    It seems the pipe/wire Clippers just got added with the newest patch with a function (like moping or sweeping)!

      Yeah that's true, although I don't think you can drag them out to a large area so there may still be a use for pliers.

    it's really fun to see the devs add popular mods

    Another I see used a ton is tile material visuals. It shows the material a tile is made of with different textures of the tile. Nice for catching accidentally making tiles out of the wrong material

      I've seen that too but I'm personally not a fan. But that's what's so great about mods, everyone can play how they want!

    Great videos! I would love to see one for background buildings such as tempshift plates and drywall.

      @GCFungus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks! That is an interesting idea, and I know both of those buildings cause confusion but also have important uses. I'm not sure right now how to include that in my series plan as it's probably not significant enough to make a dedicated video for - I'll have a think though.

      @@GCFungus if the algorithm is still pushing Shorts, it seems like they might be a great option for individual "make use of" or "try this mechanic out" feature vids on a small'ish sub-series

      me too! I'm still confused on how the material of the temshift affect the result

    Good stuff! Nice to see a tutorial on modding since I'm fairly new to it

    I was hoping for this video only to find out that you already created it. Sorry for commenting ignorantly on your other videos. I really enjoyed it. I am a bit new to the channel but I'm still discovering new vids. I don't have the time I want to check everything. Again, sorry.

    Quick question.. why do you have a preference for using Liquid Locks, over using a mod that adds an actual functioning airlock to the game? I know it adds an extra item to the game, like you said you try avoid, but it removes kinda a silly feature from the game that only serves as annoyance that otherwise only exploiting odd game mechanics fixes?

    • @GCFungus
      @GCFungus  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I don't see it as an annoyance and for me it is simply a result of the fundamental game mechanics of 1 element per tile. Traps like this also exist in real life, so I don't really see it as an exploit. Plus I find it fairly straight forward to make them reliable, hence why I don't use airlock doors. Also as I mention in the video I prefer keeping the gameplay more vanilla, and that certainly helps from a tutorial making point of view.

      Thanks for the heads up - I suppose this is the risk of making any video on mods in that it will always eventually get out of date...

      Yes, I have been using it for a while with no issues, although patches can always break the compatibility.

    how can i use mods without steam?

    • @GCFungus
      @GCFungus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can add local mods that will be in MyDocuments>Klei>OxygenNotIncluded>mods>local (you may have to add the local folder. Then you can download mods online, but they will need to be manually updated this way.

      I'm afraid I've never used a mac so can't give you any guidance. If it's any use, the windows folder is located in Documents>Klei>OxygenNotIncluded>mods>local.
