Thanks for sharing! A lot to take away and as a business teacher myself, I resonate with a lot of your points. 1) Focusing on your core products and services allows you to specialize, do it well, and produce it with high quality. Doing too many things and spreading resources takes away from your specialty. 2) So many people understate the importance of marketing. Important to get the word out and increase reach to get people to notice you. Also important to encourage repeat business and build a customer base. 3) Growing slowly is important; it's important to spend on your business at the start, but the revenue streams have to be consistent before increasing staff. Many businesses just borrow a loan, start throwing money into things, and then they're left in a poor financial state. 4) I studied optimization and efficiency and it's a big part of consulting. Simply doing things just "because we've always done them" is a death null for businesses. You have to continually look for ways to make things more efficient, optimize your business processes so that you're more profitable and you can scale up. 5) YES YES YES. So many businesses jump into selling without a road map / business plan and it's so frustrating. You have to have a holistic approach to plan for anything that may arise. 6) Totally agree. My philosophy is in order to make money, you have to spend money first. But spend it wisely; investing in a quality product and service is necessary, and then marketing. Buying things you don't need is not necessary and a waste. 7) Having a growth mindset and realizing that businesses will ebb and flow in regards to revenue is important. Seasonal businesses like ice cream stands are really busy in the summer, but quiet in the winter months so future entrepreneurs have to take this into account. 8) Entrepreneurs have to set the tone for the company. If they are honest, trustworthy, and act ethically, employees will follow. If an entrepreneur is narrow minded, and creates a culture of negativity / toxicity, then the company and employees suffer.
Clement is probably one of the few who is actually success on a business and is sharing his success. All others we see on youtube are people who got success by teaching people to become success. The knowledge you are sharing is priceless. Thank you ❤️
Been following you FROM A YEAR. You are an inspiration. This ain't coming just cuz a lot of bloke's tell but it is true.... Your project's, your card's magic, damn.... What a person!
Accurate and to the point as you are in your every video. Just I wanna add the 9th point may be you have to identify and adjust the priority because the tasks can become overwhelming sometimes they can distract you. Give me heart if you agree
Video idea: how to start a company with a good friend/what is important... Looking at your team, you founded the company with a good friend and now your brother and a friend of him joined your team. I think many people think about founding with friends, but I imagine that it has its benefits, but also some drawbacks. I think this would be a great topic to share your experience.
the company has much more potential for higher evaluations, especially if any prep site like princeton review or macmillan education decides to buy them out for 50+ million. The only thing I hope is that clement still stays down to earth and keeps us fans updated thru youtube :D
Well, let me give you some advice on how to have a multi milllion dolar business: 1) be born in the us 2) work in silicon valley (preferably at google and the like) 3) start a business (preferably a business that sells the shovels) 4)...? . . . 8) profit
What is preventing AlgoExpert from growing any more is that you no longer sell 1 month subscriptions. It is too expensive to buy for the whole year, especially if you do not come from the US. So people will naturally look elsewhere into LeetCode and HackerRank because they do have free versions that you can use
the ceos of shopify and tesla have polar opposite opinions on how much you should be working. shopifys ceo believes in maintaining good wlb, working 40h/week, whereas teslas ceo says he works 80h+/week, saying that you would effectively get things done twice as fast. what are your thoughts?
Great channel - I love your transparency and thoroughness. Question: how important is formal education (e.g. MBA, certified designations) in building a business?
Clement, how long did it take you to ship your new programming language project? And was it done by you alone? And how long did it take you to write the backend of algoexpert?
I am 13 years old. I want a job in Google and i am learning python. I am learning python by a online tutorial in you tube. So is it right to learn from you tube? And after learning python, What should I do next? Can you please instruct me?
What made you choose an idea that's been done so many times before? There are sooo many interview prep sites. What made you believe you would succeed? I'm trying to start a company but having trouble coming up with a unique and valuable idea.
Clement do you think auto-promoting your business in your youtube channel and other channels is a better idea than the classical marketing strategies ? what are the ups & downs ?
Do you feel Fullstack Academy gave you everything you needed to start working as a junior dev right after graduating, or was there a long self study to fill gaps after?
Hi clem.. i just love using algoexpert.. i mean its supercool and fun to use.. the user experience is so great and seamless and intuitive.. i have just started using the platform and have made progress and m hoping to be a software developer..however i have one suggestion. Please improve the ui/ux of system design. I mean w.r.t to algo expert system expert looks ugly.
@Clément Mihailescu there is any e-mail that I can contact you to ask one thing? I would like to purchase your Algoexpert + SystemsExpert. However in Brazil it becomes a little bit expensive due to Dollar -> Brazilian Reais conversion. I think there are other countries where people have similar situation. Do you have any e-mail that I could contact you? BTW. Thanks for your videos and also for the free questions.
I want to buy your course, but i am not bale to.. not able to save the card or make GPay payments. Can anyone assist. is it safe to put card details.. do you have any emailId where we can email you and ask questions.
Hey Bro , i want say this, i have being watching your videos, you are very nice person , all my best wishes with you ..looking forward to join Algo expert , i am too curious to learn from that platform. would want to see my self to acquire the skills so that i can work in Google. every body ,near dear ones ,says that ,it's impossible to get the job in Google, one should have gifted skills, sometimes it de-motives me , but i don't believe this , i don't the path ,but i want to achieve.
AlgoExpert sounds like the equivalent of a " dating coach" for software engineers LoL . I'm kidding. Very useful video. But I'm just wondering what it actually means that there is actually need for such services? Maybe the companies went too mad with hiring process ?
One of the problems is that standard education has low quality, outdated material and is often very expensive. Even Elon Musk starts saying that he doesn't care if someone has a degree as long as he/she can prove to be good. As a software student you can safe a lot of college fees by instead seriously participating in coding marathons showing your competitive quality. Complement that with some online mini-masters of some good university, some interview training and I think you should be good to go for a software developer career at least in a small company.
