I love how honest you are. Sometimes Lankan parents put too much stress on school children pushing young minds to the limits to do well in school. But the reality is regardless of school, hard work and determination can help you achieve your goals if you decide to work for it. 😊❤️
Well done Dilini! This is a very useful discussion for students who are planning to do their postgraduate studies (PhD) in Australia. Thank you for sharing your experience :)

There are only a limited number of scholarships for bachelor degrees (I.e., if you have 3As in local ALs, 3A* in Cambridge ALs) from foreign universities.
I suppose this is a bachelor degree. If so, yes once you can complete this and follow a masters in Data Science you can become a Data Scientist. Sometimes even a bachelor is enough to be categorized as a data scientist. However this requires you to either have a bachelors in computer science and data science specifically.
@@sitharasachila5172 yes, you can find jobs as a business analyst, data analyst, etc with this degree. However, make sure to learn a programming language (Java, python, SQL) as well part time. This will help your chances in finding a good job.
Also there are plenty of certification courses available online (Coursera, Udemy) related to data science, data mining, machine learning, big data, etc. you can follow these courses part time as well. This will add more value to your CV and knowledge.
පුලුවන්! Undergraduate (4 years) first class එකක් තියෙනවනං direct PhD එකකට apply කරන්න පුලුවන්. Offer එකක් ලැබෙනවද කියන එක තිරනය වෙන්නෙ GPA, research experience, publication record, strength of the PhD proposal, etc. මත.
It’s not compulsory. If you have a 4 year degree and good GPA (first or second upper) including publication record you might get accepted for a PhD directly after bachelors. But these conditions change from one university to another.
