Lowell George is amazing. He was everywhere when he was alive. He is definitely underrated. Those who know of him, know how great he is. God rest your soul my brotha!!!!
I saw hendrix, the doors, miles davis, leonard cohen, john lee hooker, free, pete brown and piblokto yusef lateef, larry coryell, bb king, dylan, the band, joni mitchell, sly and the family stone, xtc, talking heads, dire straits, shocks lu mania captain beefheart, etc etc etc and this is the best band I have ever seen live..... all the members of this band are gods of music
I've absolutely loved them for decades now! I’m only leaving a comment because I had clicked on a post on Facebook about ETs ( which I’m realllly into) and this is what came up 😲 I don’t listen to music nearly as much as I used to 🥺 but to hear one of my all time favorite songs, sure did start my day off right!!
I was living in Boston when this song came out. Loved LIttle Feat, bought this album, and I would dance to this song endlessly. Little did I know back then, that I would end up LIVING in Atlanta, which I am right now writing this.
Another one of the very, very few bands who were smokin' phenomenal live in concert. I'll take this over the studio cut anyday, and it's one of my favorites.
36 years and i'm not sick of it yet...boy, it was fun to go to a Little Feat show, you knew you were gonna get wasted and boogie your ass off! Ah, the good old days....
some of the best damn rockin boogie woogie i ever had and thats sayin somethin' bein a dj on. a commune in the 70's. Rest in Peace George you kicked it like no one..
I think Lowell George is the most underrated musician in the Modern Era..you listen to Little Feat and then to modern country music and tell me it Didn't start with Lowell and Little feat!!!
Great song, great video. I was lucky to see the Feat 3 times, 2 post-Lowell and they were always great. Billy Payne might be the best keyboardist I've seen live. Thanks for the upload.
I was lucky enough to see Little Feat with Bonnie Raitt as the opening act. It was an outdoor concert at a ball field in Virginia. When the boys came out, they said in unison, "We don't drink, we don't smoke, NOR FOLK, NOR FOLK, NOR FOLK. I never looked at Norfolk the same.
This is better than the studio version, imo. It's freer, looser, lighter. I always thought the overly strong background singing was a distraction. I'd like to know, though, who had that deep baritone/bass voice. Anyway, great rendition from my Atlanta homeboys.
When I saw The Radiators at the Middle East club in Cambridge I yelled out ""Play Little Feat" between tunes and they played "Oh, Atlanta" what a great show...
For almost five decade s I've been struck by the similarity in appearances and intensities of the late Lowell George, Bubba Free John (Franklin Jones), Dr. John, Orson Welles, and just the other day I saw the young George Thorogood has some of the look ("It Wasn't Me"). Got to see them all at least once except Welles and Thorogood. Young Pat Travers too. He has that wild look. And Stevie Ray. Some karmic thing?
Bill Payne always amazed me -- not with his playing (which was sensational, naturally), but with his wardrobe. He looks like a disco dancer who got kidnapped by a band of hippies!
@saywhatmachine ..........>>>>>>>>>>>>> he was never underrated.. ..just short lived. Me and mine enjoyed his slide and cried when he was gone. God love him, he was a genious but what a troubled soul. We would all be blessed if he were still with us.
Oh people, are you serious? Billy Powell of Skynyrd doesn't even get a mention when we are talking about great rock keyboardists? Love Bill Payne too, but come on, Billy Powell was certainly one of the great ones!
"...sitting here thinking 'bout a red-haired dream, if I could only see her tonight..." Agreed, Lowell George was never underrated, even way back when he started off with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. But the REAL secret weapon in the Feat's arsenal was/is Bill Payne (keyboards) and the Tower of Power horn section...Aii-yiee Who-Dat?
@inatizzy2 Bad Company did a different song called "Oh Atlanta" written by Mick Ralphs. Little Feat's "Oh Atlanta" was written by keyboardist Bill Payne.
@TheStampedehero Are you serious about Deep Purple not being in it? I know it's a screwed up situation there& all bands & artists mentioned by you SHOULD be/already been inducted. But Deep Purple.....along with Sabbath & argueably (some would argue not heavy metal) Led Zeppelin STARTED a new genre of music. There were others....but mainly those three. That late 60's early 70's stuff that they started evolved into what we all know as Heavy Metal. (imho) Can't believe the dumb shit the HOF decides!
No Band Like LF That bogus Rock Hall inducted Rap Crap. No Feat,George,Doobies,Los Lobos,Tower Of Power,Average White Band,Roomful of Blues,Ronnie Earl,Marc Bonilla, Spirit,Tommy CAstro, PR &Raiders,Deep Purple..etc.
Lowell George - Champion & Legend
Little Feat - The Best
Lowell, still one of the coolest and most creative cats holding down the groove
Cool tune.
To This Day.
Love the Live Waiting For Columbus.
One of thee... best live Albums ever IMHO

That's an impressive list, but I could not agree more my man, they were the absolute BEST live band ever !
Earth wind and fire here front row center san diego sports arena 1982/those brothers were sweeting on us
He was never underrated; he was a "musician's musician."
I've absolutely loved them for decades now! wow lowell george must be one of the most underrated musicians in music
"Keep on playing that down home beat"
A hundred- no a thousand years from now people will still be remembering this show. I 💘 history.
OMG! Lowell, always my favorite! The man could jam....
Lowell George.. Frickin fantastic!
I have not heard this great tune in forever! Super!
One of the greatest kick ass, down home, rock and roll bands ever....and still going...been lucky enough to see them many times live
36 years and i'm not sick of it yet...boy, it was fun to go to a Little Feat show, you knew you were gonna get wasted and boogie your ass off! Ah, the good old days....
I remember the first rockpalast-night in 1977 with rory gallagher, little feat and roger mcguinns thunderbirds...great
some of the best damn rockin boogie woogie i ever had and thats sayin somethin' bein a dj on. a commune in the 70's. Rest in Peace George you kicked it like no one..
I am from Atlanta. Discovered LIttle Feat as a college DJ back in the 70's. This should be Atlanta's Theme song....
Lowell George...one of the GOAT!!
Love me some Little Feat, Ritchie will be so missed
I think Lowell George is the most underrated musician in the Modern Era..you listen to Little Feat and then to modern country music and tell me it Didn't start with Lowell and Little feat!!!
THIS is TIGHT As Hell! GREAT SONG & PERFORMANCE, ALL AROUND!
Props to Bill Payne! Great piano boogie!
I can't believe how many people haven't heard of these guys. Been one of my favorites since '77. There's A LOT of incredible talent on that stage !
I can not begin to remember how many times I listened to this tune and how it and many other Feat tunes got me through college in the 70s.
Great song, great video. I was lucky to see the Feat 3 times, 2 post-Lowell and they were always great. Billy Payne might be the best keyboardist I've seen live. Thanks for the upload.
"Oh Atlanta" was written and sung by Little Feat's keyboard player, Bill Payne.
At that point in time, so much talent in one stage since Slim and Slam. God (or whatever it is) bless them all, especially Lowell, Richie and Paul.
Skin it Back is one of the best concert DVDs out there, of any band's
i saw these dudes live in the Wellington Town Hall way back and Lowell still got those white overalls on . COOL !
Wish I'd heard these guys at their peak in the 70s. That guitar player sure could play...
Saw them in 76 in ATL and 77 in Austin.❤❤❤❤❤❤
The first Little Feat song I heard on the radio fantastic
Probably the greatest live band ever.
What sweet slide.
Loved 'em then, love 'em now.
It always eventually comes right back to this mofuggin band right here.
"Oh Atlanta" was written and sung by Little Feat's keyboard player, Bill Payne.
Gotta love that "hit and run"!
What a great band......never duplicated...
I've seen em all & LF is my fav...
God bless Lowell George
This is better than the studio version, imo. It's freer, looser, lighter. I always thought the overly strong background singing was a distraction. I'd like to know, though, who had that deep baritone/bass voice. Anyway, great rendition from my Atlanta homeboys.
Amazing!
Happy B'day

so much feel
Anyone notice that the greatest piano players that ever lived were named Billy?
Billy Payne?
Billy Powell?
Nice little pattern to grow on!
"Oh Atlanta" was written and sung by Little Feat's keyboard player, Bill Payne.
Play it loud play it proud
play it again play it until i get sick of it GO LOWELL
Saw them twice once without . No comparison with 😢
Bill Payne always amazed me -- not with his playing (which was sensational, naturally), but with his wardrobe. He looks like a disco dancer who got kidnapped by a band of hippies!
Happy Birthday Bill Payne ! ! !
Best Sliders: 1. Mick Taylor 2. Lowell George 3. Gary Rossington.
OH YA - lovin it!
Lowell George was no doubt the center piece , but Paul Barrera could go toe-to toe with anyone. Both Cooool !
I wish I was on one
@TheFatpath
amen brother - top 5 of all time - no doubt
@saywhatmachine ..........>>>>>>>>>>>>> he was never underrated.. ..just short lived. Me and mine enjoyed his slide and cried when he was gone. God love him, he was a genious but what a troubled soul. We would all be blessed if he were still with us.

Double drummers fuck yeah

This has been my favorite song since & was embryo! My mom was guaranteed to get me to kick by playing this song!
Now that's FUNNY! Probably true....
"...sitting here thinking 'bout a red-haired dream, if I could only see her tonight..." WOW, AK2927...Neither had I, but all of a sudden, that trend w/southern rock bands to have 2 drummers makes PERFECT sense, doesn't it?
@inatizzy2 Bad Company did a different song called "Oh Atlanta" written by Mick Ralphs. Little Feat's "Oh Atlanta" was written by keyboardist Bill Payne.
❤️🎼
This tune is all Billy Payne.
RIP, Richie ... Now you're back with Lowell, who's probably been working out some Mothers stuff with Frank ...
Is that the legendary Dumble Overdrive Lowell is playing?
ALL RIGHT OR WHAT I STILL PUT THIS ON
Happy 64th Bill Payne
Lisner! Another DC alumni How about he Alexandria Roller Rink?

4 People were too stoned to hit the correct button
@louiseduvee
and who are you, that you know and saw all this?
@direwolfmusic yea i am aware of that lol
@ufofan1980 Billy Joel too...
These guys are not rock "stars".....they are musicians....and few did it better.
Never understood the need for 2 drummers.
@TheFatpath except for Grateful Dead!
@TheStampedehero Are you serious about Deep Purple not being in it? I know it's a screwed up situation there& all bands & artists mentioned by you SHOULD be/already been inducted. @doodoobrown74 They need a check up from the neck up. Grab their collective wrists and check for a pulse.
who's bad company ?
Bad Co does this but not BEAR as good!
This brings back some high school druggie memories, but I was never a big fan.
For my money, Leon Russell is as good as any of them.
Not in the hall of fame? Neither is deep Purple or Thin Lizzy.
@saywhatmachine erm............. no.
geez dude....its .not even the same song
No Band Like LF That bogus Rock Hall inducted Rap Crap. No Feat,George,Doobies,Los Lobos,Tower Of Power,Average White Band,Roomful of Blues,Ronnie Earl,Marc Bonilla, Spirit,Tommy CAstro, PR &Raiders,Deep Purple..etc.
Bad Company's song "Oh Atlanta" so totally smokes these guys, It's not even funny...
Probably the greatest live band ever.
