- Helldivers 2 is a major success! With most successful games comes the rumor mill. This time around we have rumors from @XboxEra that early talks could be underway to bring Helldivers 2 to the Xbox platform. Do you think PlayStation would send Helldivers 2 to Xbox? Would you like to see Helldivers 2 on Xbox?
Helldivers 2 is a 2024 cooperative third-person shooter game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is the direct sequel to Helldivers, a 2015 top-down shooter. It was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows on 8 February 2024.

We need more “gamers come together” moments. I think Helldivers is an extremely rare moment of everyone wanting to be hand in hand, damn the corporations, damn the exclusives, damn the games with anti-consumer stores and services. This can be the lighthouse to which devs need to look to start another golden age of just “fun” games like in the 90s, early 2000s

I own a PC and Xbox, use to own a PlayStation 4 but all my friends stop playing PlayStation and moved onto PC , Xbox, or had kids.
I currently play Helldivers 2 on PC and would immediately purchase it on Xbox if it came out. This game deserves the love and praise it receives.
It does have flaws ofcourse, but the game, and community is a blast to be a part of.
As an Xbox player I must say I’m definitely jealous, I would definitely buy the deluxe edition in a pre order if it was ever brought to Xbox, but I’m not buying a separate console just to play a single game lol. So it’s unfortunate it’s exclusive but sometimes that’s how the coin flips, at least ready or not is apparently coming to console and gta 6 isn’t too far off.
PS5 is the first console i not had. Ive grown up with PS. I play on series x and im jealous also. I hope it happens.

It’s one thing to port a single player game but porting a live service title requires you to commit to its long term support. Making an Xbox port makes no sense given the small install base, the difficulties to optimize for the Series S, etc. If we ever see a Helldivers 2 Xbox port then because Microsoft will have made a big offer to Sony in terms of porting more of their first party games earlier to PlayStation, not because Sony felt they needed the extra revenue source
They have potential customers who want to purchase their product, and they are unable to sell to those customers because of some corporate red tape.

Also porting it to said consoles will be a waste of resources since one tends to support solely their own output while the other one are just glorified rental service users nothing more

What has overwhelmed me to the point of slowing down playing is the amount of major orders that I haven’t been able to participate in with only being able to play a few nights a week. I feel like I barely get to make an impact on one major order and then it’s over in an instant.
Just Playing one set of missions successfully is making an impact.

Sony does have a new CEO and probably the best pve game on Sony ever .. but considering there's so many PVE games coming out this year might be short live..watch out for Project LLL, Once Human , Last Descent.. but we just have to see

I'd argue that keeping it as an exclusive would make Sony more than shipping it onto Xbox. Anyone buying a P5 to play HD2 will inevitably result in them purchasing other Sony products, games, peripherals. Also instead of port begging, Xbox need to rise to the challenge and create compelling games themselves. Big Phil needs to get off his butt.
I literally bought a ps5 for this game a month ago. And have not played my series X since. I'd love it to still come to xbox, so to be able to play with my friends I had on xbox since the original console. But I agree, PlayStation have a gem here, and in my opinion it was worth buying a ps5 for it. Just my opinion. Yeah there are other games I'd like to try in the future, Horizon, that samurai game called Ghost something 😅 but damn. Helldivers 2 is amazing. And again I agree, 343 need... NEED to make a halo ODST version.
@@zenadastra totally agree. I have 2 hardcore Xbox friends buy P5s to play HD2. Ones even thinking about getting the VR peripheral. Exclusives differentiate you from your competitors. It's healthy competition which forces the product standards to rise. I have both systems, but honestly I wish Microsoft would create their own compelling IPs. It's desolate atm. @@mig1017 sadly I agree with you, I don't care for the console wars mentality, it's so pathetic, but I have both systems now, xbox have superior elements in opinion, the ergonomics of its controller, the graphical user interface, the social network and it's features, and gamepass is good value for money in my opinion. But..... as stupid as this sounds, it doesn't have Helldivers 2 🤣 Starfield was a disappointment, Halo infinite was a disappointment, Forza isn't my thing.... i have friends on xbox jokingly calling me a traitor etc, all in jest. But I reassure them, that helldivers 2 is actually a work of art, EVERYTHING, about it in my opinion is just incredible, yes a few.bugs, but wow. Arrowhead have absolutely smashed it put the park from various angles, and all...ALL big developers, especially 343... really really need to take note. But that's just my opinion.

No point in doing exclusives anymore if they do this. This is one of the few tempting games they had for players to jump

They've already maximized who will come over for single-player games, anyone who hasn't come already for SP games just isn't coming. But they've only just gotten started with multiplayer games.
I feel like the ones who won't move are Nintendo fans and u til SONY gets back into the handheld space. They should port their games over to Nintendo rather than PC
@benjamincurtis1412 The problem is Nintendo's devices are too underpowered to run their games. Maybe they will depending on what Nintendo's next console can handle.
PC is a smart move because they are the ones who don't move usually. Majority of PC players who consider themselves gamers don't have a console, hence why the man people who keep saying they hate exclusives tends to be PC players.

Kena and Horizon are also coming to xbox. Apparently, both consoles will have all older exclusive games after their yearly or 6 months releases

What's with all this misinformation? Where is this news of Horizon going to xbox coming from? And as for Helldivers, they OWN the IP so I really don't see that as likely. They aren't the ones having trouble selling games like xbox is, so I doubt they'd do it

That phil spencer comment, about who does exclusives help, just tells me clear as day, hes lost the plot and the point of console gaming.
Exclusives help to sell the console they are exclusive to.
And it rewards gamers of said console for their purchase.

Exclusives were the life blood of consoles and they still are!

Exclusives are the point of consoles!
Xbox and its fans know the role and importance of exclusive games. From Xbox' inception in 2001 to 2023 exclusives were great. From original Halo, Gears all the way to Starfield. Only now in 2024 with the recent pivot porting games to competitor platforms (forced due to Starfield underperforming and needing extra money from actual paying customers) are exclusives suddenly bad and help no one. He's attempting to use the situation to make Sony look bad, redefine the role of any Sony exclusive as a negative while still having 1st and 3rd party exclusives of their own.
As an P5 & XSX owner Microsoft just don't have any compelling games, current or upcoming. Can't believe Phil Spencer isn't fired already. Over a decade of decay. Starfield, Redfall are a joke. Gears of Wars glory days are over. Instead of port begging, rise to the challenge and create your own games.

I’ve been playing helldivers since release and am coming close on 300 hours played. I have so much more thought on this argument but both sides are very reasonable from your claim. Coming first from a huge bungie and 343 fan… I’ve grew up loving halo. Along with Star Wars, call of duty, Ect. When first playing helldivers 2, I instantly fell in love with the games machanics and the overall feel for it, the graphics, the environments, and how it reminded me so so much of halo, destiny 2, and Star Wars, but what all those games were really meant to be. A true Powerhouse of ideas and a game that came to reality. Picture this, this is the pitch, helldivers 2 let’s say in a year or 2 from now, finally releases on Xbox, and have a collaboration with HALO. The thought of dropping from my ship, that I named the “Hammer Of Dawn” into the world fighting for democracy fully suited up and geared out in “Full mjlinor/ Spartan armor” is the most thought provoking, extraordinary experience possible for all the Halo Fans. imagine your squad being the member of “halo reach” maybe even implementing skins for guns making them look as halo weapons possibly, or adding them in the game in GENERAL! I can completely see us picking up a needler from the illuminate faction and makes sense for it to be possible in helldivers based off that information . They are extraterrestrial beings with high power and capability with tech. OFC a needler will make sense for them to have made or have blueprints of. Helldiver armor is already beautiful as it is… but man… dropping in as a Spartan makes me feel like a little kid inside and very eager to see lasers fly, TERMID body parts soaring through the air, bombs flying and flames being brought on to the planet to restore democracy! I know for a fact millions want to see this happen, I’m not the only one,It just feels right…

@@pixeljauntvr7774they are both publishers and platform holders… sony lost 10 BILLION dollars in stock value and in order to save money they have announced that no new first party games will be out till 2025. Microsoft although dropping 30 percent in console sales, their revenue has increased exponentially after the ABK deal. Hiroki totoki is reassessing PlayStations financial situation and is also following Microsoft’s mindset in reaching as many players as possible to gain more revenue in new areas. That is why they are reaching out to PC just like MS. Console sales are stagnating and games are costing too much money and time to make. Sony needs to think bigger than just the console and think about having a bigger grasp on the industry by focusing on their publishing side and building a digital platform to reach as many players as possible

I understand Xbox is the “red headed step child” of gaming. I also understand this is the case because of Xbox and Microsoft’s own doing just like games not coming to Xbox is NO one’s fault except Xbox and Microsoft. I dont understand being a consumer and sticking with a company to where you constantly are looking over at another platform and wishing you could play the games over there when you can easily turn your old console in and purchase a new one. After all the rumors of how games are starting to skip Xbox because the lack of players and enthusiasm over there I don’t see how any of this talk of PlayStation bringing any games to Xbox to gain money makes any sense.
It should be released on xbox, Sony players had a hissy fit and cried when xbox bought COD and bitched till they agreed... Bringing helldivers 2 to xbox will only bring a higher player count, bigger community and a higher revenue stream. As much as it would be cool to have it on xbox. I don't want it to. The game has enough problems as is. And xbox has the worst update verification process ever. I dont want to wait 3 weeks longer than we already are for a bugfix because we have xbox now and have to wait for the process.

I have a counter argument, Sony does not need xbox. Sony should port to ps4, switch and setup for switch 2. They could gain 250 million customers and dominate with this live service. They dont need xbox because they would be in the way of the PC space.
I heard online connectivity for switch games are very poor.

Well, if that's your argument, my opinion would be that this game stole ip from gamesworkshop... terminids are 100% copy's of tyranids and not to mention another games bugs "defiance" And then the robot faction just looks like shitty space marines, and then there's the new mech 100% dreadnought from 40k, so being elitist and claiming original ip is absolutely false. @legacyofkaz4107 Highly doubtful, I see no original content in this game as good as it looks, and as fun, but games workshop has been around since the 70s, and defiance is older than helldivers... The game is definitely not an original ip, it's just Starship troopers with warhammer 40k ip theft.
Putting it on Xbox is such a bad idea. I’m sorry but that community is the most vocal with the least sales, playtime and consistency. Imagine how muddied the feedback would be for the devs. At least with the PS and PC fanbases they have a reputation of giving better feedback. I’m sorry but I’d much rather they port the game to the switch 2 and ignore Xbox completely

Plenty of articles, sales records for physical and digital, comments from publishers and studios, senior developers and etc. The court documents that were released/leaked also add credence to what I’m saying. In terms of the discourse, it’s a lot more anecdotal but an hour digging through tweets and forums would do the trick. We’d all be better off as gamers if Xbox was successful so I really wish I was wrong

Helldivers 2 being on xbox isnt a bad thing because the devs owns the ip because sony lost the rights to the ip now just last week because of how big the game was on pc if it wasnt on pc the game would of been DOA on only ps5 okay im glad a game like this is going on xbox because the devs wants to put it on xbox because of how big the player base is on xbox so why is it a big deal to put any game on xbox why cant games just be games who cares if it goes on other platforms im glad that the devs are putting on xbox anyway just meens more fun for anyone
