Thank you for sharing systems beyond D&D. I have been playing Tabletop RPGs for over two decades, and D&D has been a staple of my life, but there are *so many* other systems are are just as good, if not better, especially at specialized roles! After more than a year as a Lancer...it is easily in my top 3 systems beyond D&D to play. The Lore is beyond rich, the game so fun, Comp-Con is the best tool! I made life long friends, and even though that campaign is over, those characters and the relationships we build together will never leave us!
If anyone's curious, our game is on pause, and is our "emergency replacement setting" when we can't move forward in our usual game. I'm currently LL7: Metal Mark II, Swallow Tail III and Vlad II. I use the Metal Mark Frame, the high end Swallow Tail NHP (Athena is *stupid good*) and the Vlad weapons and systems to run around the battle space with absurd movement and evasion, stopping NPCs in their tracks, to allow our hackers to either turn them to stone (as any Gorgon should) or chew them apart with the Hydra's Drone Nexus sets. All while providing our Artillery and Striker element the forward scouting they need. Love the build!
Good vedio, very informative one importent mistake: the rulebook says you get 3 and not 4 talents your vid is great otherwise and helped clear up character creation, keep up the good work
I come from a pathfinder medieval fantasy background. What would you recommend a new group of gm and players trying lancer as their first scifi system?
You get your first mech license at LL1. That is literally what License Level One means. Why would you think that you get your first mech at LL2? Also, each LL you get one point towards Mech skills, not 2. You may want to reread page 18 of the rulebook. There is also an easy chart on page 19.
LL0 gets you all of the GMS armory stuff. LL1 you do not have access to any non-EVEREST mech frames because of cost. At LL2 it is the first opportunity you get to get non-EVEREST frames. You always start with an EVEREST regardless and he was referring the the license cost separate from that. Also I don't know why being so rude is necessary.

I definitely need to play some more Lancer, it's so much fun. & The Comp-Con is way too good for a free resource lol
It took me far too long to realise that you weren't building a personal computer...
just found your channel from looking up lancer reviews and i’m a fan! you got a sub sir
I’ve got my first ever Lancer session tonight! Thanks for helping me get a grasp on the character creation process right before our session zero!
I also thought License Levels went towards the manufacturer in general and not just a specific mech! Thanks for the clarification.
I'm glad I'm not the only one lol
