@@MystOfMythology I think what you are doing is amazing. What you really have nailed is your pacing is great, It makes the information so easy to digest. The music mix volume is perfect. There but not overwhelming. Your inflection is very good as well. It feels like your are talking to a friend.
@@MystOfMythology Huge fan, and rooting for you all the way, as I know you're aware. You've asked for feedback since switching to your own voice (which I love) .. so I just want to offer some (hopefully) constructive criticism. It feels like you changed the script writing to adapt to your reading them, or how well you think you can voice the script (which you can do better than you think). It's a bit ironic that the a.i. voice delivered more emotion, and often humor, then what you're delivering now. I definitely know that you're still getting your feet wet here, but (and I know it's hard) you have to trust that the regular viewers here love you and what you do. Write for yourself the same way that you wrote for the a.i. .. have fun with it. Enjoy your own writing, because it's awesome. Right now though, it's just too static and like a list of facts. I don't want to hear just your voice, I want to hear your laugh too. But especially your emotion. I'm not trying to create pressure. I love the content still. And I'm not asking for you to take acting classes or force emotion into it. Just to trust yourself, and your audience, and give yourself the chance to deliver the same emotional delivery that you (incredibly) got the a.i. to do. It's all _you_ in the end. You often deliver some thoughtful and poignant truths at the end of your videos, and I always thought they were a real reflection of your character. Don't be afraid to let go and share those feelings through your own voice now, because it was always _your_ voice that came through from the beginning. I hope this is taken well, and in the spirit of encouragement that it's meant to be. Sorry if it was over the top. You're the best, and I'll support you to the gates of hell. Death gods be damned.
@THE-X-Force, this is precisely what I need. You've been one of my earliest and most generous supporters, so I always know you're coming from a good place. Hearing the finished video back, I agree. 'static' is a generous word. Hearing my voice back as a recording has been eye-opening - I never realised how deadpan my voice was 😂. I finished recording my next video on Tuesday, and I think it's a little better - and that's always been how I approach new things; don't wait for perfection; do a little better than last time. I genuinely appreciate you, @THE-X-Force. If you're ever in London, I'd be happy to buy you a pint or two. Thank you my friend, Eddie
😂 Thanks Leigh! Ahem, found? I think you’ll find they were generated and edited by none other than your mythology host. 👨🎨😂 appreciate your support as always Leigh .
Well done as always Sir. I understand your original use of an enhanced voice. But, you yourself have a very good and clear story telling voice. Cheers from Boston!
The Grim Reaper is the second strongest boss in most Castlevania games. You can defeat him,but he always returns in the next game...kind of a good depiction, since Death will inevitably claim you no matter how hard you try to avoid it. (Interesting in later Castlevania games, the Grim Reaper's HP was 4444,I heard in Japanese believe the number 4 equals death).
First off I did like hearing your voice, good accent. You made the names and words more approachable and they rang something in my memory because of hearing them said as I first heard them. Second you made me want to do some more research into her. I know you couldn’t tell everything in 20 minutes. The history of how she started with the goddesses that was morphed into one feels like I should find out more about this little slice of Irish history. Thank you for enlightening me on what to study next. 🤔 I do know her name I just don’t want to butcher the spelling and I don’t know how to put those curious marks above the letters in the word, although it might’ve been kind of humorous 🤣
8:57 You mention that the Greek underworld is also named after its ruler lik Helheim. However, you forgot to menton the Underworld has three regions to it: Elysium, a paradise for those who were good; Tartarus, a black pit for those whom did bad; and the Asphodel Meadows, where the majority of ordinary souls would reside after death. I do love that you really did a lot of research and had to cram in soo much information.
That was very good, but what about India? Did I miss something? What about Maya? What about Kali Ma? What about Lord Shiva the Destroyer? You missed a whole part of Asian death traditions in the Indian subcontinent and surrounding areas.
It’s a perfectly good question. I’ve decided, at least in the early stages of my channel, not to directly cover a few of the larger religions. A few of my peers have faced issues on their channels doing so when they were smaller, with some not being able to continue. This doesn’t mean I won’t in the future.
@@MystOfMythology that makes total sense. Hinduism is also rather complicated- see Lord Shiva. Also, I just want to say that I'm a Goidelic Pagan, and when you cover an Mórrígan as affiliated with death, you should probably really cover an Badb more. I mean I'm just suggesting from a practitioner's perspective. I think you did pretty well, and your pronunciations all around weren't half bad. I've watched some of your content, and I like it. Keep posting good stuff!
@@Aedra101 sure! Goidelic Paganism is the Paganism of Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Mann. I know that a lot of neopaganism references the deities of these places and sort kinda the traditions, but they're actually very specific. It focusses on the lore and the language of the three islands. There are a couple of authors I could recommend: Morgan Daimler and Lora O'Brien. Ireland managed to kind of be the record keeper because the monks of the early Medieval period wrote down the lore. We know from the language, that it is shared among the three places. So thank you, Ireland. All three focus on the Tuatha De Danann and settling of Ireland and the surrounding areas.
Baron Samedi is quite interesting. He seems raucous, mischievous, & he supposedly tries to keep children FROM death when possible because of their potential. Izanagi & Izanami were like Orpheus & Eurydice.
The research for this video really opened my eyes to how at first, these beings can appear malevolent, but more you understand them, they are simply a part of nature. And yes there are many commonalities across pantheons.
An ominous topic - the gods of death is a fascinating topic. Do you have any I may have missed or a different perspective from what's been covered?

Who's the first?
Dracula,he is almost always the final boss,in the storyline the Grim Reaper is actually Dracula's servant.

I prefer your real voice to the ai voice, makes the video seem more genuine 👍, also great video
I appreciate that @standupenfight2815! And I hope to improve it over time. Thank you.
Very interesting video Mr Myst, so many variations, but also so similarities around the world 🗺️
I totally agree @office-zombie-UK - it's probably the core value that draws me to mythology.
In some native American culture they have a ancestor. Or spirit animal lead them to the other side.
I'd prefer that. I've been told my spirit animal is either a panda or wolf (by different people), two very different animals.
Right vary different @@MystOfMythology
@@MystOfMythology I'd say it's a wise owl, and that owl's animal spirit is a cuddly kitten.
