I never really thought about it, but this video has captured how scary it would be to live in the world these monsters inhabit. Think about it, when we play the MH games, we are hunters. And our main characters are not just your standard hunters, our main characters become prodigies capable of slaying Elder Dragons. But imagine it from the perspective of just a normal human. To be surrounded by animals that have the capabilities to view you as prey, and the tools and weapons to quite easily make you a quick snack. Even the weakest monsters we all meme about, The Jagras and Great Jagras, could potentially be a fatal encounter. I appreciate this video for capturing the essence of what a monster is in Monster Hunter.
That is why it is good that monster places where we hunt monsters are far from civilization; the villages and outposts that are our bases are quite remote and despite hunts being instant in the lore often days of travel happen before and after a hunt begins.

WHY DID TH-cam ONLY JUST NOW DECIDE TO SHOW THIS TO ME THIS IS SO COOL I've always wanted to see someone highlight the aspects of monster hunter that are often not touched on by the normal games, like how an average civilian with no hunting experience or powerful weapons/armor must feel dealing with a monster threat Especially when some of the monsters, even the smaller ones like Jagras, are frankly quite scary when you think about them (Great Jagras could literally swallow you whole)
Analogue horror PSA tapes and Monster Hunter in an IRL setting. Why is this the first time I've seen this great idea? I probably haven't been looking hard enough.
This video looks real and the quality is amazing, and the many photos that come out in between make it feel even more real, and as someone who usually draws and creates these monsters, some of the photos are information I've never seen before, so they're even more helpful! 👍=)👍
Tape: Do not attempt to feed, pet or ride a Tobi-Kadachi for any reason, no matter how "friendly" they may appear to be. Me: F--- this! (proceeds to climb over a fence of an enclosure full of Tobi-Kadachis) This will be worth it! They're my favorite monsters after all.
Girros as an invasive species throughout north america is uniquely horrifying. Like, every monster hunter in a real world ecology is scary in a way, like the idea of a Greater Jagras reaching a highway, but THOSE fuckers stalking out at night sends chills down my back
@@adriannash2705 It's probably relatively safe as long as you are inside the truck. The truck is big, loud, made of metal, and unaffected by their paralytic spit, so they'll probably mistake it for some huge monster and flee when they see their spit (their main weapon against larger monsters) doesn't work on it. Girros #3 - Dude, wtf was up with that weird looking Basarios!? Girros #5 - I dunno man, but it ignored the boss' spit and ran him over! Let's get tf outta here!! The only real danger is if the Great Girros lunges at the front of the truck at just the right angle to crash through the windshield, or if you're the guy who hangs on to the outside of the truck.
I can't express how much it was worth the wait, it was really fascinating as well as terrifying (Girros are truly scary) to watch it and I look forward to the next one. c:
Imagine a commercial that goes like the scene with the camper fleeing the Girros, only for the Hunter/Player Character and party show up to save the day (well, save the night)! Sh%t would be sick as hell!
I love how the monsters are living side-by-side by humans in the modern day world and I love how you explain how dangerous the monsters really are towards humans
I'm starting to get the plot. Monsters are moving towards humanity because an Elder Dragon is attacking/taking over their territory while the N.O.W. organization wants to cover up the very existence of elders
This really drives home that Girros are kinda boring compared to other monsters in their own universe... But absolutely HORRIFYING if you take them outside their own turf. Imagine walking your dog at night in the country and coming across a pack of wolf_sized snakes with legs and their leader the size of a car, next thing you know you're paralyzed unable to scream for help as it eats you and your dog alive...
Seeing how the next episode will be bird wyverns I can only fear what the yian garugas section will be due to how intelligent and aggressive they are. Say some poachers are trying to catch a yian kut-ku but mistake the garuga to be one only to realize the traps they set up were destroyed and they are being hunted by the garuga picked off one by one.
It can't simply be a low tier elder either. Group's of monsters won't run this far from something like a Kushala... What if it's an A....... I'd rather pet the Dodo instead to the Tobi tbh.
@Beeschurger_ WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT ONES NAME INSTEAD!?! DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW DEVASTATING THE RAMPAGE WAS!? .... N.O.W. Is most certainly after you for mentioning it's name, anything like that one or, God forbid, stronger have had info about them kept secret from the masses for a REASON.
I managed to gain high level clearance from the guild to access the records and historical data involving the storm you all seem to worry, well guess what you absolutely should the intensity of the storm surpasses the amount that a Kushala Daora nor its golden counterpart could ever emit.... Ever wondered why it mostly targets Zino-o-o-o ... I would like to keep a gammoth as a pet btw
@kennethsatria6607 Yes it’s a great monster i would still put it on my top twenty I was just saying it’s ok to not pick it for number i mean i don’t think it deserved to win the number 1 spot on the polls this year
Amazing, I love all the little details crammed in and the (I assume) concept art sourced from the games. These are probably my favorite pieces of content you've put out.
For clarity, I am writing this as I find them in the video for the first time so there might be a few inconsistencies. The single frame on 4:48 has what looks to be a report, with most of the text on a Caesar cipher that shifts A-E (as shown on the title of said report). According to this, N.O.W. has (obviously) been keeping track of the monsters. Counting how many are alive, dead. How many sightings there have been. Seems like Dodogama is also extinct in the wild, which might imply there might be some in captivity but that feels like a stretch on my part (RIP my boy Dodo, I'm just hoping he's okay). Curiously, Odogaron, Zinogre, Stygian Zinogre, and Magnamalo have been marked "NO ACTIVITY" despite Odogaron clearly having a pretty active role in the footage. This seems to be supported in 9:03 with the summary of the report. In addition to this, the last bullet point states that NW (New World?) Zinogre are becoming more active than OW (Old World?) variants. Also this states that "Dodogama populations are feeding more." and it might lend credence to what I said about there being captive Dodogama, or at least ones kept in a protected area. At 16:15, there looks to be some writing on the report itself and says "We understand your complaints about the statistics of the report, please read the summary for a better understanding" and the name of the person that wrote that part is scratched out. At 20:03 has a small bit of text in the same Caesar Cipher shift as before and states: "Please report any abnormal sightings to local authorities. Contact info for the NDA: (5-12-4-5-18-4-18-1-7-15-14). Still no idea what these numbers mean. At 20:32, there is what appears to be a white board with some newspaper clippings, photos, and what looks to be a map of sorts? The photo has writings around them that are the following: Why does N.O.W. track storms? ~What are they hiding? The newspaper clipping is of the previous one about the Great Girros attack, with the writing one the board about it being: Why go west now? What is there? Underneath it is what looks to be a torn piece of something, with a red mark on it. I assume it is a map but I am very skeptical about that. Below it, written is: Are they running? This is then followed immediately with a still frame of a video with text at the bottom saying: IT IS SLEEPING. The still frame appears to be the very end frame of the footage of the guy chasing away the Girros. That is all I have found. I love this animation to bits, and I will be digging through the other videos to see what else I can find later today.
This series is genuinely peak. The animations feel so lifelike, the analog parts are well made and the instructions are realistic (none of that Mandela “jUsT uNaLiVe uRsElF LoL”) all combined to really show off just how terrifying MH’s menagerie can really be if given the chance. I eagerly await whatever this series brings forth next.
that scene with the jagras pack just made me think about how cool a MH movie done in the same horror style as the original jurassic park series would be
Holy shit, this is fantastic. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one of these! Genuinely my only complaint was the lack of my beloved Dodogama, but he might be a bit too cute for the atmosphere this series is going for.
I love this so much, it’s super well made and I really hope you do more of these!! I love the found-footage analog horror genre and this has quickly become my favorite MH video! Keep up the amazing work!

WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS WHEN IT CAME OUT, I ONLY FOUND IT BECAUSE OF THE CLEAR FOUND FOOTAGE ONE I had noticed found footage I didn't remember and went to check the channel I absolutely loved the first one and really wanted more episodes, the fact TH-cam never gave me a notification for this despite being subscribed is criminal This was amazing! Incredibly well done and the secrets were a very nice touch! I'm also mad that I didn't turn on subtitles and missed a couple extra things because of it lol
Dude holy shit this was amazing Love the atmosphere, the integration of the monsters into a world where modern humanity never made contact with them before etc I rarely like videos but this? Holy shit this was so good
Bonus fact I completely made up and is my headcanon: Fanged Wyverns are not true reptiles, rather they are a part of a group of animals called synapsids, which includes mammals like humans, Bullfangoes and Rajangs. Fanged Wyverns can be divided into two groups; the reptile-likes include Jagras, Girros and Dodogama, while the mammal-likes include Tobi-Kadachi, Zinogre and Wulgs. The reptile-likes are characterized by them retaining basal features from the common ancestors of reptiles and synapsids, while the mammal-likes are more derived and possess many mammalian traits like fur, differing sets of teeth and lactation in some species. This is based off of how in real life, some non-mammalian synapsids are often mistaken for reptiles, particularly earlier species like Edaphosaurus and Ophiacodon, while later species featured many traits that mammals would eventually have.
Yeah they absolutely would, funnily enough there was actually consideration for this, however The_GBC13 (creator of this series) wanted to stick with how MH’s classification system works so that everyone can understand what info is actually given to us. So instead of complicating things with new scientific names, he stuck to MH’s classifications for the sake of familiarity and simplicity for all viewers. (Many of which ironically watch our videos without having ever played Monster Hunter)
Well according to the hidden messages deciphered by others Dodogama is labeled as “[Extinct in Wild]” Other than that IDK cause I didn’t make this video. I’m as blind to this plot as the rest of you.

EDIT 2: E-L-D-E-R-D-R-A-G-O-N
I actually tried, thank you so much, by the way what's the code system's name so i can try it too?
@@riyadkanos8487 its a 4 shift Caesar cipher so A -> E B - F C -> G
then for the numbers its just a simple 1 -> A 2 -> B 3 -> C
@@wafflefraud7596 thank you! you're a genius!!!
@@riyadkanos8487 lolol what he said! I don't know the names of the ciphers, I just know they exist :P
A 20 minute long video?! You’re giving us more than we deserve
When your cat placed the gadget shock trap without your consent
WHY DID TH-cam ONLY JUST NOW DECIDE TO SHOW THIS TO ME THIS IS SO COOL
I've always wanted to see someone highlight the aspects of monster hunter that are often not touched on by the normal games, like how an average civilian with no hunting experience or powerful weapons/armor must feel dealing with a monster threat
Especially when some of the monsters, even the smaller ones like Jagras, are frankly quite scary when you think about them (Great Jagras could literally swallow you whole)
jesus the tobi-kadachi's eyes in the dark bushes.. i LOVE this shit please do more like this!!
Alternate universe where Monster Hunter was the horror game and Resident Evil the action rpg
Resident Evil the action rpg is just DMC lmao
im imagining the "man's first attempt at canine domestication colorized" meme but its tobi kadachi
You get that feeling in Monster Hunter Stories 2.
More and more, I'm amazed that humanity managed to survive in the ever hostile world of monster hunter lmao
Honestly would love seeing more things of that. Nakarkos would be absolutely horrifying.
So much untapped horror potential in Monster Hunter, it is amazing.
If not friend, why friend shaped?
(I'd happily join you in that endeavor homie)
Girros as an invasive species throughout north america is uniquely horrifying. Like, every monster hunter in a real world ecology is scary in a way, like the idea of a Greater Jagras reaching a highway, but THOSE fuckers stalking out at night sends chills down my back
Dude imagine being a garbage truck driver and you’re out on your 5-6am pick up route and there’s a pack of Girros surrounding the truck
@@OmniGman that would be pretty funny
Holy. Shit. This is absolutely your best work, and it's not even close. I can't imagine the amount of effort that went into this, amazing job.
I can't express how much it was worth the wait, it was really fascinating as well as terrifying (Girros are truly scary) to watch it and I look forward to the next one. c:
0:11 Downy Crake spotted 👀
I feel like Capcom needs to just hire you for the next movie, clearly superior quality here.
Also would make solid promo for MH Now.
Imagine a commercial that goes like the scene with the camper fleeing the Girros, only for the Hunter/Player Character and party show up to save the day (well, save the night)! Sh%t would be sick as hell!
When flightless bird wyverns pulls up in this series, that would be like jp analog horror. I am in love with these series
Wonder which elder tho
@@korokseed1619 my guess is Amatsu or the Storm Serpents (Ibushi and Narwa) are fucking shit up
I think this elder dragon can be him....
F.a.t.a.l.i.s
@@user-d4talllest Highly doubt
@@user-d4talllestI hope not, or else the Now verse is fd
would absolutely binge watch the hell out of a series like this
Bro puts more effort in this than Capcom in both their MH movies.
Another fact to consider: Almost all of these Fanged Wyvern roars are VERY loud.
Say some poachers are trying to catch a yian kut-ku but mistake the garuga to be one only to realize the traps they set up were destroyed and they are being hunted by the garuga picked off one by one.
good golly gosh oh how i cant wait for an informative trivia video about all of mh’s fanged wyverns, premiering on september 14, 11:00 am central
Bro you are incredible! I love Monster Hunter and really liked Vita Carnis. This is amazing to watch and I’m excited for what you make next!

Sooo... N.O.W is tracking storms, huh......
I wonder if it's caused by a monster, like an eld-
........
Anyways, i will pet a tobi
It can't simply be a low tier elder either. Group's of monsters won't run this far from something like a Kushala... What if it's an A.......
I'd rather pet the Dodo instead to the Tobi tbh.
I would think it’s Kushala, but they mentioned how the Zinogres were controlled by an e-e-e-
So maybe it’s ibushi
Ever wondered why it mostly targets Zino-o-o-o

I would like to keep a gammoth as a pet btw

PLEASE MORE. I REALLY LIKE THIS IF IT BECOMES A SERIES.
Amazing, I love all the little details crammed in and the (I assume) concept art sourced from the games. These are probably my favorite pieces of content you've put out.
I love how in vidoes like this things we consider a joke as hunters are so utterly terrifying.
This is awesome. My birthday is in a few days and I love this analog horror take on Monster Hunter, so this is a treat.
Zinogre when you or your cat places a shock trap
(5-12-4-5-18-4-18-1-7-15-14) is a1z26 cipher for "elderdragon"
This series is genuinely peak. The animations feel so lifelike, the analog parts are well made and the instructions are realistic (none of that Mandela “jUsT uNaLiVe uRsElF LoL”) all combined to really show off just how terrifying MH’s menagerie can really be if given the chance. I eagerly await whatever this series brings forth next.
"don't feed, pet, or ride a Tobi-Kadachi"
I want a fucking Flying squirrel half electric wolf
Jargas nightmare fuel on its way.
that scene with the jagras pack just made me think about how cool a MH movie done in the same horror style as the original jurassic park series would be
"Reports of Girros being much more aggressive towards other monsters, with some exceptions"
Shows a Deviljho
No shit.
A series/game set in a modern monster hunter world would be crazy, I’d love to see something like that
Late to the part but atuff like this is absolutely why I fell in love with Monster Hunter in the first place! I'm gonna share this
I cannot get over how good these are, analog horror + monster hunter works so well
Absolutely bonkers, I hope there will be more parts in the future

Thank you for helping me (NOT) sleep at night. With this information I feel incredibly (NOT) safe. I will gladly sponsor and support the N.O.W to make such (NOT) safe and incredible guides in the future.
Wow bro! It's scary! Please continue this series!
This was really cool. I didn't know you guys were doing more!
I love this series of Videos! Can't wait for more quality content like that :D
WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF THIS WHEN IT CAME OUT, I ONLY FOUND IT BECAUSE OF THE CLEAR FOUND FOOTAGE ONE
I had noticed found footage I didn't remember and went to check the channel
I absolutely loved the first one and really wanted more episodes, the fact TH-cam never gave me a notification for this despite being subscribed is criminal
This was amazing! Incredibly well done and the secrets were a very nice touch! I'm also mad that I didn't turn on subtitles and missed a couple extra things because of it lol
Dude holy shit this was amazing
Love the atmosphere, the integration of the monsters into a world where modern humanity never made contact with them before etc
I rarely like videos but this?
These are SO good, thank you for this
I need more videos in this style. Right now.
Hunters from the guild are not unknown in this world, but instead held as heroes
i love this type of content please make more :3
This is incredible work, thank you so much for doing a part 2!
Y'ALL COOKED HARD FAM, WOULD LOVE TO EAT MORE IN THE FUTURE.
I feel like monsters would have straight up scientific names in a more modern setting rather than using terms like, "fanged wyvern"
@@TeaCommonShark do you think any species of monsters went extinct in the time passed from medieval times to modern times?
Well according to the hidden messages deciphered by others Dodogama is labeled as “[Extinct in Wild]”
Other than that IDK cause I didn’t make this video. I’m as blind to this plot as the rest of you.
@TeaCommonShark wait does that mean that people keep dodos as pets?
