You covered almost all reasons, but I’d like to add one more. In Northern Plains of India, the type of soil found is the Alluvial soil. This is a very light soil which has been deposited in the region over the years by the great Himalayan rivers. A faint breeze is enough to lift this fine dust and deposit it around. Also, movement of vehicles makes this dust even finer, thus making it even lighter to be lifted by tyres of moving vehicles and blowing wind. In the absence of green patches and grasses due to constant movement of people and vehicle, this dust never settles and make the northern part of the country extremely dusty. This phenomenon is less seen in regions with heavier soil like the areas with Red, Yellow and black soils. Due to these soils beng heavier for the wind to lift, this dustyness is comparatively very less in Central and Southern India.
Ya here the corporations leave mud by the road side without covering it with asphalt or removing the mud. Other countries evrything on the streets is covered
City planning. If we look at places with crooked street using Google maps. Makes me wonder what came first the houses or the roads that connects. Also in the past there used to be parks and small water bodies, water bodies are also an great alternative to keep the dust under limits.

But this is not the answer to this question arab countries are in desert but if you go their it you will experience fresh air than india no heat and even not so heat like India
I will give you the answer. Most of India's roads are paved using tar that is gravel and tar. it is not pure asphalt nor pure concrete. it is just a low quality road. it disintegrates and produces dust.
The difference is the outlook, the attitude. We have accepted it (dust) as part of our lives so we really dont care to an extent that we start to address the root cause. Developed countries meticulously maintain their habitat and over time, because of their outlook, they have a better system in place which they have slowly built. They have sorted out many things.
Nicely spoke, Same goes with dirt, in societies , colonies where there is garbage, dirty empty plots , open sewage tunnels, but no one even bothers , because they accept it like nothing and don't care, Making the country artistically beautiful , building tourist attractions and having attractive landscape is a far off dream Need to tidy up dirt first , even that seems like a big task 😂
U really got the point( we got habitual) , while at the age of 30, i realised this today that so much dust in home is not ok and something should be done to prevent it. and i was searching for the prevention and found this video.
Climate is just an excuse. Eg I am from tropical Kerala - but cities here are just as dusty as any other part of india. But other Tropical cities like Kuala Lumpur or Singapore are spic & span.

You are covering every question which i have in my mind. This maybe a coincidence or maybe your working hard for your channel by doing the great research. However kudos to you and your work❤️
There are quite a few ways to avoid it - I have seen in Himalayas as well for example a lot of dusty dry patches. First of all if it rains so much in one season of the year, why not build artificial lakes everywhere? If you go to a lot of European countries you will notice even there quite a few differences. For example Switzerland has a lot of man made lakes everywhere, household waste water gets treated and is turned into artificial rivers/lakes as well. Which is why you will find Switzerland very green even in the coldest of winters, whereas if you go to other parts of Europe, even adjoining countries you will not notice this amount of greenery. Also, if you didn't know if you go to less developed parts of Eastern Europe you will notice more and more dustiness in air. It is simply a matter of will. I don't believe in excuses. Now second part - large scale cutting of trees for farming - why do we eat just wheat and rice as primary staples, when even Ayurveda is against it? If we plant fruit trees all over the country instead of just cutting forests for rice and wheat and on top of that plant seasonable vegetables, you get once again a lot of greenery. Now to feed these trees water in dry seasons, if there are plenty of fresh water lakes built instead of huge farms, owing of very mild weather in India in winter, a lot of those trees would grow. Third - stop eating meat and providing incentive for meat industry or even better introduce high quality meat so that the prices are so high that people only eat it once in a while, which is also healthy for both nature and humans. This reduces the need to cut trees for grazing. Fourth - develop economy around ecology rather than using concrete and steel everywhere. For example, promoting growing of trees which can be used for construction and for day to day tools like cups, plates, bottles and so on. Or for example, introducing ponds on every farm for rain water harvesting promotes fish which again produce bio waste which is natural fertilizer. Similarly all the shrubs and medicinal plants that grow around them provide an additional source of income. Not to mention lakes become spots of tourism. Fifth - improve soil quality. Instead of just throwing all the bio waste into garbage actually compost should be made out of it and put into soil. A rich soil if you go and see in Europe has much much darker texture than completely degraded soil in India which is almost muddy. This also increases water retention rate of the soil and prevents flooding. Having an ecosystem like I mentioned above is needed before that. Sixth - completely stop usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which destroy the nature of the soil by killing all the helpful microbes and insects in it. Instead use cow dung as manure. However, since the soil quality is so poor in India (especially north), the resulting cow dung doesn't have much nutrients either (because of which it is brown - when I was younger it had far darker texture). So instead we need to create industry in cities that collects bio waste from home and builds compost rather than just burning it as fuel (just plain stupid). Seventh - we need to stop mindless usage of water in farms, which itself is a symptom of poor modern day eating habit of Indians which are far away from Ayurveda which I mentioned before. Instead of flooding the entire farms with water, use drip irrigation. The same can be done for trees. And if ponds are constructed in every farm as rain water harvesting, there would always be enough water for that. Eight - where evaporation rate is very high, the lakes/ ponds can be covered with floating solar panels, or where unaffordable planted with water plants like lotus for purification of water and for providing shade to the pond. Additionally, the pond can be surrounded by fruit trees which provide additional shade. Ninth - use stones. In every European city all kinds of soil is always covered with small pebbles. Why? Because it first prevents earth from getting dry. Second, even if top layer gets a little dry, it prevents dust from going into the air as the soil is covered by stones. Not to mention it enables small insects and organisms like earthworms to survive the dry weather and maintain the eco cycle. Do NOT use goddam concrete everywhere, because it prevents the soil and the insects beneath it from breathing. The pores between small pebbles enables air to reach the soil and enables sufficient oxygenation of soil. This will also reduce the needs to water the trees. A classic mistake made in all Indian cities even the planned parts is to leaves the soil just uncovered which dries out with time. I actually as a child lived in an agricultural university in Punjab and no we did not get dust there simply because on large massive banyan trees, mango trees, and all other kinds of trees were planted there. It is a pity and frustrating to see when people say this is how it is. I disagree with this approach. And please don't take this as a rant. I just shared multiples solutions that anyone in India can build a business around and at the same time benefit the ecology.
@rishab dhar Very well explained and excellent detailed points. Great points for business students and politicians to consider for overall financial and health wealth. I appreciate for taking taking time for all the points and definitely creates great awareness to many which is much needed especially for the youth. I agree with all your points except for the consumption of meat. Meat is also necessary for overall health but variety of meat should be encouraged like the fish and other sea food and also vegetables are super underconsumed in India. Most of items contains just onions, tomatoes, wheat, rice, chicken and that's it - making it people getting less nutrients which overall are much needed for best performance in mental and physical health which makes everyone and the environment rich😉
this is a gift from god to india only india retains its soil fertility no other place can . stop taking dusty dusty because of this dust we get fertile soil . be happy for what god has given . we are blessed we have these seasons

Information in the video is wrong.. your answer is somewhat right but needs more deep clarification..
No, most of the European cities are also unplanned
Awesome video, thanks. You were really able to demystify an issue which had lingered on my mind for decades.
The most important reason is- construction materials, broken road, unplanned footpaths and gutters, no strict action on trucks carrying soil.....
City planning. If we look at places with crooked street using Google maps. Makes me wonder what came first the houses or the roads that connects.
Also in the past there used to be parks and small water bodies, water bodies are also an great alternative to keep the dust under limits.
Yeah, look at Dubai, in desert+under construction and still perfectly clean

I will give you the answer. Most of India's roads are paved using tar that is gravel and tar. it is not pure asphalt nor pure concrete. it is just a low quality road. it disintegrates and produces dust.
The difference is the outlook, the attitude.
We have accepted it (dust) as part of our lives so we really dont care to an extent that we start to address the root cause.
Developed countries meticulously maintain their habitat and over time, because of their outlook, they have a better system in place which they have slowly built. They have sorted out many things.
Nicely spoke, Same goes with dirt, in societies , colonies where there is garbage, dirty empty plots , open sewage tunnels, but no one even bothers , because they accept it like nothing and don't care,
Making the country artistically beautiful , building tourist attractions and having attractive landscape is a far off dream
Need to tidy up dirt first , even that seems like a big task 😂
U really got the point( we got habitual) , while at the age of 30, i realised this today that so much dust in home is not ok and something should be done to prevent it. and i was searching for the prevention and found this video.
Climate is just an excuse. Eg I am from tropical Kerala - but cities here are just as dusty as any other part of india.
But other Tropical cities like Kuala Lumpur or Singapore are spic & span.
So what you think the reason is?

I used to live Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Till 2007-08 it had greenery and ample amount of rain. After that things starting fall down where average rain become very low through out the year. And 2nd thing is, lot of trees were cut down under name of construction and road development. So these 2 factor cause it a most dustiest city I ever lived, whenever I visit their it feel hell of dust while driving on road.

Jammu is not beautiful like Switzerland but somehow himachal is but still can't compare with Switzerland.
👏👏
Stop chemical fertilizers … like Sri lanka?
Very well explained 👍
