Well, at least konami's doing right related to gaming...actually making games or in this case, game collections that are worth getting.
Can't believe it's been a year and they haven't bothered following up these collections at all with Vol 2.

More than classics, this games redefined the genre back in the day.
Picked it up for 4.99, and I'm a Gladius and life force fan so it's a good buy for me.
Salamander is a awesome game, sadly the improved vercion isn't included.

Is there any way to get rid of that ugly option menu thing at the bottom of the screen while playing?
I am a bit late. Life Force on the Japanese side is the Japanese version where stage 3's flames are blue and the backgrounds are blobby instead of webbed.

@@Gameboy-Unboxings this is the first time “Haunted Castle “has been released for a home console (in the US ),it was released back in 2006 for the PS2 (Japan only )in very limited availability.
I need a frogger collection come on man frogger 1 and 2 on the ps1 are really good and frogger 2 on the xbox 360 plays like a top down version of it gameplay wise while frogger 2 on the gbc plays like it level theme wise and are also great.

Weird that it proclaims "powered by Arcade Archives" on the title screen, but lacks features, like online leaderboards, that the AA games have.
Lifeforce or aka "Salamander" for European gamers of the 1980s is actually the direct sequel to Gradius or aka "Nemesis" for Euro gamers in the same era. Then came Vulcan Venture as the 2nd sequel. As a trilogy this makes this collection worth getting for those alone. Can't see how this TH-camr reviewer can say it's not worth it since there are plenty of old fans of shoot em ups that were alive in the 1980s unlike this guy.
Salamander isn't a sequel, is more a "spin off" that twist the Gradius previous established conventions.
And yes, this youtuber doesn't have any idea of the legendary quality of this games.
I love the game selection but all the games are poorly emulated. Especially the sound is so horrible i regret buying it. Thunder Cross has a badass soundtrack and sound effects but they completely dissapear somewhere because all i hear is annoying high pitch sounds with no dynamic range.
I don't remember that with the other two collections.
That's very strange because they claim it's using Arcade Archives emulation software, and I've found their individual releases to be excellent.
@@yellowblanka6058 Yeah it's odd. I've even tried to EQ the sound on my Yamaha MG16XU mixer to boost the low end and lower the high end but it doesn't improve it much and it's nothing compared to mame sound. The Steam version at least is almost unplayable in comparison.
Thats werid, I watched a programmer and Gradius fan boy playing this collection and never mentioned that sound issues.

Lol this reviewer has no clue. Scramble was and still is a classic for us original arcade games. Gorf,Phoenix ,Galaxian ect ect. Be refreshing one day to see a grown up reviewing the original games as opposed to clueless TH-cam kids who’ve no idea of nostalgia
Scramble was the game that redefine the genre and start the 90's shootem up fever in Japan.

That is a shame, this are the most influential shooters that redefine the genre back in the day, the Legendary and the most imitated "Gradius", the game changer "scramble" and the fantastic "Salamander", the origin of the modern shootem ups and one of the best Konami shooters.

Oh my god... that is just crazy talk, this are the most influential games in the shooter history, this games are fundamental for the genere and completely redefine the shootem up standard for years to come...

Those is the worst collection. It was way better on the first gen consoles
