Omg this poor woman needs support and now. Her mental health is taking a back burner and she'll suffer in the long run. I feel so sorry for her, all the pressure is on her.

I really needed that hug. Still a broken mess even though it may be 8 yrs on.

    Hello, guys!
One of my closest friends was recently diagnosed with FND. Half of his body is paralyzed, he's receiving treatment and has made some progress since then, so I'm not too worried about him. But the interesting thing about his case is that he had several dreams prior to the onset of his symptoms in which half of his body was a statue. Has anyone here ever gone through a similar experience?

Im just feeling so hopeless! Just diognosed thought it was a relief as finally get proper treatment, nope apparently isnt any help at all. My son is carer also overwhelmed. Id take help from anywhere to relieve his pressure. I am also extremely proud. And rather than have anyone see how i am now ive become a hermit and no longer in contact with anyone. Took 8 years of fighting to get nowhere. Unbelievable the most depressing bloody illness or whatever it is or isnt. Ive started joking about it like other dzy limping with terrible cramp. He said aww mum cramp again? I replied no its not cramp its pretend cramp and its not really happening at all!!

He is not a proud man, he is a selfish man who would rather see his wife ground down and lose her job than accept a non family member helping him. There are some wonderful carers, I know, I have them, who can take the burden off your loved ones. This makes me so angry! Listen to your wife’s interview, man.

I asked him to watch this yesterday to go back & see how he was then but I don't think he will. 8 yrs later i am still by his side & still physically & emotionally drained.
      Xx.

Thanks a lot!! for sharing your experience....
Always love yourself....Love can heal everything....
I knows what it feels from doing physically awesome things to get paralyzed due to FND as I am suffered from last 11 Years.
For better recovery from FND, We can work on our breath by using techniques mentioned in books like The Oxygen Advantage...
    All the best.....

sachin moon not really. I’ve been diagnosed 3 months ago and i really feel that my life is over. Even if many psychiatrist and psychologist tell me that’s FND is temporary i’m so scared.
it took you how many time before you started to get better?

I’m glad I live in Australia and have the National Disability Insurance Scheme and also that I am not so blind to the burden on my family that I am not too proud to accept a career coming into the house. This man’s pride stops his wife receiving help and that is not fair.

I have fnd, and I can promise you. It’s not pride. It’s his need for safety and security. He trusts his family. Not strangers.

    • @AnnaDenholm

I now know its not pride & it was his need to keep me but 8yrs later I'm still in the same position.
