Absolutely loved this. Added a few of my own changes to the deck that I thought could make it even stronger. -Karn, The Great Creator: Since Ygra turns all of our opponents creatures into artifacts, this allows us to shut down activated abilities of our opponents creatures. It also prevents them from sacrificing them as foods to gain life. - Fade from History: Like with Karn, Ygra turning our opponents creatures into artifacts increases the use of this normally niche boardwipe 10 fold -Garruk, Cursed Huntsman: Creates wolf tokens that we can use to pump Ygra and Garruk along with giving us creature removal with his -3 ability -Lolth, Spider Queen: Similar to Garruk, she provides us with more creature tokens and card draw. Bonus since the spiders she creates also have reach -Liliana, Dreadhorde general: Same as the other two planeswalkers, creature tokens and creature removal along with card draw anytime we sacrifice a creature -Pitiless Plunderer: I feel like I don't even need to explain this one. Creates treasures whenever our creatures die. Can also go infinite with Chatterfang, allowing for total creature removal basically for free - Moldervine Reclamation: Card draw and life gain when our creatures die - Blood artist: Drains our opponent when our creatures die
36:20, this moment and leading up to it hurt me so bad to watch... just letting the win go by accidentally. I'm glad you saw it and included it in your editing though. I'm a big Chatterfang player, so when I saw Cat, Soultrader and Mr. Took I immediately got a devilish grin lol
36:20 I think I got it: Cast Peregrin Took, sacrifice Familiar to Soultrader to make treasure + food. Use food to bring back Familiar, sacrifice Familiar to Soultrader to make treasure + food. Et cetera to drain out the opponent with Familiar triggers (which recuperate the life paid to Soultrader).
@@harutakami1313 Afaik, alchemy rebalance gave cauldron familliar the inability to block creatures, not remove the life gain. You can clearly see LVD gain life when replaying cauldron familliar.
This could have happened at turn three. He had familiar, mentor and a food after casting Soultrader. If he sacced familiar twice by recurring it with the food available, and sacced mentor to create a food, LVD would have three treasures for Peregrin, one food and familiar in the graveyard. LVD could then recast familiar and sacrifice it for infinite treasures and infinite life gain/life drain due to Peregrins replacement effect.
One thing I love about your vids is that sometimes the situation looks dire, and you even call it out opp might just end it next turn. Then I would look at the vid's time slider. The chapter is still going long! You know a comeback is imminent. Either that, or even more epic back-and-forth will ensue.
Fade From History is an auto-include in this deck. The way the card is worded everyone makes bears and THEN destroys all artifacts and enchantments meaning you basically double up on Ygra triggers and swing for a billion out of nowhere
i saw the couple of comments saying you missed the game 3/ t4 combo, but I think you could have won on turn 3: Use 3 mana in soul trader then you sac the familiar for 1 treasure, bring it back and sac again for the 2nd treasure and then sac the mentor for the 3rd treasure and on death mentor leaves a food, play perigrin took with the 3 treasures and bring back the cauldron familiar to start the loop with the food left by the mentor death
The problem I've found with Ygra is getting through the damage. Trample or unblockable is definitely needed. Rhonas the Indomitable and Rhonas's Monument help
Love Ygra in person, but it can be miserable to execute on Arena sadly! When the game lags with extra tokens and triggers stacking it can rope you quickly like if your opponent has many cards left to mill or more than enough life to drain out. Sometimes I'll sac things causing extra unnecessary triggers to streamline it. I have lost from roping out and having triggers auto default to targeting me. The easiest wins are definitely like with Fade from History/Season against a big board state. We do get more options with the likes of Creeping Corrosion in paper. Ways to give Ygra trample are often the deal breaker otherwise it's chumps for days. I find Shadowspear really good for pushing damage through with the sheer life gain. It's also an interesting mirror matchup where you don't need your own Ygra out to win on the spot with the various combo lines. Love the card as a commander and even picked up the Ygra sidewinder deck box for it
I like Rhonas the Indomitable and Rhonas's Monument for this. Monument offers a nice cost reduction on green creatures and pumps with trample when casting those creatures. Indomitable pumps with trample and survives "destroy" board wipes.
Didn’t include it deliberately. Unlike Season of Gathering it doesn’t give Ygra trample and still leaves the opponent with a blocker. So while it can be great on certain board states it’s unlikely to win on the spot and still removes most of your board.
@@LegenVD With the wording of Fade from History the bear is created before the board wipe so it actually gets destroyed as well leaving Ygra free to swing in!
I've never felt more full! So much value packed into this awesome deck! Love golgari and love this strategy! Can't wait to play it for myself! Appreciate you tons Luca!!! ❤️🤘

hi LVD. I personally have 0 interest in the brawl format, so I don't want to watch your videos about them. is there any way you could add the info about the format in your thumbnails oder title? i know, sometimes you do, but not always. of course i can just click away, but i think that is bad for the algorithm, isn't it?
The last 10+ brawl videos have had the card name in the thumbnail. You can also check out the format playlists on my channel page, or if you follow me on either Patreon or Aetherhub you can see the format listed there too. Although you should totally give Brawl a try, it’s the most fun format on Arena!
Watching LVD play with his Food provides a lot of value.

lol nevermind you did it three minutes later
Who else misses cauldron familiar?
Technically it doesn't offset the life payments from Soultrader, since the Alchemy rebalance of Familiar removed the life gain. :T

Yes

Mm food
ok, it was honestly painful to see him miss the infinite combo in the third game. i mean, he saw it one turn later, but still.
How do you even win with this deck? Feels too slow most of the time
