The zip.is not supposed to bulge at the back if you follow the shape you have there when fixing the zipper

i don't understand the back piece measurement from the hip so do you add 1.5 or minus 1.5?

You will add the 1.5 inch you minus from the front hip to the back hip. The 1 .5 will be added to the center back of the back block.
