“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. A screaming bird is silenced at last, In sticky red rain, her body is cast. My feathers fuse, I twitch a last time, I finally die without reason or rhyme.
My friends and I played this as a background music while playing DnD. During the quest, we fought a necromancer and then we found a secret place in a fortress where he had been doing some awful things. And that was exactly the moment this video started playing. It was the most atmospheric game I've played.
Just imagine, walking through an abandoned cityscape, just the wind howling and leaves rustling ever so gently on the streets. No one is left but you... all you carry is the memories of times gone. The sky, a dark gray, the sun, barely able to penetrate, casting a faint light. Alone, doesn't even begin to describe it.
You hear a noise somewhere in the distance. It sounded like a rustling noise, but it's too far away to distinguish it. You can't tell if its human or an animal. But, it could be a sign of life, or hope for help...or a trap. Do you go investigate? (Sorry, just trying to add on to it.)
I imagine myself in that scenario, writing in the middle of that gound, with my computer, doing this tortuous task that is a thesis... That image makes work so much bearable. Thank you.
One thing that comes to mind from the ambiance is: "What happened here?" The explorers search a city, once brimming with life and noise. The chaotic sounds of a bustling city, now with the cold silence of death washing over it. Terminals with images of what once was, a subtle hint in each as to what might've happened. Each contradicting the other. But with a hint of truth in each. The truth, being more terrifying than what surrounds them, a shadow out of the corner of their eye, stalking them. Playing with them, licking their maws in anticipation. As it ends, nothing. No monster, just more questions than answers.
Leaving works late at night was a terrible idea, it gets so dark and gloomy, Murky is the right word. The fog is making it very hard to breath until suddenly, a cold gust of air hit me hard.. everything silenced, no trees swooshing, not crickets singing.. I felt like I was dead, but mentally, is this what death feels like? Something then just caught my attention, a figure standing in front of me… all I could see clearly was it’s green in hue eyes… just wide open, I just stood there “frozen,” the cold wind made it feel literal… “It” walked.. or floated.. glided…? Towards me.. it got closer and closer… I felt a shiver down my spine… it was getting too close, but slowly… I had a chance to run away, but, I couldn’t… I became paralyzed but not by fear, but by curiosity.. what will it do…? What can it do…? Then it suddenly stopped.. it was an inch away from my face.. then it closed its eyes and went through me.. I felt like being in episodes of Macabre.. no one.. definitely no one will believe what I had just experienced. I was supposed to write a short story on a ghost confrontation and write about the experience.. Zamn.. it was a scary experience writing this on a piece of paper while the foggy blue sky is the only light source in your house currently.. bonus, I wrote this on brown paper…
Whilst on it's own it's deep and intense, when played with other ambient soundtracks in the background, this takes on a whole new meaning, a new level, a new threshold of foreboding. I love it!
Damn - this is awesome! I absolutely love it when ambient music is loud and front-and-center, giving it more of a surrealism feel, and this does that pretty well!
Heard that and well put man I love good space and dark ambient but I'm sick of the low volume uploading that most think creates the Ambience, no it just makes me seek something heavier , louder , grab you and hold you music for head travelin
Love this piece! I make ambient horror music myself and was looking for something dark and atmospheric to listen to while I build props for my haunt. This hit the spot! New sub! Keep on rocking my spooky brotha!
I stopped for only a moment, looking back at the dark figure behind me. A sly crescent formed in the shape of its head, making me exhale calmly. "And just what are you smiling about?" I ask, staring at it annoyedly. "We're _innnnn_ the _placeee..._ " "What are you going on about now?" "Oh, haven't you heard the taaaaale?" it says, its shadowy head tilting with mild amusement. "I know nothing about where you come from. I've just been following your guidance." I shift my feet a little bit, uncomfortable to have admitted my complete unawareness to my surroundings. " _Yesssssss..._ I have... But you _do_ know what to look out for, _right_ ?" I shake my head, but as I stare at the darkness ahead, I get a terrible idea to what it _could_ be. The dark alleys with the dirty dark stone felt like it was extending even further every time I stared... "Well? Is it a maze or something?" The shadow grinned, holding a thumbs up behind me. As if it wasn't my own shadow to begin with... "Perhaps... Somewhat... I just want to say, you'll want to _realllllyyyyy_ stick to the shadows this time. There's Kagejin living in the _wallssss_ you're surrounded with. And they could do with a good mortal _snack_ ..." A wave of dread came over me, as if the shadow wanted it to. "Don't be vague," I reprimanded the shadow, "Just... Just get to the point!" The shadow let out a high pitched chuckle. "Ka-ge-jin... The ones made of shadow. They're bigger than us, if you haven't seen them around yet... Of course, from this point onnnn, if you want to save your mother, you'll have to get used to seeing them... They stop hiding at the infinite alleyways you see in front of you and _beyoooooooond_ ... Ahhhhh, but long story short... They'll slaughter you within seconds. Which is why if I were you, I would risk your sight _and_ light to retreat in the shadows..." "...And is there a way to avoid either option? I'd like to neither be slaughtered nor corrupted by the dark." The shadow pursed its lips for a minute, before settling on its response. "That's for _yoooou_ to find out. But I would succumb to the darkness. There's some real bullies up this way, and I'll be able to make you vanish from sight if you slip into the dark for just a second... Which is exactly what I'll be doing. Have fun!" "Wait-!" I whisper-shout, but it was too late. Even without my own shadow, I am the only person on my side. And as I look up to see a dull, huge figure with a distorted pig's face above me, I knew that this was the only way, and that no matter what I did, I certainly wouldn't be alone...
This absolutely fits the ambiance of my DnD campaign. Plot hook: The full moon stopped in the center of the sky 36 hours ago. The sun hasn't risen and the moonlight is cold and stark. The Church of the Night's Eye, a major religion in the country of Bossandra, has claimed that this is a sign that their Goddess, who they refer to as the Lunar Matron or the Blind Seer, is watching them. They have allied themselves with the royal family and conversions are happening in droves in the capital city of Entredd. Not everyone thinks that this is a miracle, however, and nervous whispers run through packed taverns. Rumors are that the enigmatic underworld lord Sedis Rowan is putting together an investigation, although his motivations are even cloudier than those of the Church. All you know is that the sight of the moon now sends a chill up your spine. It's not right, and you need to get to the bottom of this occurrence.
I always liked horror dark ambient atmosphere... mystery and unknown is priceless...in a way it's pacification vibe and tranquility for the self being while alone drinking fine vine in the warm jacuzzi while outside dark cold and gloomy weather 👍🏼🤙🌚
I decided to delve into the writing of horror genres, and since I never wrote anything in the first place, I was hoping this music would be able to carry me. So far, all I've got is this: It was the middle of the night. No sounds to be heard, not even the chilling breeze of the secretive wind that never failed to listen to the hopes and sobs of poor unfortunate souls. A lonely and dark night where most hearts would rapidly melt of fear, for the night is always treacherous, capable of hiding the foulest of beasts and other nightmarish beings. The moon was high on the night sky but not even its light was able to breach the darkness that the night had shaped, almost seeming to gradually fade as one ventured further down the night. And venture … we did … and one hour had passed, no turning back now, our fate was bound to the night and should we perish in the edges of the twilight, no one would ever know. Two hours had passed, fear was setting in and the night was getting so much colder, so much so that no flame could hope to warm us. Three hours had passed and an eerie feeling had arrived. Supposed It should already be dawn but there was no sunlight to be seen nor the slightest hint that the sun was even about to rise. Not long after, we heard them. Whispers. Whispers in the void, calling to us. But no life around us to blame. Little did we know we were not alone on our predicament. The more we delved into the luring darkness in front of us, the more condemned we would come to be and the eerier the Whispers would become. And then, without the slightest warning... What do you guys think? Please be honest
As an amateur writer of several years myself, though not within horror, I find this to be excellent. It has a lot of potential. From my experience, segments of a story feels different if read on their own compared to when read together with the rest of the story, so keep rereading it as you progress. Context is always key, especially in this kind of narrative. Best of luck to you.

I feel like its linked to nostalgia playing old Resident Evil games esp. in game when you open inventory to read some notes while this kind of music is playing in the background and knowing that enemy activity is paused, its like a sanctuary. Anyone else feels the same?
I fell asleep to the music of Miquella's Haligtree and woke up to this late into the night... I imagined this music as the background to the start of an Elden Ring DLC - The Tarnished quietly wandering through a place of black soil and faint fog. The entrance to the dreamworld of the slumbering Miquella.
Once you turn, the thirst, the hunger, the emotion. It burns. Your teeth are in pain, eyes becomes red. Veins grows under your eyeballs. (Based on the vampire diarjes)
I walked forward, that tunnel couldn’t seem any darker. Foot after foot, darkness had surrounded me. Echoes all around could be heard, The screams and agony they eeried. In that distance there it was, A faint face with eyes and an agape mouth as dark as that tunnel had looked back at me. Every bad feeling one could conjure, That face had given me. Sadness and dread weighed me down as I knew this tunnels road ended here.

I am about to start a post-apocalyptic DnD campaign (I'll use this music) and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Here's a basic synopsis of the plot: The world has been shattered. The great continent and surrounding island chains have all rotten, and all who inhabited them were forced to flee as everything began to wither and die. It started slow. First, people started suffering misfortunes. No prayers were answered, and many started to have horrifying, soul-gripping nightmares. No one could explain it. Even the clerics had nothing to say. Then the animals began to change and become unnaturally aggressive. A simple rabbit would try to kill you, or a butterfly would fly onto your face relentlessly, trying to harm you. Then the dead and began to haunt us. Many reported seeing their long-dead loved ones standing just outside their windows at night, or in the darkest corners of their rooms...with facial expressions of ill-intent. People would hear screams of terror throughout the city in the latest hours of the night, and they'd know some poor soul was possibly facing a long-lost face, the face of someone they failed in life. This was life now. Dead, familiar faces...watching them sleep with envious eyes. No one was prepared for the demonic. People, regardless of kin, age, or moral compass, began to suffer the unfortunate and terrible affliction known as demonic possession. Such cases were extremely rare before, no one sane had ever even seen a demon. Those who claim to have seen one were either blind, mad, or both. All describe them in one or more of these same exact words: "Unexplainable, unfathomable, otherworldy, absolutely horrifying". Such cases of possession weren't so rare anymore. People writhing in the street, eyes glazed over white, foaming at the mouth, bleeding from everywhere they could, speaking in an unknowable and terrible language alien to this plane. It didn't take long for everything to crumble after that. People fled, in hopes that leaving the possessed's presence would somehow take them out of the demonic's all-seeing eyes. Plagues filled the world. Swarms of insects infested the cities and crops, horse-sized locusts with scorpion tails and rotting human-like faces haunted and massacred the populace, blood rained down on the world. The stench of death and pestilence filled the air. The Gods had truly left this place. When the dead began to walk, and the lesser demons began to replace the populace using their bodies as vessels, those who survived took what they could and sailed far, far away, into the dark, unknown seas in search for a new home, in search for shelter. And answers. Entire kingdoms compressed into massive migrant fleets, encountering others like them, allies and enemies alike, on their journey. Alliances reunite, reform or disband. They sail together, or fight for dominance. But they all have a single goal: to find a new home, far from that cursed land. For this they need to establish settlements in whatever small patches of land they find, sending scouting parties to explore and search for resources, settlement locations, and a new home, while keeping a careful, keen eye out for anything that even remotely indicates the presence of the undead or demonic, like it had in the land they left. This is where the players come in. They will be from any background; they may have played any role in the fight and evacuation of the lands they left and may hold any role in their current migrant kingdom. But for whatever reasons bring them together, they end up in one such scouting party, and are task with venturing away from their fleets to search for their new home. They will explore dark, alien woodlands, find ancient ruins of unknown origin, be haunted by eldritch abominations and cosmic horrors beyond description and perhaps discover a beautiful garden world hiding somewhere beyond the sea.
the man asked “god, did i make you proud?” god said “no, you killed the lives of countless innocent people” as god turned the man to stone, he croaked “i was made in your image” god fell silent.
An ancient abandoned city, where something truly horrific happened here, left behind to slowly decay. The music complements the scene perfectly, and lets you know that whatever happened here, it's still here.

During the quest, we fought a necromancer and then we found a secret place in a fortress where he had been doing some awful things. And that was exactly the moment this video started playing. It was the most atmospheric game I've played.
Very dark and unnerving. I love it.
Cruzes! Legal
Listening to this while reading Stephen King’s book is just such a great experience… thx.
Yours words immediately moved me because I am now there. Where to next???
@@DrMeta666 Thank you! 😍
And then you here, it
You hear a noise somewhere in the distance. It sounded like a rustling noise, but it's too far away to distinguish it. You can't tell if its human or an animal. But, it could be a sign of life, or hope for help...or a trap. Do you go investigate?
(Sorry, just trying to add on to it.)
@@Heylilvelvet its a dog making these sounds. investigation complete?
After 30 seconds I had chills all over my body, great work man!
Thank you I appreciate it.

Really dude? Pathetic
Out of curiosity what does that one reply say?

I love this and I am not talking about the vibe I am talking about the music itself I love this sound
This is definately dark creepy music but I love it. It helps get me through the tough times believe it or not.
I imagine myself in that scenario, writing in the middle of that gound, with my computer, doing this tortuous task that is a thesis... That image makes work so much bearable. Thank you.
One thing that comes to mind from the ambiance is: "What happened here?"
The explorers search a city, once brimming with life and noise.
Just took my gen psych 2 test to this music! This ambient music is exactly what I needed to take this test!
no music, only suspense sound, great work bro, make more it
God, I like this music so much that I've been falling asleep to it for the 5th night already.😳💤
Excellent décor pour un cauchemar ! Musique discrète, inquiétante à souhait ! 👍🥶
I'm writing a script listening to this... super thanks 😭🫀
This was perfect for my deep dark exploration in Minecraft 💯

Whilst on it's own it's deep and intense, when played with other ambient soundtracks in the background, this takes on a whole new meaning, a new level, a new threshold of foreboding. I love it!
I had to read Frankenstein for school and I listened to this when I was reading. Really fits the vibe!
Why does this sound so soothing? It reminds me of home in another lifetime
I never knew that horror music like this would sound good, thank you for proving me wrong ❤
I've been using this a lot recently while making a website. Super chill, smooth loop. Cheers for this.

*I love that statue so much!*
Love this piece! I make ambient horror music myself and was looking for something dark and atmospheric to listen to while I build props for my haunt. This hit the spot! New sub! Keep on rocking my spooky brotha!
Awesome, thank you!
Finally, something to lull me to sleep.
Let is be dreams that claim my night.
thats amazing, the vibe, the sounds in the back, and the long time fits perfectly.
I stopped for only a moment, looking back at the dark figure behind me. A sly crescent formed in the shape of its head, making me exhale calmly.
"And just what are you smiling about?" I ask, staring at it annoyedly.
"We're _innnnn_ the _placeee..._ "
"What are you going on about now?"
"Oh, haven't you heard the taaaaale?" it says, its shadowy head tilting with mild amusement.
"I know nothing about where you come from. I've just been following your guidance." I shift my feet a little bit, uncomfortable to have admitted my complete unawareness to my surroundings.
" _Yesssssss..._ I have... But you _do_ know what to look out for, _right_ ?"
I shake my head, but as I stare at the darkness ahead, I get a terrible idea to what it _could_ be. The dark alleys with the dirty dark stone felt like it was extending even further every time I stared...
"Well? Is it a maze or something?"
The shadow grinned, holding a thumbs up behind me. As if it wasn't my own shadow to begin with...
"Perhaps... Somewhat... I just want to say, you'll want to _realllllyyyyy_ stick to the shadows this time. There's Kagejin living in the _wallssss_ you're surrounded with. And they could do with a good mortal _snack_ ..."
A wave of dread came over me, as if the shadow wanted it to. "Don't be vague," I reprimanded the shadow, "Just... Just get to the point!"
The shadow let out a high pitched chuckle. Which is why if I were you, I would risk your sight _and_ light to retreat in the shadows..."
"...And is there a way to avoid either option? I'd like to neither be slaughtered nor corrupted by the dark."
The shadow pursed its lips for a minute, before settling on its response. "That's for _yoooou_ to find out. But I would succumb to the darkness. There's some real bullies up this way, and I'll be able to make you vanish from sight if you slip into the dark for just a second... Which is exactly what I'll be doing. Have fun!"
"Wait-!" I whisper-shout, but it was too late. Even without my own shadow, I am the only person on my side.
And as I look up to see a dull, huge figure with a distorted pig's face above me, I knew that this was the only way, and that no matter what I did, I certainly wouldn't be alone...
This is perfect! I’m listening to this ambient music as I fall into the worlds of the lovecraftian universe….
Good for creating a spooky atmosphere for novels. Really gets you in the feel of it.
Subtle detail with the artwork-
The statues eyes are, ever so faintly, glowing...
I always liked horror dark ambient atmosphere... mystery and unknown is priceless...in a way it's pacification vibe and tranquility for the self being while alone drinking fine vine in the warm jacuzzi while outside dark cold and gloomy weather 👍🏼🤙🌚
This is a prefect melody to write with.
I decided to delve into the writing of horror genres, and since I never wrote anything in the first place, I was hoping this music would be able to carry me. So far, all I've got is this:
It was the middle of the night.

This type of ambient music makes me feel relaxed, I could sleep listening to this.
Nice background. Makes me wanna end it all ..
Saving it to the playlist for 'my last evening here'. Gotta get to it one day.
This is wonderful, it makes me feel relaxed and creative some how?
superb sound and picture. Wishing everyone a warm and happy Christmas season with family
Once you turn, the thirst, the hunger, the emotion. It burns. Your teeth are in pain, eyes becomes red. Veins grows under your eyeballs.

This has been my life that I can think of
I walked forward, that tunnel couldn’t seem any darker.
Foot after foot,
darkness had surrounded me.
Echoes all around could be heard,
The screams and agony they eeried.
In that distance there it was,
A faint face with eyes and an agape mouth as dark as that tunnel had looked back at me.
Every bad feeling one could conjure,
That face had given me.
Sadness and dread weighed me down as I knew this tunnels road ended here.
scp vibes, undead king uprising vibes, something is in the woods vibes (or those stories that people post on yt about things vibes), mysterious indeed, I've enjoyed this.
I am about to start a post-apocalyptic DnD campaign (I'll use this music) and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Here's a basic synopsis of the plot:
The world has been shattered.
This is brilliant!

An ancient abandoned city, where something truly horrific happened here, left behind to slowly decay. The music complements the scene perfectly, and lets you know that whatever happened here, it's still here.
