, dudes!
Hello DCA, crew & community... can someone explain, why knifemakers do still clips with those sticking out screws? Is it really so much more expensive to hide them? It´s one of these small details, which makes it a no go for me.
The EFD is an awesome knife… I bought one from his website last month. Great knife in hand. Great heat treat that sharpens easily. I highly recommend the knife as an every day worker.
That petrified fish has a true Tanto point. The relief on the back gives relief on thrusting. Look from the top and see the thickness drops off from the point.
I said it before, but I don’t really need MagnaCut. If the Pocket Tango 3 were available in an affordable steel, I’d buy one to replace the small Buck Diamondback fixed blade I use for my lunch prep knife on the go. I love the design, but the price is well out of my range. Black Richlite scales might be cool, too; it would go well with my Richlite mini cutting board.
Sure is, although not terribly common since the lack of conventional detent makes it harder to make it have good action. That said, check out SOG with their various XR models (Terminus XR, SEAL XR, Pentagon XR, etc) for some good options. -DCA
Hey DCA. I love the Nesmuck version and going to get one. Having trouble choosing handle material. Having held them, do you have a favorite / recommendation?
Hey DCA I am a big fan of the content and congrats on the Pocket Tango it turned out great. At 24:42 you mentioned the Canadian Belt Knife shape and it had me searching around for some history on it. I would love to see a “Beat the Icon” episode on the classic Canadian Belt Knife from Grohmann compared to some newer alternatives like the Northern Hunter LTWK or this PF Rogue.
First time you don’t have the proper knowledge for your knife demos! EFD is a kind of a play on words for his more premium version and this one is everyday field duty! But me and my friends love your videos the best!
Got a new knife this week, the WE Eidolon. Absolutely in love with it, which is typical for me with any Justin Lundquist knife. Hes my favorite maker for sure. I remember last year Justin was working with another company to release a knife, but havent heard anything abut it recently. Anyone know whats going on with it?
Mr. Grey Bull: a little moisturizing soap e.g. Dove) and a soft paintbrush could gently clean under the nail folds without pushing them back. A helping of carrots two or three times a week in the meals would provide enough vitamin A to help heal the nail folds.
Question for DCA FAQ: Which of the three Pocket Tango blade shapes would you recommend as a dedicated tool to cut Amazon cardboard boxes into recycling size?
Re. TOPS (and ESEE), I'd like to get another hard-use fixed blade, but spending more than $200 for 1095 just feels weird when stuff like Magnacut exists. I get that the price premium is for American-made, but in the end the damn stuff has to be kept drier than a pharaoh's sandals or it goes straight back to the mud.
the mini drop of demko full customs was such a evil twist. since I've been refeshing the newly added page for the last three weeks looking for the ad20 whale sharks...
I used to be an "only Benchmade" fan boy, but im learning there are better options at better prices. Dont get me wrong, they make nice stuff, but the prices are ridiculous!!
thank you sir , what happen when the custum seize the knife is it ship back to the store and get your money back or they keep the knife and you loose your money ??
To be honest, pricing has made me lose interest in collecting,I’m fine with that. Used to be fun looking for interesting knives in the $100-200 range, very occasional $300 range. Now common knives seem to start at $350+, no thanks. Moving on to other interests. Just my take, to each his own. In some sense, how many better mouse traps can one design is what it feels like to me.
Uhhh $540?!? So like m390 from a dead unicorn and titanium from the sweat of angels right? That kind?? OK cool then that's totally worth it! I was thinking just the regular stuff. My mistake....
12:24 That Liong Mah T-1 would have been perfect as a top flipper instead of the over done flipper tab. And the tab wouldnt be sticking out the front when the blade is out. Big missed opportunity.

Thank you for the kind words sir! -DCA
Love the pocket tango but it needs a Kydex option. A “pocket“ knife like this works perfectly for a horizontal belt option
Agreed. I am hoping they come out with the Kydex sheath.
Kydex ftw, ulticlip compatible as well
540 dollars pre tax for the benchmade narrows is absolutely insane and should be boycott. This should not set the standard for knives price wise especially for these materials
so...boycott them by not buying their products lol. I am quite happy owning and using Leatherman and Mora knives. No need to get fancy.
I would never pay that. I honestly don't know who is buying them. For that price I can get a custom knife made the way I want it.
@@samueljlarsonI agree I love my mora knives.
The Narrows is at least $300 overpriced. I recently bought a Pro-Tech Malibu in Magnacut for $225. Never buying a Benchmade again, they have lost their damn minds.
@samueljlarson my leatherman sees the most use out of all of my knives
Thanks Mr. Andersen. I'm quite smitten with these Eutektik designs! I love a lot of Liong Mah's designs, but his work is usually WAY outside my budget. I'm really, really glad to see this.
It's fitting that DCA designed a reverse tanto..love it
The irony is so thick you could cut it with a .......knife?
@user-dz6ci9gy9b no but he is a sharp dude.
It was inevitable lol
Thank you Knife center for putting timestamps in the video so I can fast forward thru the BM narrows part! 😂
Everyone is so fed up with Benchmade at this point
They must have the highest profit margins out of every company, even US manufacturers can keep the prices reasonable
The DLC blade does look nice tho
But at that price
Magnacut or s35VN should be the options
Not 20cv
And it should still only be around 400-425$
I think checking which belt attachments work with these sheaths would be an excellent addition to these videos. Ulticlio/tek/G-lock etc
The narrows is an awesome lightweight carry. Modern marvel of knife making. Liong Mah keeps bringing the awesome and always has lefties covered.
Hey David good job on the tango specifically the sherpsfoot.

The price on the 748 Narrows Black DLC by Benchmade is, I think, not justified.
It's literal insanity
The price is, well, the price . . . and I would not pay that for it. If all you are going to use it for is opening envelopes or an occasional box, the Narrows would be fine (very expensive but fine.) @@Chris_Mackexactly, the handle doesn't look comfortable
Agree. I imagine some collectors might buy it, but it’s certainly not for me. Then again, I own a Sebenza, so maybe my “value” calibrations are off 😅

bought a Terra about a year ago. factory sharp was just ok. Love the handles and blade shape. great knife for that price.
I think that Benchmade is a really nice $100 knife.
The 1st Petrified Fish looks like a winner!
D2 OTF for $200 is crazy. I got my magnacut livewire for $210.
Congrat DCA on your cool knives. Cheers from Australia.
What about the tops backbite? Love to see that knife in a folder

Hello Thomas and DCA, hope you are well.
Maybe dumb question, is there such thing as a, crossbar locking, flipper knife.(has flipper tab)?
Sure is, although not terribly common since the lack of conventional detent makes it harder to make it have good action. That said, check out SOG with their various XR models (Terminus XR, SEAL XR, Pentagon XR, etc) for some good options. -DCA
Just got my pocket tango (newsletter of course) awesome knife
That reverse tanto meme early on in the video made me very audibly lol! 😂
good lookin pocket tango dude, congratz!
Congratulations on your MKM knife design! It looks great.
I have the Mikro 2. Can attest to those awesome MKM sheaths.
does the Petrified Fish Terra have a 90deg spine to scrape ferro rods?
No, but it wouldn't require much to mod it to that state -DCA
Drooling over the TOPS Armada 6.5.
I agree with filing the finger guard.
As always, Thomas was right. He is the reverse tanto specialist.
Hey DCA. I love the Nesmuck version and going to get one. Having trouble choosing handle material. Having held them, do you have a favorite / recommendation?
I thought you had a beavercraft on the thumbnail. I would like to have your opinion about one of them. The BSH4 for example.

Will the tango be available with brown sheath?
Any chance the DCA knives will come in horn (or bone) handles?
Looking to by my first Case XX. Should this be the one?

I was exited for the black hawk otf. But then he said near 200$ for d2? I can get a magna cut livewire for 230$.
Benchmade is trying to make themselves the Rolex of the knife world
Congrats on designing a knife DCA. Love the aesthetic.
That PF is a reverse tanto tanto
Any idea when the Manix 2 and Para 3 in magnacut will ship? Seems like I ordered years ago.

The Dawson knives one confuses me. Their 3V blade isn't coated but their Magnacut one is. Seems backwards.
Mr. Grey Bull: a little moisturizing soap e.g. Dove) and a soft paintbrush could gently clean under the nail folds without pushing them back.
A helping of carrots two or three times a week in the meals would provide enough vitamin A to help heal the nail folds.
Big ups DCA! Nuff respect bredren! 💪🏻💪🏻
Does anyone know what pocket knife Nessmuk showed?
Thomas for president!
DCA I'm super happy for you, seeing your baby here and in other web sites it is very very cool‼️‼️
Question for DCA FAQ: Which of the three Pocket Tango blade shapes would you recommend as a dedicated tool to cut Amazon cardboard boxes into recycling size?
Hey DCA it seems like that Pocket Tango would make a nice companion to a Nordsmith Canteen! (that's a hint, please?)
With those insane prices, it’s time start making knifes from old rusty files…
Re. TOPS (and ESEE), I'd like to get another hard-use fixed blade, but spending more than $200 for 1095 just feels weird when stuff like Magnacut exists. Nothing better than a nice slip joint Trapper with wood scales. Nice job Case! USA 🇺🇸 MADE TO BOOT!
DCA, excellent job on ur new knife! Definitely looking forward to adding one to my collection once I have some extra funds! 🤩
I like DCAs knives. Great work
Love the PF, and kershaws
Wich model of the pocket tango’s is best for EDC ?
Depends on what you are going to use it for, the reverse tanto is excellent for opening boxes, the neesmuk would be good for slicing and outdoor work.
@@davidgarrett5671 ok thank you i think you are right
Man I wish those Strider Pro-Tech's were bigger, I really want one but they're too small for me
I’d live to see a manual strider collab. Strider knives aren’t all that easy to get so a manual production knife would be cool
I would definitely buy it in a manual version
Thomas with with achievement hunter reference! Front flip for style!

I *need* one of each blade shape of the Pocket Tango
Pro tech switch looks cool. Shame, here in NJ you can carry a pistol but switchblades are illegal.
My olive wood MUCK should be in my hands tomorrow!👍
You know, Thomas was on something there when he said tan to
If there could be a tanto, then why can’t there be? A tantip

Is it the weekly dunk on benchmade time?!
That is any time he has a Benchmade product. They all come out of their mother’s basement.

There's no justifying the price on the Narrows.
