  • Ok guys the time has come! I’m finally overhauling DUSTY! If you’re new to the channel Dusty is my 1994 XLT Ford Bronco that I bought off Craigslist sight unseen out of California. I flew from South Texas to the west coast to buy it not knowing if it was worth it really or not. I ended up driving it 2700 miles back home. Fast forward three years to 2024 I’m so stoked to announce I’ve partnered with Desolate Motorsports to bring this build vision to life. These guys are the definition of OBS EXPERTS. They have completely engineered everything necessary to help me take this stock bronco and turn it into the ULTIMATE ADVENTURE OBS. I intend on using this truck for years to come for things like taking my wife and daughter camping, ripping dunes, and eating whoops. I see it as becoming the multi-tool of builds. In this video I install The complete steering combo from Desolate Motorsports which comes with a remanufactured OEM ford steering box, a Borgeson HD steering shaft, Saginaw power steering pump retrofitted on a CAD designed laser cut bracket, and replacement HD tie rods. And the cherry on top a dash brace to eliminate that pesky OBS dash rattle. Below 👇🏻 is the 6 month build schedule! I invite you to stick around and watch this project come to life!

    You could not have started this series at a better time for me. I have a 92 and me and my son are doing it in phases getting ready to go exploring in it. A 92 was my first ride and I bought another one several years ago to have a nice hobby to do with my son.

      Right on! My daughter will be born on the next 9 days this truck is intended to be to the family adventurer. I’m hoping that one day she’ll say “my dad had this old bronco he’d take us camping in” I just got second pallet of parts so will be posted soon!

    Just got my suspension fixed and tie rod ends and steering box and pitman arm! Don’t need this kit and keep with the regular belt. But I am looking forward to the whole series of episodes on the overhaul
    Need help with vacuum lines and ac

      Next pallet of parts should show up next week! Thanks for sticking around to watch the build! Also the vacuum lines are definitely a common issue. Best bet is to pull off all the OEM plastic ones and replace with new rubber ones. (I did this back in 2021) 🤙🏻

    If you're going for 35's and I presume a decent size lift, why not wait and do a swing set style steering?

    • @ChaseGentry
      @ChaseGentry  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Because not every guy out there will be building prerunner capable broncos. I’ll be building in in phase from most mild to dune jumping thrasher. Showing most common fixes/upgrades first then progressively step up with the modularity of all of the desolate motors offerings x

    That TTB is just as bad as gm IFS to many moving parts but the TTB is worst the camber is never lined up when going over bumps or dips in the road

      TTB rocks when built right 🤷‍♂️

    • @MisfitOBS
      @MisfitOBS หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ChaseGentry 100%! The TTB is one of the most misunderstood front ends out there. When the geometry is set up properly, they are amazing! Camber and alignment are only a problem if the geo and lift are not talking to each other! Ima barf in my mouth next time someone tells me “you need to do a strait axle swap”… haha.
