I watched this series when I was less than 10 years old. I’m coming back to rewatch it and so far it’s just as good as when I watched it at 9 years old. Insane nostalgia
To get Gengar instead of Nidoking (on red version) go to victory road to fight your rival before going back into the forest. Take out his pidgey and then use 6 growl on his squirtle before you kill it. you will walk into the forest and find a level 1 gengar if you do it right.
The only glitch I ever found on my own with Red/Blue without the internet was that if you Cut a tree and walk over top of it and save, then restart your game, you'll be on top of the tree that respawned. I was proud of myself at the time.

@@10KC20MG It depends on how it's written with kanji (ideograms). The most common meaning for "naka" is "inside, in the middle" (represented by 中) while you could combine lots of different kanji to create several words / expressions that are pronounced "senhai".

So the hero's name is "Naka" and the rivals name "Senhai". Good. I have no idea what that means because I don't speak japanese but I can read hiragana.
The Drunken Coward So the hero's name means inside, relation or relationship, while the rival's name means... Something but the website I was looking them up in doesn't have that listed.

Two thing Thing one I like this this is good keep going Thing two You're Naka, your rival is Senhai, and your Bulbasaur is Kotsura. They look similar, but Tsu's other two apostrophe comma things are vertical, when you wanted the horizontal ones. Also, you were missing tenten again, hence why Shi wouldn't've been Ji like you wanted anyways. Okay short Japanese lesson over.
6:49 what's funny is I played Pokemon Yellow for the first time recently, and that (getting an encounter right in front of a trainer) happened to me several times completely unintentionally.
all I know is someone replied that you needed to fight your rivals squirtle, assuming you chose charmander. don't remember which version was being used. there was a reply that said something like having to lose that battle as well
The Nidoking Glitch is actually a form of the infamous Mew glitch. The only change is he has to faint while in front of the trainer because there is no other way to teleport from the trainer before they battle you at this point in the game. You can get just about any Pokemon with this glitch it just depends on the special value of the last Pokemon you battle before returning to the route you began the glitch (in this case Viridian Forest). Example is his getting a Slowbro at 9:12. This is because he most likely battled a Kakuna or Weedle that has a special value related to Slowbro. So if you are getting anything other than Nidoking it is because you are not battling the right Pokemon. Here's a map made by a user on reddit that can be helpful for knowing what Pokemon you are likely to encounter. puu.sh/257S Here's a link to the thread witch also explains which Pokemon can be gliched into level 100. www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/47tr1l/rby_map_of_mew_glitch_pok%C3%A9mon/ Hope this helps. And yes it does work on the downloadable versions of these games released on the 3DS Note: Yellow players the Pokemon obtained using your rivals special will be different as he uses different Pokemon than in the other versions. Also there are a few places where team rocket grunts are replaced with Jessie and James encounters resulting in different encounters as well. Other than that though the map is accurate as far as I've tested.
Donovan Megerle I am sure I am not wrong. I rechecked what he put several times. The one he used, its dashes are vertical, not horizontal, meaning he put "tsu" instead of "shi" and there aren't any lines beside it to make it "ji". Recheck it. It's at 1:14.

8:44 That would be a pretty cool mechanic. Certain encounters increasing in chance or just being completely diffetent all together based on the status condition your lead Pokemon has.
@@septum_funk I'm still creating don't worry! There's no doubt that we'll never run out of glitches to cover. I just wasn't lucky enough to hit the big time like the others who have stopped so have to work for a living 😂
I watched this series many, many years ago, and it got me to do a glitch playthrough of these games myself at the time. Eventually, I forgot about it, and when I remembered it years later, I couldn't find it. A few years have passed since then, but I was finally able to find it, and I feel young again. This series left more of an impact on me than it reasonably probably should have. I know this is a strange thing to say, and you likely won't see this, but thank you.
Coming back to this video 8 years later and being able to fully read Katakana and Hiragana, I can say that: Hero: なか (naka - meaning inside) - Intended spelling: ばか or バカ (baka - meaning idiot) Rival: せんはい (senhai - doesn't mean anything) - Intended spelling: せんぱい (senpai - meaning senior) Bulbasaur: コツラ (kotsura - actually a name) - Intended spelling: ゴジラ (Gojira - Japanese name for Godzilla)
blood hunter Gotta love it when you find something weird like that hiding. Like, Fun thing about the old man method of getting trainer fights is that it plays a slowed down version of the champion theme for certain trainers. Or that the Pokémon they have depends on the trainers you fight earlier. No one fought gives you some level 32 mons, other trainers can give you up to level 255 or so
This channel will forever remain so nostalgic to me. Does anyone know why Scykoh stopped uploading? Is he just another victim of the great covid burnout generation?
I'm so looking forward to Gen one coming to the 3DS at the end of February and you bet I'm going to use these glitches to get level 100 Pokémon at the beginning and just go on a rampage:3
You named Red "Naka" which means "center". "Ba" is top row, third from the right, then press the quotation mark sign bottom row, 3 spaces from the "ED" "Senpai you got almost right, gotta press that --> 。sign after pressing は to make "ha" become "pa" In both cases the hiragana characters will look like ばか (baka) and せんぱい (senpai) Same with Gojira, the ", or "diacritical marks" as theyre called, make "shi" into "ji" I know Im really late to make a correction like this but hope I helped.
0:40 he names him self naka(なか) instead of baka(ばか) and senhai(せんはい) instead of senpai(せんぱい) I guess he just didn't notice he used the na kana instead of the ba(ha with the ") And almost spelled senpai right except he didn't change the ha into pa (ha with a tiny o)
jonathon puckett When n is followed by p, m, or b it gets pronounce like m. so it's not wrong really. There are several different conventions for transliterating Japanese in English.
Hm... this has a promising start. Though, I hope you don't get Missingno.'s facts wrong... Missingno.'s only dangerous in Yellow Version, and crashes the Japanese Green/Red version upon encounter. ...I still don't know what he does in the Japanese Blue version though, I know you can actually fight, and capture it. But I'm not sure how it's stats/moves are different....
Only the Blue file here will be focusing on the typical Cinnabar Island Missingno glitch, that's why my name for Blue is so strange. I'll try and show off other glitch Pokemon methods on the others, though.
Scykoh Oh I know why the name is odd. Depending on the name given to your character, you can fight all kinds of odd things. From level 254 Mewtwos, to spooky scary skeleton Missingnos, to even glitch trainers. Also, in the Japanese Blue version, you need to use the Mew glitch to encounter it... like I said though, in the Japanese Red/Green, it crashes when you fight it.
EsEmDee It technically does. It's just that you need the Mew Glitch to even try to fight it... and as I said in my previous post, it crashes the game when you encounter it. So... I guess you're kinda right?
Scykoh is my comfort channel. I've been watching him since I was like 11, it's nice to come back to the videos from time to time :)

8:44 That would be a pretty cool mechanic. Certain encounters increasing in chance or just being completely diffetent all together based on the status condition your lead Pokemon has.
I remember watching this when I was way younger, and it’s still good
Ahh yes. Another TH-camr who became huge over glitches then just disappeared. Sad times for those who actually care about the content they create.
i think he just lost interest in glitches, since he is still active on his gameplay channel
He's still on to glitches, he just can't find games with enough glitches to make a full video for it
@@septum_funk I'm still creating don't worry! There's no doubt that we'll never run out of glitches to cover. I just wasn't lucky enough to hit the big time like the others who have stopped so have to work for a living 😂
@@AbsolutelyLitVikku trust me, there are thousands upon thousands of games, and every one of them have glitches ahaha
@@MikeyTaylorGaming well that's what he stated in his twitter, besides he still uploads gameplay related things, just not glitches
CAN YOU USE THIS TO GET A HAUNTER!?!?!?!??!
I know this is a strange thing to say, and you likely won't see this, but thank you.
him: look at this pikachu
me: awww so derpy and cute
him: its nightmare fuel
me: ikr
Your name was Scrublord and Your rivals was poophead27
HansPlayz poophead27 is from element animation right?
Yu Ri Ask him.
Your crazy his name isn't that...
Yu Ri yes
That nidoking has my name.
GG, Curtis. GG.
Curtis op
Hey Curtis :>
Curtis You are the nidoking, harness its powers and tackle your foes to death you level 100..Monster..
Wow
Coming back to this video 8 years later and being able to fully read Katakana and Hiragana, I can say that:
Hero: なか (naka - meaning inside) - Intended spelling: ばか or バカ (baka - meaning idiot)
Rival: せんはい (senhai - doesn't mean anything) - Intended spelling: せんぱい (senpai - meaning senior)
Bulbasaur: コツラ (kotsura - actually a name) - Intended spelling: ゴジラ (Gojira - Japanese name for Godzilla)
If I'm right, you called yourself Naka and your rival Senhai It's hard to tell in low resolution though.
what about bulbasaur?
+Sanora _
Bulbasaur is フシギダネ (Fushigidane), which is the default name.
Joziah2 and Stealth384 I mean, what did he name his bulbasaur?
+ashley f.
Oops, I messed up.
Thanks for correcting me.
+ashley f. He ended up naming the Bulbasaur "コツラ" which reads as "Kotsura".
I'm playing a Game Boy Advance SP use in the original copy of red and I got bug catcher infinitely
It happened to me while playing the 3D Ds I laughed so hard
Same here
How do you fix it
Simply A reddit addict from what I know I just had to reset my whole game
blood hunter
Gotta love it when you find something weird like that hiding. Like, Fun thing about the old man method of getting trainer fights is that it plays a slowed down version of the champion theme for certain trainers. Or that the Pokémon they have depends on the trainers you fight earlier. No one fought gives you some level 32 mons, other trainers can give you up to level 255 or so
All the glitches was one of the main reasons why Gen1 was AWESOME!
This is the kind of content I need in my life. Subscribed !
“With that the rampage is about to being” HYPE
This is amazing, you should totally do something like this again!
(For the Lose on Trainer Tile Glitch)
Or get to low HP and waste all your PP so you can use struggle instead of slowly losing HP
I still love rewatching this series! I'd love to see more glitch quests in 2018!
Your commentary is hilarious. And I super appreciate your music at the beginning is from FF8!
Wow I started playing through my blue cart again, and after getting poisoned wouldn't you know I got the encounter FIRST TRY! :D
Good for you :D
me too
Does it work for red
yes
Yeah! Got my lv. 100 Nidoking!
It took me like 3 hours to do it (on blue)
I did it on a emulator
This channel will forever remain so nostalgic to me. Does anyone know why Scykoh stopped uploading? Is he just another victim of the great covid burnout generation?
late but he stopped content creation in 2022 and changed careers to become a software dev
I died when you named your rival "STANK" 😂😂😂😂
Lol
I'm so looking forward to Gen one coming to the 3DS at the end of February and you bet I'm going to use these glitches to get level 100 Pokémon at the beginning and just go on a rampage:3
+dylan bellerose Where did you hear this???????
+I didn't ask for your OPINION
www.pokemon20.com/en-us/products.html
+dylan bellerose WIAT WAT POKEMON GEN 1 FOR 3DS?
+slg4 He means for virtual console.
oh ok BUT STILL
You named Red "Naka" which means "center". "Ba" is top row, third from the right, then press the quotation mark sign bottom row, 3 spaces from the "ED"
"Senpai you got almost right, gotta press that --> 。sign after pressing は to make "ha" become "pa"
In both cases the hiragana characters will look like ばか (baka) and せんぱい (senpai)
Same with Gojira, the ", or "diacritical marks" as theyre called, make "shi" into "ji"
I know Im really late to make a correction like this but hope I helped.
tl;dr
you're kind of late
tl;dr: I dont care
+Arch_Saltsworn if you find that long you probably have no chance at life lmao you also cared enough to reply so gg
And I thought Undertale fans were a nice and caring lot
+Arch_Saltsworn Most are pretty nice, but some are a-holes, like this guy.
Hey man, I know I’m late to say this, but thank you so much for uploading this series!!
Back in Pokemon Green *cries* we're still grinding.
That Pikachu terrifies me.
of course the japanese graphics are the -1000000000000000000000000% quality
Scykoh the terrifying pikachu was replaced by a terrifying squirtle
AwefulVA omfg why did i laugh so damn hard at this EH HEH HEH HEH we're still grinding.
0:40 he names him self naka(なか) instead of
baka(ばか) and
senhai(せんはい) instead of senpai(せんぱい)
I guess he just didn't notice he used the na kana instead of the ba(ha with the ")
And almost spelled senpai right except he didn't change the ha into pa (ha with a tiny o)
BabyMahdy I'm not saying he did wrong but he did say comment to check if he did it right
It's perfectly normal to get errors in foreign languages
I remember watching this when it had just come out. How has it been 5 years already?
I loved this series as a kid and it still holds up to this day
LOL you named Red, Naka, and Green, Senhai! XD
???:Notice me Senhai, NOTICE ME! Narrator (Scykoh): Said Naka.....
Senhai?: But my name is SEM-PIE
OmarCraft TheCraftingBench ummm you know that baka means idiot and sempai is a phrase used as mentor or upperclassman
jonathon puckett It's senpai, not sempai
sorry
jonathon puckett When n is followed by p, m, or b it gets pronounce like m. so it's not wrong really.
I grew up playing Green, and from what I remember, that version doesn't even have missingno.
EsEmDee It technically does. It's just that you need the Mew Glitch to even try to fight it... and as I said in my previous post, it crashes the game when you encounter it. So... I guess you're kinda right?
EsEmDee
It has a Missingno. However, it's called Ketsuban and it cannot battle!
whats with the border? is it if you use the snintendo?
I think so
Pokemon Stadium
Erik Rasmussen some emulators have it.
This format is coool, dude! Keep it, i would like it a lot to see more of this!
