    Got to play a new 510e last weekend. What came to mind even before studying the specs was "Wow, this mid-range would be great for a acoustic solo gigs... it would be nice to sing with". Then I realized it's short scale, with Spurce top and Mahagony back and sides and low key ornamentation, It's clearly Taylor's answer to the Gibson J-45 "work horse" and a aim at the Singer-Songwriter market Gibson seems to dominate for certain genres.... Have to say it instantly became one of my favorite Taylor guitars. I'd love to own one.

    Acoustic guitars are the only guitars where as you spend more money, it's really obvious what you're paying for. I'd have never believed it myself before actually playing some expensive acoustics vs some very inexpensive ones. When Pete said he could feel it alive in his hands, that's exactly what I feel with my current acoustic. Almost sings itself.

    I have 510 from 1996. Picked it up a month ago. And holy cow that guitar sings. It growls in the lower register and are nice and clear in the higher register. Been trading/buying/selling guitars for a while now. But ended up with the taylor. Could not been happier. Gonna take this guitar too the grave.

    Wider grain indicates faster growth because as everyone know each ring is a year of life for a tree. So when the grain is wider that means it grew more in the same period of time. Thats why the really good old growth adi is so tight it was usually in a canopy getting less sunlight thus growing slower and denser. Love the little jam sessions you guys do cheers.

    Interesting how the 'pick type' reacts to the guitar. The difference is obvious for the 510e at the start of the video. Nice job!

    Could we have some PRS guitars on Guitar Paridiso? Don't think we've had any on this series yet and it seems they have some really cool new guitars out!

    I thoroughly enjoy these videos. They’re entertaining as well as informative!!! I have been playing an ibenez and a Washburn, which are both beautiful and nice sounding guitars... now I’m ready to upgrade... the Taylor is the guitar I am choosing. I am so excited! Thanks so much for these videos 💕

    If I played a lot of live gigs with acoustic guitar I'd definitely look at the high end Taylor's. But since my acoustic playing is done at home and at BBQ's etc with family and friends I just can't justify the price.
    Great guitars though. No question about that.

    Great example of the typical differences between mahogany and rosewood (back and sides).

    Thinking of buying a 1979 Taylor, a Lemon Grove model only 400 made that year this one is #1137 made overall by Bob Taylor himself! Not sure what it might sound like

  • @fredogknopfler
    @fredogknopfler 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The sound difference i feel is almost as if the 510 was a Single coil electric and the 810 a humbucker one. Sad that, I fell in love with the 810's sound.

    • @RRW276
      @RRW276 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the 510, even if it's price heavy. Definitely love a short scale, mahogany, dreadnought guitar and Taylor did a great job on that one. The warmth while maintaining clarity was clearly noticeable. The 810 sounded great as well... I would akin it to a humbucker too in that it's got big full, deep sound to it.

    • @fredogknopfler
      @fredogknopfler 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I like about the 810. It's like it hums the melody in your ear with a deep, warm voice. I've always prefered deeper guitar sounds.

      +Aidan Craig if you're referring to the brick wall background, they film in a house and they have two videos rooms, one with solid brown wall, and the this room. They trialled both and most people preferred the other room so they rarely use this room. Hope that helps

    Amazing opening jam! Mick, what capo is that? Looks like a capo + tuner or something maybe? Looked like there was a button being held down after it comes off the guitar and before it is put down. Anyone know?

    that little chord progression at 12:40 reminds me of a song from Rasmus Kellerman

  • @TheJipino
    @TheJipino 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What strikes me is that Mick always gets a more trebly tone and Pete a warmer one. To me, Pete makes it sound richer, but everyone has different ears and different preferences etc. If everyone played the same it would be boring anyway.
