I would say people are finally waking up and not buying these overpriced, reliability prone vehicles. It makes perfect sense that people would go with the smaller vehicles because of affordability in this current economic climate. I own ( I do not owe any payments on it) a 2016 WRX Limited with a CVT transmission that runs great I plan on keeping it for as long as it will last. I do my own oil changes, tire rotations, filter changes for the most part, and it runs great and has been a great daily commuter. With all the economic factors you mentioned in this presentation, it makes perfect logical sense that are people are choosing smaller vehicles that may fit their needs.
Toyota keeps shooting themselves in the foot regarding customer needs. I told the 2 local Toyota dealerships I wanted to purchase a Toyota Camry LE front wheel drive. Toyota rarely sends these dealerships Front wheel drive cars. The few front wheel drive cars the dealerships come with mostly a black exterior color one that I would never buy.
Why would i buy now vs waiting for early release 2025 models to show up in a couple months and drive prices down further? 90k for for expedition is ridiculous. Could Benz SUV or land river range river for that money before covid taught dealerships and factories they could jack prices up by unreasonable amounts.😊
I test drove the 2024 Crosstrek, 2024 Outback, and 2025 Forester yesterday. Hated the CVTs. Not bad at low speed but wind out super fast and kill power during heavy throttle.
We have a perfect storm here. We have entered a second era of malaise where even Toyota quality has fallen. Couple this with high inflation and here we are. BTW, EV sales are up worldwide by over 20%. We are a fringe market until better EV offerings are available.

EVs are not the problem, crazy high end up market models across the board are the problem. EVs are typically only sold with higher end trim, you can't get a base model. This is increasingly the case across the ranges. All manufacturers are heading for the high ground, they all want to have a sales book like Ferrari - huge waiting list for a small number of very expensive high profit cars. Go figure.
It looks like the dealers are pushing the cheapo econobox vehicle. If they sell like hotcakes manufacturers and dealer's will start to increase the econobox pricing as well. At 30k plus for a economy vehicle it is just too much. Now I am supposed to believe 30k plus is a bargain because the average price is 47k. Thats 47k for a normal decent vehicle, all these prices are too high. The higher prices for cars and their parts result in increased insurance rates across the board. That 36% average msrp increase you mentioned is an eye opener. No wonder my auto insurance increased by the same amount.
Toyota sold 78,454 Tundras in 2024 that is 31.34% higher compared to last year. Until there are buyers who blindly throw money at Toyota, dealers will keep their prices far higher from MSRP.

Are Tundras not selling? I watched a video on truck sales, and it showed Tundras way up in sales. With the recall, now I can see that changing.
A Subaru Outback wilderness is the bargain at the mid thirties if you’re looking for space, MPG, and have fun on the trail on weekends l!
I’ve considered getting one a couple times in the last year or so. Especially like that Geyser Blue 👌 super unique.
Still can’t find a raptor R for 10k mark up.
It's funny that you say trucks are being discounted. I've decided to go with the new Ford Ranger Raptor. I've called, emailed several dealers here in NJ. Some willing to sell at MSRP, some want to add a $5k dealer markups. Truck is selling well and Ford can't keep up with the demand right now. Factory orders are taking 8 to 13 months for delivery time.
How about 5 to 10k off a base model?
Great video. Very informative. I like the multiple dealer comparisons. You articulated very well. Look forward to your next video.

Are you serious ? A Nissan Rogue has a1.5 3 cylinder engine. I would buy any used car over this.
Getting a vehicle 14% mark down when the vehicle was first marked up 30%-40% is not a good deal 😂
That Black Tundra actually looked pretty good…not a huge fan of that big grill. But I liked that one
I used to love the Toyota Venza when the 3.5 V6 was available with a real 6-speed transmission
Here’s the thing, for the Ford Expedition or any vehicle, you don’t need the top of the line. Why pay $90k for a Ford Expedition when you can get one of the lower trims for less money. We have a special needs child and will need to switch to an accessibility based minivan. Just to get a basic Toyota Sienna that’s been modified will cost $94k. Now that is absolutely insane but we know the benefits of having.
I get it, as a people, we like nice things but at what cost? I hate how the car market is making it challenging for people to buy vehicles but we also have to be willing to play the game and really stay below the budget of what we’re paying. Just my thoughts.
The problem with Subaru is they are putting CVTs on most of their cars. No thanks.
Yeah not a fan of CVTs 👎
@@UntamedMotors Yeah! Everything except trucks and medium to large SUV's that can be used for towing. I'm keeping my old SUV's and car with geared transmissions.

All automakers got super greedy and now they are paying for it. This is not just a one automaker issue.
Dealerships are all greedy
Was surprised by I like the Forester. The white looked good also. It would be one I would consider if I had fewer kids. Overall, things just seem so out of whack. The vehicles people want are priced out of sight now. I run an engineering firm, and I can't justify paying 60k for a new F150 any more. Just doesn't make financial sense.
Hey, just wanted to give some feedback on your channel- Great content- I have watched lot of your videos and have learned somethings about Toyotas-
I’ve just bought a 2013 FJ Trail Teams Cement- maybe it was one of your 😂-
Stay blessed brother!
I like your videos Tam !
@@mikeprzlomski2092 thanks a ton brother! =] appreciate your support!
There is nothing left on the line of credit on their homes today, not even for a cheeseburger, much less for a super overpriced vehicle or jewel with wheels.
Tundras aren’t selling because they are dumpsterfires…
hey man, I’m looking to get into this as a side hustle during college.. I’m just wondering how profit if actually made, I don’t see how to make money when you have to “reinvest” profits to buy the next?
Car prices are still way to high. Let the dealers pay the interest on their floor plans another year. Prices will then start to come down.
I would say people are finally waking up and not buying these overpriced, reliability prone vehicles. It makes perfect sense that people would go with the smaller vehicles because of affordability in this current economic climate. I own ( I do not owe any payments on it) a 2016 WRX Limited with a CVT transmission that runs great
I plan on keeping it for as long as it will last. I do my own oil changes, tire rotations, filter changes for the most part, and it runs great and has been a great daily commuter. With all the economic factors you mentioned in this presentation, it makes perfect logical sense that are people are choosing smaller vehicles that may fit their needs.
How about prices for 2023 tacomas or 2024 4 runners? Any discounts on those?
Is the new Expedition worth it?
Even if they drop the prices 20%, they are still overpriced junk.
I don’t blame you. I’ve never liked the CVTs either 🤷♂️
$100k for a 3/4 ton truck that's bare is crazy
Good video untamed thanks
Stop calling them dealerships, they are accurately known as STEALERSHIPS!
We have a perfect storm here. We have entered a second era of malaise where even Toyota quality has fallen. Couple this with high inflation and here we are. BTW, EV sales are up worldwide by over 20%. We are a fringe market until better EV offerings are available.
95k for a ford expedition is just insane period
People are not buying Get it !!!
Right now is the best time to buy??? Over inlflated prices with discount that doesn't even bring the car down to what we used to pay, you aren't evwn adressing the high interent rates?????🤦🤷 How about wait for the car market to crash and buy really low with better interest rates. Industry plant
Because interest rates are bad most dealers are forced to offered very low incentivized rates to move inventory -like you saw in this video.
The new tundra is exceptional
And how many have been repo'd vs. the last 5 years. Yeah thought so.
*I have been going showroom to showroom for the last one month, new cars are poorly built and overpriced. To top it all I have had horrible experiences with sales teams. The only memorable visit and test drive was a Tesla and that also because there are no humans in sales at Tesla - all robots & Ai*
So my next new car will be a Tesla M3.
I appreciate you sharing that, thank you. Teslas are 👌
That new Hyundai Santa Fe is absolutely hideous!
The Chevy Trax/Buick Encore has 3-cylinder Turbo engines, the same as the Bronco Sports. I like the looks of the Trax, but no thanks! I doubt the longevity of a 3-cylinder Turbo!
No matter what you pay...your still overpaying!

Yes, price cut on new, newer vehicles
However, long term maintenance
Is a bigger consideration for me
EV and small engine turbo
Any brand
Just not worth the disposability after 36,000 warranty
Considering maintenance the next 60,000mi to 100,000mi +
To maintain over 6yrs to more +
Yes affordability Now
Price cut + low % rate
These EV and small engine turbo attractive deal
CAFE / Manufacture / Dealership
Drives the market and consumer consumption
I get it ...
The future of vehicles
Just junk quality engine, transmission,
Fit finish
So yea the future is bright with rose color lens on
Remains me of the market crashes of
