This shed is seriously a work of art. Much higher quality and build detail than your typical cheap garden shed. Thanks for showing how to do it right!

Huge thanks to Cameron and Spencer for all the help with this phase of construction. You guys rock!

You are supposed to use those nails with the plastic heads if you are not going to shingle right away. They secure your tar paper better than staples if leaving it bare for a week.

    Another good shed video.
Just a suggestion for future reference… I’m assuming you didn’t remove the out gusset because it was glued on? I would have just cut some OSB to cover the left and right side of the 2x6 on either side of the outer gusset and then attached the ladder to that. If you had glued on the left and right side OSB and attached the ladders to that no one would have noticed (unless you told them) and it would have been plenty strong.
You guys did a good job on the shed.
    Ron

Good job guys and an excellent video. I'm going to build my 3rd shed on my property and this time I'm going to frame it myself. My first shed I cheated and had the walls and roof prefabricated at a lumber yard. This time I'm going to copy you :)

Nice! Best of luck with your new shed. I'm happy to answer any questions that come up for you during your build. Good luck!

I know I'm late to the party, but man am I enjoying this series. I found the first video because I was interested in re-leveling my existing shed which currently sits on an uneven stone gravel base. So I'm considering moving shed, redoing the base with concrete on top of existing gravel, and then placing shed back on top of a level surface.
Well.... after watching the first few concrete videos, I found myself watching video after video because these are so good and impressive. As an avid DIY'er myself, I now want to build a new shed from scratch, just for the fun of it. I love this stuff. Excellent videos. I'm sure this won't be my last comment.

More great work on the shed and the video! About to sheet my own and had a question. I know about the sheathing clips to give some space (and stability!) between courses from bottom to top, but do you also leave about 1/8" gap between sheets from left to right? It seems like the expansion can happen in that direction, as well, but I never really see that discussed in installation videos. Thanks, again!

Great question! Yes, I think you should (and I did, though it may not be obvious in the video). Sheathing can and will expand in both directions, so leaving a small gap at all the joints will ensure the panels can expand a bit with moisture / temperature changes without buckling at all. The reason you don't usually see the gaps in the vertical joints is because they fall on top of a rafter, so you cannot easily get a clip in there, and you would not see daylight through the gap anyhow. When I did this roof, I left a small gap between each sheet in the joints on the trusses. The gap does not need to be large - just use a roofing nail to set the width of the gap right before you nail down the sheets.
