    You helped me so much! I'm Brazilian and it's hard to make the patterns when the difference between my hips and waist is over 40cm!

    I’ve always taken the front and back measurements of the body separately. It’s pretty obvious that we have curves and the measurements shouldn’t be shared equally. That doesn’t make logical sense. Doing so is why most designers have fit issues and have to do several fittings. I get it right the first time so there’s no adjustments. Unless the person is flat all around, measuring separately is a must. This method has always been accurate for me. I use an allocation method for the bust, waist and hip.

      @@NonnysSpace1 Wow. Thank you for your response. I've explained this to others designers, they disagree and don't believe in this method. I realized some ppl are stuck in their ways as a designer and are scared to try something new. They are used to making adjustments or having several fittings. I take a lot of measurements to minimize that. From one designer to the next, keep doing an amazing job. I've learned a lot from your channel. My mantra as a designer is, If I'm doing my job correctly, there will be no issues throughout the designing process. I strive to be the best, learn new techniques and to get the perfect fit on the first try. I have been successful so far. I trust myself as an independent designer❤

      Is there any formula to get a perfect bust pan?
      Thank you Ma.

    Thank you for the tutorial, can this method apply to the bust measurement too, thank you.

    • @slrcouture
      @slrcouture 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It applies to bust as well. Our front bust and stomach is bigger than the back, unless the person is an A cup. I would recommend measuring the front and the back separately to get accurate measurements.

    I've just found you and I am interested in learning more about creating my own patterns. I am a very short but extremely curvy woman having a waist of 41 hips of 56 and Im only 4'11 tall. I've started sewing so my clothes can fit better but still there were no patterns that would allow for my curves. i guess if they added a large amount of ease in the pattern it would look a little better than off the rack clothing.
    I started it get confused when you stopped using the curve ruler and started to just draw curves. Can you explain in more detail. The back pattern with an zip is really confusing to me.
