I took a chance to place a bid for an upgrade from Economy Class to Business Class on Philippine Airlines PR212 from Sydney to Manila. This was quite an amazing experience and will do it again if you ask me.

My PAL bus class flight from Bris to Manila June 12th 2024 was a disaster...they couldn't make it to Manila due to low fuel!!! Landed at Clark airforce base for refueling, meaning stuck on plane for over an hour while that happened, then when finally made it into Manila 2 hours late, they kept us on the plane while buses turned up in the rain, no airbridge for us...then after the buses turned up they still wanted us to stay on the plane because of the tiny gap between the stairs and the steps letting a little bit of rain in, so they wanted and didn't have umbrellas ready for the tiny gap!!! Everyone at this stage just wanted off the plane! Flight home 2 weeks later on June 21, the flight was delayed and flight number changed a few days prior, and even then on the day, the flight was just landing at the supposed new dept time! So departure was 2 hours later than the already delayed scheduled time. Will never use PAL ever again! Customer service was a waste of time...We are the paying public, but it feels like we owe thanks to them! Always feel like getting kicked up the backside on the way out of Phils! Thanks for coming, please don't come back!

Philippines Airlines Is Another Airlines I Has Not Flown With Great Work
Yes, it is worth a try just for the experience of how it feels on flying Philippine Airlines.
The wife and I are heading back to the Philippines in January 2024, have booked and paid for economy seats, and I'm hoping to suprise her with upgraded business class seats upon arrival at the airport, so I have all ready put in for a bid to upgrade there and back, fingers crossed there will be available seats and they are together.. bidding for an upgrade is the cheapest way to fly business. Basically, for 2 people, you can actually fly 2 for the price of one return.

Wow, that would surely be a very nice surprise for her. Yes, bidding for a business class upgrade is cheaper than full fare. I got lucky there ware available seats. I was not lucky on the way back from MNL to SYD as business class were full. I even bid higher this time but did not get upgraded.

I always bid for upgrades on international flights, totally worth it!
Absolutely I totally agree with you. It's all worth it with just a fraction of the cost of Business Class.

Hi, I bid for US$630, about A$911 Australian Dollar equivalent. If I have bid for the minimum of US$550 I might still get it due there are still empty seats 💺 on the flight ✈️. On the way back MNL to SYD PR211, I made a higher bid of US$710 but I was not successful as the Business Class is FULL. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
@@bee2fast Thank u, i paid AUD3.4k and 2.7k for kids return for the same flights departing April.. Its still a great price comparing to qantas.
@@cinogen2 That’s still a great bargain. It’s all worth it with being on Business Class. The convenience from checking in to priority boarding and deplaning. You also get pampered service and gourmet meals. On top of that, access to the airport lounge.
