Just so you know, I'm from Singapore and Old Chang Kee has a history of selling the puffs from a cart and cooked the pastries there and then and sold it from the cart before selling his product to a businessman who made it more famous and many old generations in Singapore loves the taste of the curry puffs. The country of Malaysia will literally declare war on your channel if you make Mamee Monster a Singaporean snack. Jokes aside, excited for the video! EDIT: Saw the disclaimer there, partly forgiven I guess :)
I've had them, and to be honest, they're kinda too eggy for me. Like, they leave a weird sandy texture in my mouth. But if I had one in front of me rn I'd probably still finish the whole bag cos the flavor's good. Also, unpopular opinion, but the fish skin crisps overrated in my opinion. Not fishy enough and just mildly salty.
Hi JOLLY! Actually you can now find Old Chang Kee in London, at Covent Garden. They sell curry puffs and nasi lemak. Slightly bit more expensive (at £2.80 each) than in Singapore (about £1) but it's a good compromise whilst COVID is happening and Ollie can't come to Singapore *cries*. If I may, London also has some fantastic Singaporean-Malaysian food places where you can go get your Singaporean food fix. Perhaps film an episode on Singaporean food. I love watching your episodes where you share korean food with your guests and would love to watch you'll eat some Singaporean food too. My personal favourites in London: 1) Roti King near Euston Station (Mee Goreng, Roti Canai/Murtabak/ Roti Prata, Beef Rendang, Char Kway Teow, Catonese Hor Fun and Kari Laksa) - this may be the furthest from you but it's very very authentic and popular among the Singaporean/Malaysian students 2) Rasa Sayang at Leceister Square (Nasi Lemak, Rendang, Oyster Omelette, Hor Fun) - this is nearer and just as good 3) C&R Cafe & Restaurant at Leceister Square (Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow, Laksa) 4) Bugis Street (they have one at Gloucester Road and another at High Street Kensington) (Laksa and Chicken Rice - nuff said) 5) Singapore Garden at Swiss Cottage - i've never tried this place but have always heard good reviews. maybe if you're in the area you could give it a shot. Also, when COVID lifts, please do find a chance to come to Singapore. I'd love to bring you around and let you sample all there is to Singaporean cuisine. Stay safe in the meantime!
Hey Jolly and Jollybeans ! I don't know if you have already test it before. But you should try the crisps brand called Bret's. It's a brand from France (Brittany) and they have some of diffetent tastes that are incredibly amazing. Like Aïoli, Mushrooms, Yakitori, Jura's Cheese (Comté) and others that are also incredible. Hope see that soon on your channel ! Big thumb's up from a French.

Malaysians: *TRIGGERED*
Triggered Malaysian here XD
Same, a TRIGGERED Malaysian here
HEREEEE
Lmao same
Wasn't Mamee Monster from Malaysia?
I always smiling watching you guys, i don't know why but thankyou so much
Wonder which is the best of them all
Singaporean but haven't tried all these yet😅
Foreigner living in Singapore for 3 years now here...I felt bad for not having tried all of them...but apparently I'm not alone haha
i think the hainanese chicken rice tbh, it's q heavily salted la but there's that ginger after taste
I'm a Singaporean but haven't tried many of those lol. Ghost pepper mamee sounds like something mala-tasting. Old Chang Kee's famous for its curry puffs - the crisps are a recent innovation. Where are Irwin's salted egg chips? Thought they'll be in the running. xd
Enjoyed watching the SG special ep. Ollie, you should come to SG to try our food. 🤗 Also, thanks Josh for promoting our cuisine! 🤩
Of course they'd like this rendang - it's crispy. Heh.
Will we have another rendang war between united kingdom and united melayu?
Crispy rendang! It exists!!
I see what you did there! Hahahaha
underrated comment :p
Master, fucking, chef.
okay now i wanna travel to Singapore just to try their chips, the range is just amazing.
Beef+Salad+Great service from the waiter+Romantic music 😂😂
I can’t with Ollie😭
This was so funny to watch and that little cheeky slang "ALAMAK" at 5:40 as well 😂😂😂
6:25 Olie: "It's a trifle too much truffle." * chuckles * "I've been inside for a long time." To which I must say... no Olie, you would have said that otherwise also 😁
Ikr 😂
10:15 I rewatched this so many times HAHA "Alright, show off" omg xD
There were so many funny moments here but I laughed the hardest by far at the reaction to Gabie eating the "spicy" snack while trying to feel the spice hahaha! The difference between her and the lads is hilarious! Alpha wife indeed 😉👍
Josh: "It doesn't taste of anything."
*Famous last words*
Josh's pun game is STRONG in this one! :D Love, from Singapore. This is such an entertaining episode! AND WE GOT TO THE 3RD POSITION ON HALL OF FAME! I hope we stay there :D
i feel like sooner or later they are gonna have to make a compilation of gabie coming in to taste what they feel its really spicy but ended up being ok with it and then happily leaving~ XD
Hahah the part hot pepper got to them and were looking for -what water??- and then stuffed other chips in to drown the heat, hilarious! Great vid! They should also try Aroma Truffles… those chips were really awesome full punch on the truffle
i literally went "OMG OLLIE" when he just engulfed the whole packet of spicy mamee😭😭😂😂
I admire your effort translator MIso Kang! You're the unsung hero. Thank you!
Tiny SG with toooo “many contenders for the World Cup.” That’s why “they are getting their own cup.” Uhhuhh we are a nation who love our foods! 😋
Old Chang Kee sells mostly pastry. A famous local brand. Meadows is a house brand of Cold Strorage, which is equals to Tesco of UK.
omg Mamee from Singapore?! well played well played👏👏👏👏👏
@Mock Mehh
It's from Malaysia tho, but whatever
@@victoriac.5552 woooosh
@lalalalalalalalal567 oh I get it now sorry I didn’t get it before I’m so stupid 😅
@@victoriac.5552 hahahaha
I never noticed the alamak on the currypuff at 5:40, was blown away. Kudos to the editor😂😂

@@nhk9957 안녕히 주무세요😁♥️
as a singaporean myself, i feel proud seeing you both trying out our local snacks ❤️
The country of Malaysia will literally declare war on your channel if you make Mamee Monster a Singaporean snack. Jokes aside, excited for the video!
EDIT: Saw the disclaimer there, partly forgiven I guess :)
I don't think this is a joke. Countries have gone to war for a lot less.
@@137211941292195 lmao they r rivals
Literally. I’ve spent half of my life in Malaysia and another half in Singapore, they have a love and hate relationship
hahahhaha
Tbh, I was a bit "triggered" when mamee was included until I saw the disclaimer 😂
Ooo! Josh, you’re getting better at the Dutch pronunciation! Good job!
Wait till someone sends them all the salted egg potato chips that are available in singapore, i'm sure more minds will be blown
They did in here th-cam.com/video/KZS95mHG3FA/w-d-xo.html
I've had them, and to be honest, they're kinda too eggy for me. Like, they leave a weird sandy texture in my mouth. But if I had one in front of me rn I'd probably still finish the whole bag cos the flavor's good. Also, unpopular opinion, but the fish skin crisps overrated in my opinion. Not fishy enough and just mildly salty.
omg as a singaporean fan im so happy yall did this!!!!!!! any mention of singapore is cool af lmao idek why
Ollie in the acorn shirt just made me realize that he looks like the squirrel from Ice Age 😂
Always love waking up to see a new video! Great mood booster for my day 😁
YESSSS can't wait i've set an alarm for 78min later 🎉
Y’all really the best. Lots of love
I would say these are definitely from Singapore, but as a local I don’t really try these, I have seen them tho. It’s more of like a tourist thing
what i've been waiting for!!!!!!
macdonalds fries with ice cream and garlic chilli for the win ❤️❤️
My personal favourites in London:
1) Roti King near Euston Station (Mee Goreng, Roti Canai/Murtabak/ Roti Prata, Beef Rendang, Char Kway Teow, Catonese Hor Fun and Kari Laksa) - this may be the furthest from you but it's very very authentic and popular among the Singaporean/Malaysian students
2) Rasa Sayang at Leceister Square (Nasi Lemak, Rendang, Oyster Omelette, Hor Fun) - this is nearer and just as good
3) C&R Cafe & Restaurant at Leceister Square (Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow, Laksa)
4) Bugis Street (they have one at Gloucester Road and another at High Street Kensington) (Laksa and Chicken Rice - nuff said)
5) Singapore Garden at Swiss Cottage - i've never tried this place but have always heard good reviews. maybe if you're in the area you could give it a shot.
Also, when COVID lifts, please do find a chance to come to Singapore. I'd love to bring you around and let you sample all there is to Singaporean cuisine.
Stay safe in the meantime!
Mamee Monster products of Malaysia 🇲🇾💪prouddd Josh and Ollie , thank you for trying one of Malaysian all time favourite snacks😍😍💞
SaveTheDates Channel It’s in the category of Singapore tho :(
@@serenii9016 its fine honestly, it just proves that malaysia's snacks can be so good that a Singaporean sends it all the way to Ollie and Josh ✊🏻😌
Sei Zureii fair enough but some malaysians are gonna be very pissed off, I’m not really pissed though just a lil disappointed
