Is it really a "country song?" Lowell was a So-Cal boy who probably never drove a truck. There's no pedal steel guitar, a fiddle, a banjo, or a mandolin. It's more like a folk song other than the Floyd-Cramer-esque piano work. Oh well. The best loved Christmas song was penned by a Jewish man, and the trump guitars, etc. are made abroad.
@@OWR0406 Anyhoo, there's an fascinating demo by Robert Palmer, a bonus track from the reissue of his fine Pressure Drop album. As you know, Little Feat was his backing band for that and Lowell George actually makes a few flubs on the guitar
Wow what a blast from the past. Thank you. I loved Little Feat when I was younger and just didn't imagine seeing them so many years later on UTube. Thanks for this channel. I have enjoyed watching and walking down memory lane.
The best American band of the 1970s. Most rock critics who heard their albums and saw them in concert were mightily impressed, and said so in print, but these guys deserved far more commercial success than they received. Was a total absolute crime that none of their single releases in the 1970s made the Top 40 (actually, IIRC, I don't think any of their 70s singles even broke into the Hot 100).
I love this performance, and I love Little Feat. They were such amazing and versatile musicians. That bit when Lowell switches from his speaking voice to his singing voice, and then the harmonies kick in, is pure magic.
Yes.... this is back when they used microphones for acoustic guitars, before every acoustic guitar had a piezoelectric transducer pickup under the string saddle, which made them 1000 times easier for stage use, but sound like crap compared to a good mic. Probably a lot of people will argue against the piezo sounding bad, since they're pretty accustomed to it now, but in truth, convenience has won out over quality, as it often does.
Somewhere I’m still with my best friend wandering around Asheville NC in 2003 getting into mischief and hanging out at the Westville Pub, busking for tips and spinning this record. I’d give anything to go back for just one day.
They started a Warner Bros tour of the UK in the early 70s somewhere near the bottom of the bill because the UK promoters had never heard of them. By the end of the tour they were effectively top of the bill because none of the other acts on the tour would go on after them.
Boogie? That's not the song title. 👎 Edit - Okay, I see that they somehow mixed up two songs they played on the Sly Family Stones eps which were "Tripe Face Boogie" & "Willin' " .
Willin‘ is one of the greatest country songs of all times!
We lost a great one when Lowell passed.

Still my favorite band. (Lowell era)

Important channel - provides real history. Keep on!
Bravo - Another vastly underrated band...R.I.P. Lowell George and the rest
Wow! Flashback, and a good one. A favorite in the 70s and a favorite still. It’s been on my playlist for 50 years.
That acoustic guitar sounds SO heavenly! 😻 Dallas-Alice, Lowell’s voice is wonderful, too 🎉 and the piano. A PERFECT song… 😘 thank you!

So good it almost hurts to watch. Lowell at the top of his game the band one of the best. Wish there was much more of this.
Amazing performance!!! Beautiful voice
Thank you, great memories of their music. They're greatly missed ❤️❤️🎶🎶

What a great song.
Great hat!!!!
Always loved this song be it the Feat's original or Linda's cover.
ok, that was little feat`s brilliant "willin`"...now where`s the boogie?
Lowell George, gone too soon
❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤩🥰👍
That hat needs to be in RRHF 👏🏼👏🏼
who in his right mind could possibly care a flying fvck about the RRHF? I mean, even the name is so pretentious that we have to abbreviate it!

Jimmy Page's favorite American band in 72
Linda Rhonstadt loved Lowell
Nigel in Canada 🇨🇦
remind me of The BAND
Robbie, Levon, Denko
Also, still
He is a clone of Hikaru Nakamura
Lowell was reasonable not obese still. Bill Payne's sleeves are way too short. 'still a beautiful song.
