Dear Teacher Johanna: Your drawings and paintings are so adorable with ENDLESS wonderful and beautiful small elements. Indeed, Teacher Johanna is the best of the best Teacher. Love your drawings very much. Super Outstanding and Awesome. Thumbs up.
Greetings from New Zealand. Years ago I used to get your email newsletter. I didn't do TH-cam way back then. Then I got really, really ill, and cancelled all emails and subscriptions for everything, because I was just feeling so overwhelmed by them all, and not being able to get to them. So fast forward about 7 yrs, I have been quite well for a year or so now, and started doing TH-cam about 2 yrs ago. I have started getting back into my art recently, and have taken up colouring, so subscribed to a couple colouring channels, and every one of them, your books are in their top 3 favorite artists. Of course I immediately remembered that I used to get your email, and that I loved your work. So naturally, I have gone online, bought 3 of your books, and found you on TH-cam. Wonderful to be back, and doing your tutorials! 😊 I love listening to you talk, absolutely adore your accent. Cheers.
I'm in New York City and I definitely drink quite a bit of tea, but I'm realizing that I tend to have tea at home and coffee when out, and now I wonder why that is. 🤣 I love this page!
I just loved watching you draw these!!! So much fun! You are an amazing person...so genuine and funny! Love you Johanna! XO I can't wait to see the new book....would love coloring something like this!! Have a great weekend. 🥰
My small business is called Time For Me Teas (organic herbal tea), so I jumped on here so fast when I got the notification as I really want to create my own thank you cards for my orders 🥰 I love these teapot designs! Kate xx p.s. I say Art-ee-za 😄
You are doodling designs on the teapots very finely and and with much dedicate. Love that Johanna. Great fun indeed... it's a nice theme and have lots of scope to be creative here.
How have I missed your you tubes? I love your coloring books! I love drawing, especially miniature items. I love most miniatures. I’m hooked now! Love your accent!
Teus vídeos são tão gostosos de assistir...meu inglês não é muito bom, mas consigo entender algumas coisas... Meu amor pelo colorir veio de seus livros. Parabéns pelo talento.
Isn’t it funny how words change from different places, I smile when I hear you say a wee something, when we say wee’ it’s because we have been drinking too much coffee or tea and need to let it out so to speak. I was born in Birmingham UK and emigrated to Australia when I was 25. When I was about 11 or 12 in a geography lesson the map of Australia seemed to leap of the page and I knew then with absolute certainty that one day I would be there. I came here in 1974 so have been here longer than anywhere else. I am 73 this year in July, I have missed family but overall I am glad to be here. I married a dairy farmer in 1999 a huge change for a city kid, but I soon blended in, milking cows, rounding up cattle on a quad bike, etc., we are retired now still on the farm it’s quiet here most of the time and the weather is beautiful most of the time when it’s not tooo hot. It can get up to 45 C here in the summer, mostly in the mid to high 30’s I still find it a bit hard to take even after all this time. Spring and Autumn are the best months here for me anyway. I love your art, I have all your books, colouring is my thing now, I do enjoy listening to and watching you on you tube.
It is funny how in the several videos I have watched today, you always talk about drawing everything out in pencil first, then going over it with the ink pen. My Introduction to ink pen drawing was through zentangle first, then sketching and urban sketching, and they all teach to always draw in ink straight away, never do it in pencil first. But they are stressing the importance of embracing mistakes and imperfections, and of course, that is very different than this kind of drawing - especially if it is for books for publication. It was just interesting to me, the two opposite approaches.
Arteza reps pronounce it Ar-teh-za, as opposed to Ar-tee-za. I don't think they really care too much, as long as they keep selling products left and right. 😊
She has several - A Secret Garden, Ivy and the Inky Butterfly, World of Flowers, and more which escape my mind at the moment. Go to Amazon and search for Johanna Basford, and her books will pop up.
Thanks that was great. Just one thing why is your background back to front seeing the words on your books etc like looking from a mirror ?? Stay safe x

She has her phone’s camera in “selfie mode” when we see her face. That’s why any print is mirror-imaged.
birdhouse
Why?
To much detail for me
Get out the Verithins! 🙄
