Needle felting a little bird from wool is the topic of this week's video tutorial, and our inspiration is the sweet little Tufted Titmouse. If you have been wanting to learn how to needle felt small birds, check out this lesson. We will needle felt a little titmouse from core wool, and you will see how easy it is to bring this little needle felted bird to life. We will finish him off with the diy bird legs we made on last week's show, and add glass eyes. Join us this week for a live tutorial on super easy ways to make needle felted birds. The supplies needed are minimal and we will be sharing what we used in this video.

These are super cute! I saw a finished one on our FB group page. My fave take away is how well the feet support the bodies! That was super clever! I will make it to a WW yet but I'm very glad to see them even after the fact. Thanks for all the great tutorials & info.

Fave takeaway is the use of a core. All work in the past has been smallish and used the color wool. Seeing how to make a step-by-step core plan is SO helpful. Thank you.

I’m very new to needle felting. Loving, loving, loving your videos. You are such an amazing teacher and the way you guys have the cameras set up and questions being asked is extremely informative.
The one thing that I really have questions on right now is needles, you talk about a spiral needle at round needle, different gauges. I need some kind of a tutorial on needles and what they do, and when you use them!

So I was a klutz yesterday and sprained my wrist and shoulder, all I could think was at least it's not my stabbing hand and I'll still be able to needle felt 😂 also my favorite tip is always the meat comparison firmness test, it helped me incredibly when I was new and I still use it to check things I felt before adding fur or feathers just to be sure things hold their shape and fiber stays in place, happy woolly Wednesday! 💖💖

Another great session! My favorite take away is to use felt sheets for the wings and tails. As always Marie, I really appreciate your conversational instruction, I always pick up some tidbit to use later just listening to you explain why and how you are doing what you are doing as well as mentioning different ways it could be done. I have made some wacky style birds but will definitely use the techniques you have used in last weeks and this weeks sessions to make some birds with a slightly more realistic essence. 😊

I always so enjoy watching you live, Marie, and this time I tried to felt along but I'm pretty slow and never want to miss a thing so put it down for later. Really loved your wing technique and how beautifully they came out. Also liked the options you gave for the crest. This morning I got inspired to try my Solar Bee after watching the owner's special video and hope to practice with it making a whole flock of birdie bodies to finish as different species.

Wonderful! I’ve been making felted birds for years, but I learned so much from your tutorial today! I can’t wait to try your techniques. I started making birds so I could use lots of colors and I liked that I could make something life-sized. Then I actually became a birder just 3 or 4 years ago, so my appreciation of them has grown so much more! Among my bird books is one I’d like to recommend because it features life-sized birds in it, which is important to me. It’s called “Warblers and other Songbirds of North America” by Paul Sterry. Thank you again!

Favorite takeaways: using felt for the wings and tails (why didn’t I think of that?! Brilliant!), using a pin to get the eyes placed symmetrically, the coverts, and cutting them for more detail. Wow!
