- My goal with this video is to show any beginner on how to catch clean and cook a mutton snapper. These fish spawn off Florida's coast every year around the full moons in April-July. They gather in huge numbers along the edges of reefs, wrecks and other structures providing for some of the best snapper fishing all year. I show you everything you need to know how to catch these tricky fish, from the bait, to the rig, hooks and conditions to look for.

@@LandsharkOutdoors I would also comment on the health aspect, I don't see the French bread with butter, a beer, etc./all and that is no coincidence that you don't have the normal "belly role" around your waist. You show you can be healthy--and eat great tasting food. As a side, can you recommend a charter for an out of towner like me--I can't trailer my boat to florida--well, I can but I won't do that. Vic when using the anchor ball if you let your anchor line come along side the boat then clip the ball on it is easier. That way you don’t have to do it hanging over the bow and risk losing your ring. We also leave on eye of the ring on the carabiner that way it is always attached to the ball. Also if you don’t have a ball and forget it you can let the line come along side and it will raise off the bottom, then the boat drive turn and drive straight at it will pull in the line that way you not having to pull all that weight vertical.

I wish I could be there to buy your snapper, head, and bones to make fish soup. Snappers make the best soup bar none than any saltwater fish. Take it from a Pacific Islander who used to fish and cook delicious seafood, fresh from the ocean.

Reed the Fish Mongerer then Victor in a close 2nd place!!! Lol. Victor is very talented and because of his chef skills, he surpasses Reed in the overall score!! Shout out to Reed though because he is the best Fish butcher I've ever seen on TH-cam. His channel and shorts are amazing. I have learned how to fillet fish from Reed and Victor alone. Yesterday I bought a whole fresh Salmon in Kansas that I had overnighter along with Halibut and Red snapper and paid half as much as a plane ticket but thats ok. Lol. Halibut was best fish and Casava chips ever. COOKED IN lard!!!!!!! Pure Beef Tallow!! Its not Authentic unless cooked in beef tallow if you didn't know, now you know. Thank you Vic. I think the bally hoop is the greatest recent tools available for catching bait. They are ridiculously priced though but, I've caught bait worth thousands of dollars with mine. I rarely get them to get as close to the boat as in this video however. Thanks for the tips.
easier said than done of course, but next boat you guys get, make sure it has a round livewell, baits like ballyhoo and menhaden that tend to swim into a corner and die will live much longer.... and a spotlock motor...total game changer... im so glad i dont have to anchor anymore. love this video thanks victor!

Your videos are fantastic- thank you. I also live in Pompano but have never had the success you have! Any reason you used the venting tool vs. a descending device? I think researching would show the descending device is the most reliable way of ensuring fish survival.

Big fan of your and Brooke's videos. That said, your assertion that there are no trash fish, only trash cooks is wrong. Getting ciguatera poisoning from grouper will change your mind, trust me, it sucks to get. You should talk about the very real risk that ciguatera poisoning poses.
