Lovely Review - Especially for people who never used a food slicer!!!!!
My mother had a food slicer when I grew up & I have been looking for one that wasn't too expensive for quite some time now.
Of course when Lidl had it for £49.99 a few months ago I was completely broke so I couldn't get it
Then 2 weeks ago I learned that Lidl sometimes does a Warehouse Clearance Sale & there they had the SilverCrest Food Slicer for not even £28 & I have been super happy with it.
Of course before I had the SilverCrest Food Slicer I would use the slicer at Lidl when I would bought a loaf of bread, but if you only slice as much as you need with your own food slicer the bread stays fresh for longer because if you buy it pre-sliced all those slices dry up individually.
So if you buy this one, or any other food slicer for that matter, you might have to force yourself to stop slicing the bread because you might be like me & are so excited that you wanted to continue slicing things =D

I was exactly the same and used to watch my nan use her slicer all the time.
When I first started using mine it was so easy and fun I was slicing too much bread and veg 😅. It’s such a handy gadget to have 😊

Great review. I want a food slicer but Wifey says no! Saw one of these 2nd hand for sale on eBay, so searched for some reviews. eBay seller was asking for £50 inc. P&P so they can take a hike - I'll wait until Lidl have them in again!
We prefer to make our own bread or buy the fresh uncut loaves so we’ve found this really useful.

Why nobody tried to cut the lowest width? How does it work at the most used 1 mm?
1mm seems to work best for meats, such as ham and salami, and it works well. We are finding 3mm is the lowest we need it for our own use )) Thanks for stopping by :o)

You'll find it easier to use, if you stand at the other end and *push* the food through the blade.

@@Mandyglen I scrubbed it up until it was like new. It's pretty good, it cut slices nicely. I would say it is best for cutting things like pork loin or beef topside and not so good at meat that tends to fall apart like pork shoulder. I am going to get myself a nice piece of beef tomorrow and make super thin slices for days of sandwiches :)
Brilliant. We use ours mostly for bread but found it great for things like beef too. We also like to make apple pie and can get the apples nice and even 😊

I think anyone can cut carrots, cheese etc why didn't you show its main purpose ' MEAT ??
Thanks for your comment. We bought this mainly for slicing bread and have found it great for cutting veg in a more uniform size for even cooking. At the time of making the video we were meat free, sorry, but I believe it is great for that purpose too.
totally useless product.
We this quite a lot for fresh bread and meats.
