First time me hearing one of our race owning a Chinese restaurant..To see it run by Father and son..love to see parents teach their children about the restaurant biz.
Glad they're doing this. I'm from philly but I now live in south jersey willingboro. There is a Chinese owned soul food place called soulboat. Asian's cooking soul food, and it's a chain, they also have one in south philly too, relatives I found out. So this is a nice flip the script to them.

For anybody looking to order from here make sure you call first because the wait times are extremely long if you don’t order early and at a certain point they stop taking orders all together because of the high volume of orders. Would hate to hear about someone traveling far only to not be able to place an order

Theres a difference between saying wings vs chinese restaurant. thats like a chinese opening up a Nigerian restaurant. None of them chinese say "Soul food", it says donuts and fried chicken. But this store specifically says Chinese. LOL some of yall are real ignorant af and I aint even chinese. These people do the same thing white folks have done to them but do it to chinese, while saying its our right. Weird AF, straight colonalist behavior they copied to do it to others, never once have I seen a chinese open a straight 'bIack' restaurant. Fried chicken and Donuts and no one can claim chicken. If chinese folks put African or Soul Food or Somalian restaurant thats different, but I aint seen that yet.

I went today with my family! We live in North Jersey & took the trip. We got there at 2:15PM & there were about 3 people in line! By the time we ordered there was a line starting to form down the street! We ordered & had to wait over 1 hour for the Fusion Wings, General Tso's Chicken & Beef Fried Rice. It was delicious but I would call at least 1 hour before you arrive so you don't wait for a long time! I waited until I got back to Jersey to eat & it was still warm after the 90 minute trip back from Philly! I would definitely go here again but only if I was in Philly! Good luck to these Black Men with this business venture!

Black people usually love most other foods, Italian, Chinese and others. I always said why can't we open our own Pizza, Italian, and Chinese restaurants in our communities. We have great chef's our there that can make it happen. I applaud Halal Fusion Chinese restaurant taking it to another level. Now lets get someone to open a Black owed Pizzeria. Thanks J.L. for exposing this wonderful business. I love places that give the whole wing not chop it in half. Here in AZ they chop the wing in half and call it twelve pieces for the same 12 bucks.

I went there last week and the food was really good. My husband and I got the Shrimp w/ Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, Beef lo mein, Sweet Chill Wings, Fried Shrimp and a Shrimp roll, every thing was delicious and the service was professional 👍
I stopped eating Chinese food for 5yrs plus now.. If I was here, I'd DEFINITELY start back 💯💯 Black owned Chinese restaurant.. I'm from Miami and this is unheard of. Loving it

I've always said I never see any black owned, Chinese restaurants, pizza shops or Italian restaurants. I am not in Philly but I am super happy to see this.
There is also a black owned pizza shop not far from there, I am so proud of all these brothers

I just went there this weekend from Ohio. This spot was A-1. The fusion wings were phenomenal , the shrimp fired rice was seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be back.

Remember , what is Halal is almost Kosher too so not only the Muslim/Muslima, this restaurant serves the Jewish community ,who usually loves to have Chinese take out during Sabbath.
I can picture your son and his son franchising the brand all over the US coz who doesn't like that Orange Chicken and a side of egg roll. I live in North Philly too near Temple I'll find my way there for a bite in the near future.
People who keep kosher don’t eat Halal food.

Jewish tourists in china seek out halal restaurants if they are to keep kosher because there are sizable Muslim populations in Chinese cities that provide halal food. What is halal may not be kosher 100% of the time, read what I wrote, I said almost, but it's way better/kosher than a random restaurant that serve non-veg meals.

But, owners and chefs, when my man JL comes to your spot, don't stand over him when he's eating your food, because we want JL to give us an honest opinion about your restaurant... They nailed every aspect of it, and even explained very well what halal is! I am very excited to finally have Halal chinese food in the area and can't wait to try it out.

Today was their 2 year anniversary and I went for the first time today and the service was great and food was outstanding! Let him know I was there because jl told us this was a smash hit and the owner just smiled and said he appreciates the love! Experience was A1 and I am glad to support this business! WILL TRAVEL FROM PITTSBURGH AGAIN FOR THIS! GENERAL TSOS HIT SO HARD!! And it stayed hot and smoked almost 30 minutes driving down the turnpike It was crazy!!

So JL you posted this video nine months ago. I found it about two months ago. I went to Halal Fusion yesterday 10/28/21, after my schedule finally allowed. Let's just say it didn't disappoint. I got the orange chicken, the General.Tso's Chicken, the wings and fried rice, and the shrimp rolls. The food was so good. It stayed nice and hot and when I got home it was still very warm. I sampled a little of all the dishes and it was delicious. Perfectly balanced portions, it wasn't salty at all. The fried rice was very flavorful. This place is definitely a game changer.
This used to be a regular Chinese store which was on a decline over the years. These brothers gave this place an UPLIFT💯💯

I salute your brothers assalamualaikum!! There are two halal Chinese restaurants in Newark New Jersey and their called Amins Halal Chinese restaurant they've been in existence since 1990s.. I just mentioned this to let the brother know about their existence because he said he didn't know about any other Chinese Halal restaurant .. but I'm going to make sure my next trip to Philly I definitely got to support these brothers..

This isn't authentic Chinese food, but what matter is that the food looks bomb and a Black man with his son are contributing to society with their successful business.

"Chinese food" in America is never authentic. You can't ever find Crab Rangoon, General Tso's Chicken or Chop Suey in China. And Kung Pao Chicken in China is spicy hot since the key ingredient is Szechuan Chili Peppers.

I several reasons I would live to support Halal Fusion: local, Black-owned, Owner is a person of conscience, health and community oriented, quality ingredients, plus a more humane treatment of animals in the food chain than most other establishments.
