- I've heard you guys... You guys have warned me about Goodman in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum and as per usual, I NEED to fight him! Nothing can stop me now... maybe except for a cheap boss like him! Let me know if there are other boss rage characters I should fight against!

Just reaching Goodman is already a pain in the ass.
Yup, I remember playing this game on an actual Arcade back in 2012 and I was saw as a hero as I was the only player to be able to get the Goodman fight as nobody knew the conditions (aside of the operator), eventually I took down all of the operator's high KO scores to the point he and I ended up competing each other, my best run was around 30 KO's and it is a shame that I can't see my own score anymore at the arcade.

That switching characters pattern timer scam was truly an old school piece of tech on display. That's how you have to do it in these old games. Take everything that works against a human and toss it out the window immediately.
I just imagine this scenario.
Boss: "I will bring ultimate destruction to the planet and everyone!"
Battle rages on, timer dings. Boss: "OK well you win..."
Funny enough and I'm glad justin noticed as well is that Goodman isn't as hard as King Lion. King lion is on a whole different level
Yup, Goodman just hardly let you do stuff, but he clearely shows that factor is ALSO his big weakeness (depending on which character you use, you can cheese him out, like Terry just using Burn Knuckle, Marco's Heavy Machine Gun, Haohmaru's high slash attack, Akari's DP with HK to fall over Goodman, etc... however some need to have the perfect distance to do the cheese like Hotaru), King Leo at the other hand... you really need to figure out how to aproach (also King Leo has somewhat a hard time against command grabs, that is pretty much his only weakness... and that doesn't help much compared of how you can deal with Goodman), Mizuchi has his own cheap stuff and Neo Dio has one more move than the playable version and just like in World Heroes Perfect, one of his DM's is unblockable, but other than that Neo Dio as a boss is low tier (not easy, but back when I fought him the 1st time, despite losing the match I got really close with 2 characters I suck a lot, something that I could not say the same for the other 3 bosses).
Only way I beat him was with Haromaru/standing strong slash. Takes off 75% life per hit.
Yeah, without that cheese, Goodman can be quite difficult until you figure out his AI, Haohmaru has that match as the easiest, standing strong slash when Goodman does his attacks can potentially end up with a Perfect victory.

This was hilarious, but on a serious note it's actually fun to see a very skilled player such as Justin taking on these cheap AIs
Justin is the type to fight Jiren get bodied and the Tournament of Power's time runs out and Justin says *"FREE"* with all the blood and scars on him
Goodman's got more combo breakers than a KI character, but you can't break a combo if the other player's just laming you out 🙂
2:30 I'm pretty sure this was the ai actually doing the guard cancel. A feature they brought back from svc chaos where pressing forward twice would get you out of blockstun almost instantly. Allowing you to punish moves that are normally safe.
not just guard cancel, but it's a guard cancel blowback which exists in KOF too and done with CD. The guard cancel emergency roll also exists in KOF. SvC Chaos has 2 types including the one you mentioned tapping forward twice

@@darylcastillo1439 XD. If your using Haohmaru you have tô play against 2 bosses. Go on training and go against King Lion and Mizuchi(even on training they still have The regen and CPU only boss moves) and see if you can win. You will have tô defeat then both as theres no time on training só time out strats is out;). I used tô do it alot for fun back then on Max difficult.
Haohmaru is truly built different in this game and he ain't even top tier lmao

for everything Goodman is and isn't... like most of this OST, his theme is AMAZING. like I actually heard it way before I was able to get it on ps2 and was like, WHO IS THIS SONG FOR? I've only fought Goodman ONCE the entire time I've owned this game... it wasn't fun lol.
the Arranged OST version of Goodman's theme is so much better. It's definitely one of their best theme

Once you figure out Goodman, he's not really that hard (King Leo is easily the hardest boss of the game and Neo Dio the easiest overall), and with the right moves you can time out him easily, some characters can KO him easy like Haohmaru with just 1 single normal move.

@@bighamgrizles lol nah, there's an easy way with Haohmaru, Genjyuro. And Kyo and anyone with a good overhead crossup can get him on a loop on wakeup
Really king leo is hard?
I defeated him easily with lots of characters including mars people on the hardest difficulty setting.
I find mizuchi much more cheap.
@@loiedonn4192 It depends, Mizuchi is kinda unpredictable what he does, Neo-Dio feels like a harder standard character overall (hence why is the easiest... especially if you played World Heroes Perfect in the past, as excluding the few extra trick he has, he's overall no different from said game) and King Leo while he can be hard at 1st, he's kinda predictable in the long run (I still find him harder than Mizuchi and Goodman personally) and Goodman is veeery predictable but he's difficult because you have to find the best stuff to do with the characters you use as he likes to give you no time to break between his attacks.

The fact that Jwong is literally the godfather of high level fighting gameplay and he won by timeout shows you how stupid busted SNK bosses truly were. You really have to break the game to beat them its so dumb but I love it
It's stupid game design. They were made to make you waste money on the arcades.

It mostly shows how exploitable SNK bosses could be. Justin goes for the easy safe path to victory (simple combos, simple powerful characters, etc), and will switch to the lamest tactics he can find when that isn't enough. Even the video editor inserts jokes about Justin exploiting timeout victories. Heck, he beat Fighting Layer by using an unplayable busted sub-boss (enabled through an emulator cheat?) capable of glitching outside the arena boundary.
@@BainesMkII Yeah, and let's be honest, we love to be as cheap as possible against the AI, I still remember how painfull was my 1st experience against Goodman, people at the arcades got shocked to see the true final boss of the game as they never managed to figure out how to make him appear (except for the arcade operator), after that, a lot of people tried their luck against Goodman but all of them ended up in failure, eventually I was able to fill the KO scores of the arcade game with my own performances as I was able to consistently reach and beat Goodman on my 1st try of each run and it became a contest between me and the arcade operator to keep our scores.
Justin's an expert at high level fighting gameplay against HUMANS. Humans can be predicted and outplayed if you have better intuition and reaction time, which he definitely has. None of that means anything against the computer that literally intercepts your button inputs and applies pre-programmed counters on those interceptions.

I'd still like to play you in this sometime, probably will meet in another online tournament if nothing else (I got 2nd in the last Final Round this was at where Justin got first).

Even though I suck at fighting games I can put up with a lot of boss bs, I mean I have to be able to put up with it as KOF is my 3rd favourite fighting series. But just watching this boss I can tell he's one boss I would just give up trying to beat because I wouldn't think it's worth it lol

He did that on a stream, he considered unworthy of a video (he beated Neo Dio on his 1st try, he's easily the most fair boss of NGBC overall... yeah, he has some cheap stuff but way more tolerable compared to the other 3 bosses, and one of his DM's being unblockable... if you have played World Heroes Perfect, you already know that specific DM must be avoided instead of trying to block... the playable version had that unblockable part nerfed).
You've faced 3 out of the 4 bosses. Neo Dio needs to be beat by all of Panda or just by yourself.
This guy has almost ivan ooze energy minus the s and armor. He's the one I always struggled on unless I cheesed him with marco and haohmaru. You also need to dash cancel or he will just frametrap you over and over again. It's a mechanics check boss.

The fact that this guy looks a little like Igniz is a red flag straight away. He isn't the hardest of the bosses in this game but he is the definition of cheap. I mean, he just stands there spamming the same moves lol.

Having played Neo Geo Battle Coliseum multiple times, I have to say Goodman is one of the most annoying bosses in any fighting game. He's even more difficult than Magaki in KOF XI!
