Neeeds a Pro Big Boy string head. trying to adapt one, but issue is the cooling fan is part of the original head and must be maintained. Sick of these crappy heads. I want dual 18" strings of .01 line (Big Boy Stuff w/ 4 cutting strings), NOT the Mommy does the driveway crap. The Kobalt 80V stuff is a Beast of a trimmer if somebody would give it a decent head. Got the 80V blower too.. very good, but not even close to the best gas blower.. the Echo PB-8010 AKA The GOD of Blowa's.
Nick Van there is a version that has attachment options. I didn’t realize that when I bought mine, so the one reviewed does not have the attachment capability. However, my neighbor has the same one with attachment capability and it seems to be of the same build quality.
Yes. The different battery capacities are the same height and depth, just longer. So 2.5ah is just shorter than a 6ah. They all work in any of the 80V equipment, the larger packs will just stick out more.
80v max blower is trash, first the battery then trigger problems. I exchanged after 2.5 years for a new ego 650 ....I still have he 80vmax weed eater, it works good still
Worst trimmer I’ve had. Loading is a nightmare. The “easy” load isn’t easy. It’s only “easy” to cut up your knuckles. To boot the aluminum shaft snapped on mine.
Awesome job on the review? Are you Fire Fighter? I ask because of the shirt. I’m excited to see your channel grow. I sub’d you my fellow creator. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
DO NOT BUY THIS TRIMMER!!! I own one of these trimmers and can tell you it works very well. The PROBLEM IS TRYING TO GET REPLACEMENT PARTS. I have been trying to get a new guard for over a year and even Kobalt does not have it. Buyer Beware.
Yeah between their 24V, 40V, and now 80V line, it seems they're more interested in putting out new lines of tools, rather than investing in and supporting one particular platform. It's unfortunate, because they're actually decent quality for home gamer/DIY use, and offer a decent value for the money. My recommendation is just buy a guard from any other brand, like Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, Ego, Makita. Most normal guards should fit just fine, try and find one that came on a 14"-16" swath trimmer.

Best trimmer I've bought off of a colleague for 70 bucks! Love the fact that you can use different attachments, too!
It really is a good and reliable trimmer. I don’t have one single regret.
Can use attachments?

You're trimming grass that looks like you trimmed it yesterday. How does it do in the foot tall grass?
think I could use this with my 6.0ah battery from my matching mower?

I have the 40 volt model . Thinking I need more power . Is the 80 volt worth the extra $ power wise ?
Buy the 50 to 1 premix with stabilizer. No need to mix.
Why do you need mixed fuel for a battery powered weed eater

What camera setup are you using for your FPV shots?

They also have 40 to 1 if you have that type fuel requirement for the 2 cycle.
