    A beautiful production!
I am sure the boxing scene would have amused Mr Handel.

Marvellous! Best production of this work on TH-cam. Sreten Manojlović is brilliant.

39:54 Wretched lovers is one of my favorite choruses from Händel and from music history. The counterpoint is sublime

Ending in an amazing double fugue. The theme Wretched lovers is written in quarter notes and half notes. The theme Behold the monster polypheme is written almost exclusively in 16th notes. The bass melisma at the end extends two pages.

nice to see that baroque music makes its way to Serbia ! only issue is sound taking, not optimal (the singers are somewhat not valorized), but overall the performance is excellent ! This the only opera that fills my heart when things are sad and my mind worn by sorrow...Haendel is THE Genius

If anyone is better than Mozart in inspired use of woodwinds, it might be Handel!

I'm performing this as Polypheme in my next semester of school! I'm very excited as this is my first Opera!
Streten's performance is so amazing and I want to try to to take inspiration from some of his acting. I'll see what happens when we get to the acting / staging parts of production, though

Odlično izvođenje ove najizvođenije Hendlove opere. Predlažem New Belgrade Opera and Predrag Gosta da izvedu isto tako vrhunsku pastoralnu operu Telemana " Pastorelle en Musique" (1712.) koja je danas nažalost potpuno zaboravljena.

forgoten in Serbia perhaps, but not elsewhere. I am happy that baroque musique made its way to serbia and is receiving some serious support, at last !

@@jakzatchin4269 And I; just for the sake of popularization, we have to follow the advice of a respected conductor Nicolaus Harnoncourt: "We all know how to learn a foreign language, and baroque music is a foreign language for us, because we are not baroque people. So we have to-just like in a foreign language -learn vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, i.e musical articulation, basics of harmony and rules governing caesuras and accents."

By the way is that the Kolarac concert hall where a scene of Kusturica's Underground movie was shot ? the scene where Petar Popara breaks in the theatre stage and eventually kills the german officer ? I was there this year on a rehursal of Beethoven's 9th symphony , the room has great acoustics.
