Excellent video! Thank you! I also have the Mavic 3 Classic and new at this. Had a couple questions for you. 1) Looks like you prefer shooting in 4K at 60fps. Majority of others like shooting in 30fps. 2) Any reason why you’re not shooting in 5.1K? Thanks
I would typically shoot in 4K 25 fps or 50fps as I’m based in Australia. 5.1K is amazing but the file sizes can be huge and you need a fast computer to edit and render 5K footage.
@14:50 I call the shot a skewed drone-in with a pan shot. I use this for a real-estate detail or a subject reveal shot. Setting CC to move the drone in a skewed forward motion to introduce a space then when you want to orbit the camera to maintain a focus on a subject is a very cool effect. Really hard without CC as you can easily wobble the controls that jiggles the camera to a noticeably bad result.
CC is an amazing feature. I used it a lot to capture a clip of a moving vehicle. I determined the speed I needed, set the CC, but used the control to hold the drone in space until the truck was where I wanted and then released the control and the camera framed what I wanted
[Ignore this comment. I checked the beginning of the video and noticed you had set obstacle avoidance to OFF in the Fly App Safety menu.] Dan, why are the obstacle detection sensor icons red in the Fly App screen? You only briefly used Sports mode. While 'N' is shown in top left, the sensors are red, not white. Ambient light levels aren't an issue. I don't understand. Is the Fly App not updating the mode/speed setting on the remote control properly on the screen?
Thank you Dan. I am so frustrated. When I set my speed and push my C1 button, which I have programmed for cruise it only engages half the time. I cannot figure out why. It seems very 101. You set you input speed going forward and then press the button. Is there something other I am missing. Like is there a certain height or any circumstances that would keep it from engaging. I am thinking my controller has a problem.
Thank You Dan. I tried all that over and over for a week. I talked to Senior tech support and they said to calibrate my vison sensors and reload the software with DJI assistance. If that does not help I have to send it in. I hope it does. I have had this drone and never did crash it and I don't really want do send it in. The refresh drones in the past not so good. I had a bad time with in My Mavic 2 pro Thanks for getting back to me. @@DansTubeTV
Does anyone know what the red symbol between the RC signal strength and the satellites symbol on the controller screen is? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks.
Dan Question: How do you update cruise control? For instance you fly at constant speed forward, but now you want to fly faster and also fly a bit to the right or left. Now how do you update your cruise control without stopping it to fly? Why do I ask? For one time I flew in cruise control and then wanted to turn right, what you can do and I don't remember how I did it, but then on the screen it told me it updated cruise control. I thought this is fantastic, but could not replicate it again as much as I tried. Do you have any idea?
@@DansTubeTV I tested it out again today and found out that it only updates if you increase, decrease the speed of the one or two sticks you used to set cruise control. If you use one stick to set cruise control and then move 2 sticks and try to update cruise control will be disabled or the other way round. Good luck!
Ok my Mavic3 classic when I go to set the cruise control on the controller it say hyper lapse cruise control. It doesn’t give me just cruise option Help
I thought the cruise control feature was a boring one lol. Well done being so creative that you could find all these unique ways of using that feature!
Now, more than at any time in the past, Chinese companies need loyal customers to advocate for them in foreign countries like Australia, the EU and US. So, a decision by DJI to limit new functions such as Cruise Control and Waypoints to only new drones for PURELY MARKETING REASONS will work against their interests. These new functions should have been in DJI Fly at least a year ago for all semi-professional drones. Remember, they haven’t yet released the Developer APIs for the 3-series, a move that borders on anti-competitive action against Litchi, Dronelink etc. We have good reason to be disappointed with DJI when their software releases lag so far behind their hardware releases. I've reached my limit of tolerance, and I'm not going to stay silent any longer. 😠😠👎👎
Great points but I think this is fair. Their main focus is selling drones, not supporting third party apps, they don’t have to do this. They can decide to stop supporting third party apps, it is their choice at the end of the day. Consumers might not be happy but DJI can choose how they want to proceed with their company and products.

Your DIRECT trials of Cruise Control was 🔥💯👍🏾 Great content 🎯
Glad that I could help. Thanks for watching 😁
WOW that's great. So basically it locks ALL inputs as they were at the time of enabling. Super cool
Yes! I was surprised, this is an impressive feature 😁
A great video…amazing capture at the 15:00 to 15:40 mark…praise from a New Yorker…what’s the name of this town?..if you don’t mind me asking.
This was in Cleveland, QLD, Australia.

Thanks for watching! I appreciate your comment, I had the obstacle avoidance off in this video.
Excellent cruise control demo, Dan. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. Happy New Year!

Hmmm, you should be able to press it to enable cruise control. Try holding the movement inputs in and the holding the C1 button?

Wonderful illustrations of cruise control. I am hoping for this and waypoints on the Mini 3 Pro. Happy New Year from Wisconsin.

Happy New Year mate 🥳 I would love to see that as well but I doubt that DJI will do that. They might keep these features for their flagship drones.
Does anyone know what the red symbol between the RC signal strength and the satellites symbol on the controller screen is? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks.
That is relating to the obstacle avoidance sensors 👌
Last I saw you crasht the beautiful m3 classic because you had disabled the sensors. Now they are red again! Why do and do you gamble that?
This was a different test. I was flying above the tree line with no obstacles.

Hmm, I haven’t tried this before. I didn’t know that you could do it, maybe adjust the movement and press the cruise control button again?

Hi, interesting feature.
Quick question: sometimes the props were seen. Could that be?
Yes, I noticed that as well, I don’t know what that is about. It will be fixed in a software update I’m sure.
Ok my Mavic3 classic when I go to set the cruise control on the controller it say hyper lapse cruise control. It doesn’t give me just cruise option Help
Update your drone, controller and app to the latest firmware.
air 2s can pan camera left and right way more than m3.
although then I get props in view.
Yes, that is very true! A pretty cool feature but you definitely get props in the scene.
Nice explanation and use of cruise control - does it work in Sports Mode as well?
It certainly does, they have done an awesome job with the Cruise Control feature.
Makes me wanna grab the sticks! Great video!
Thanks for watching! I was impressed by the cruise control feature.
Great info on the cruise control! Thank you! Just keeps getting better.

Thanks Joe, I appreciate the support!
Oh yea do I need to hit re set?
Reset? You can stop the cruise control and then resume flying when you’re ready.
I wonder if it works with zoom?
Yes, you can zoom in and still use cruise controls.
@@DansTubeTV What I meant was, can it automate zooming - seems like it can't.
You can use waypoints to automate the zooming but not through cruise control.
Very Cool Dan, thank you. I would have never known
I’m glad that I could help. Thanks for watching 👀
but the zoom only works in video mode and
NOT in picture mode
(NO zoom in picture mode) 😢
Yeah 😔
Thanks brother boy.
No worries mate!
Nice!
