I was at this Emmylou Harris performance, which took place on September 9, 2007, at (the now closed) restaurant/venue called The Derby on Hillhurst Ave in Los Feliz, in the L.A. area; this was for a taping of a BBC4 special to-be-called "The Ten Commandments Of Country." Pretty special night to be in that crowd with many friends from work.

That is its origin - the churches and Christian spiritual tradition of the time. So instead of such vulgarity, why not educate yourself on the history, as well as on how to properly write and punctuate sentences? (But I'm sure all I'll get in return is more filthy talk and hatred.)
