I was starting to wonder if they were ever going to start flowing water from the ladder

"Fully involved" is never a term anybody wants to hear associated with an occupied apartment building of all things. I hope all the occupants/residents got out okay and can find some place to go. What a rough xmas for all those folks.

In an occupied building, how does a fire reach such proportions before it is discovered. Fire travels upwards, so it is unlikely that it started 9n the roof area.
Are these apartment building stacked with disused flammable furniture and mattresses and all the fire separating walls compromised.?
The city surveyors need to inspect these buildings regularly and demand actions that prevent these fires in the first place.
I seriously wonder if these fires are set deliberately by the owners of the buildings to get them refurbished and made habitable via the insurance monies. What happened here seems to have little other explanation, since the fire appeared to have multiple origins.
PS, I am a retired public building designer and surveyor, (London UK) and we had a few similar fires back in the 1970's. They were all deliberate or caused by gross negligence. It is sad when people are allowed to live in these conditions.
Grenfel tower is a completely different story and was caused by gross criminal negligence during it's botched refurbishment. The fire was entirely outside the building and literally cooked it's occupants.

@@wilsjane I would go as far as saying it was negligent homicide given the extreme policies put in place by the government. I still feel heads needed to roll over that fire.

"Fully involved" doesn't even come close to a term anyone wants to hear. "With entrapment" is the ultimate blood rushing feeling you don't want to have or have to hear.

The apt had multiple violations at this point the owner is getting big money and the families aren’t being helped on having a place to permanently stay, plus the firefighters are like a mafia it took about 10 min later to come and it took them about 30 min to start spraying water since they supposedly weren’t able to pump the water out they had to have the whole apt burn at that point and the amount of hrs they were there for helps them gain more money shit is crazy but the families will be rewarded with something better things happen for a reason

Do they ever pull a Hose up through An exposed building, then use it from a side window on the Fire building?.In this Case it looks to be a good option since the exposed building is Catching a lot of fire..

That was one nasty fire. The fire was already coming thru the roof, which meant it was already in the walls and spreading thru the floors. Not to mention the the contents of each apt.

Knowing it was Christmas time, if anyone had an actual real Christmas tree a pine tree that if not watered properly can catch fire quickly could have been the culprit. As much as I like the novelty of a real tree I feel there's so many dangers it poses to people.

Feel sorry for all families that lost everything, so horrible. I'm no expert, but at 9:07, the ladder rig STILL was throwing water 🤔, why? From arriving, the ladder 'should have' been the 1st to move into place and pumping WATER at the blaze from just ABOVE the flames verses GROUND crew between the left side of the 2 buildings 😱. I didn't see any ground crews working the front of the building either until later 🙄. Ladder rig in proper position at front, GALLONS of water would then travel 'downward' giving a better chance of water on the structure bc last time I checked physics means water doesn't travel upwards 😎. At 12:04 the ladder in front finally started the water but 12 minutes?
