Guava (Psidium guajava L.) is one of the important commercial fruits in India. A number of plants. Nowadays farmers are following high density and ultra-high-density methods in Guava cultivation for higher yields. But today Nematodes problem is the major issue in Guava farming.
In present Guava cultivation a new species of root-knot nematode i.e. Meloidogyne enterolobii is an emerging problem and wide-spreading now across the country.
To control Nematodes experts found that the application of FYM @100Kg, neem cake @250g, nematode egg parasitic fungus Paecilomyces lilacinus @ 25g and carbofuran @60g per tree at an early stage of nematode infestation is very effective. But the results are temporary relief for farmers. Nematodes devastation is going on guava cultivation.
Mr. Sabari Nath, A. Konduru farmer of the Krishna District has found the best Method for Nematodes control in Natural farming Methods. He is cultivation 3acres of Guava cultivation in the Ultra high-density method. From the first year onwards he was facing Nematodes problem. After so many trials he was succeeded to prepare bacteria culture for Nematodes and also prepared fruitfly traps and sucking pest traps at a low-cost. Let us look at his experience in Guava Natural farming.

తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లో అధిక సాంద్ర విధానంలో జామ సాగు విస్తీర్ణం గణనీయంగా పెరుగుతోంది. ఎకరాకు 600 నుండి 2వేల మొక్కలు నాటుతున్న రైతులు, నాటిన 3వ సంవత్సరం నుండి ఏటా ఎకరాకు 15 నుండి 25 టన్నుల దిగుబడి సాధిస్తున్నారు. జామ సాగులో దిగుబడి, ఆదాయం ఆశాజనకంగా వున్నప్పటికీ సమస్యలు కూడా అంతే వేగంగా విస్తరిస్తున్నాయి. ప్రస్థుతం జామ సాగులో నెమటోడ్స్ సమస్య రైతును వెన్నాడుతోంది. కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో దీని బెడద ఎక్కువవటంతో తోటలు తీసేయాల్సిన పరిస్థితి ఏర్పడింది.
జామలో నెమటోడ్స్ నివారణకు సులభమైన పరిష్కారం కనుగొన్నారు యువ రైతు శబరి నాథ్. కృష్ణా జిల్లా ఎ.కొండూరు గ్రామానికి చెందిన ఈ యువ రైతు 3 ఎకరాల్లో అల్ట్రా హైడెన్సిటీ పద్ధతిలో జామ సాగుచేస్తున్నారు. పూర్తిగా ప్రకృతి సాగు పద్ధతులను అనుసరిస్తున్న ఈ రైతుకు తోట నాటిన దగ్గర నుండి నెమటోడ్స్ బెడద పెద్ద సమస్యగా మారింది. దీని నివారణకు అనేక పద్ధతులు అనుసరించిన ఈ రైతుకు సంతృప్తికరమైన ఫలితాలు లభించలేదు. అయినా పట్టు వదలకుండా స్వయంగా ప్రయోగాలు చేసి నెమటోడ్స్ నివారణకు బాక్టీరియా కల్చర్ తయారుచేయటంలో విజయం సాధించారు. ప్రస్థుతం ఈయన తోటలో ఈ నులిపురుగుల బెడద లేదు. శాస్త్రీయ అంశాలకు స్వానుభవాన్ని జోడించి సాగులో విజయం సాధించారు. పండు ఈగ నివారణకు అతి తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో ఫ్రూట్ ట్రాప్స్ ను స్వయంగా రూపొందించారు. రసంపీల్చు పురుగులకు అడ్డుకట్ట వేసేందుకు జిగురుపూసిన అట్టలను వాడుతున్నారు. సహజ సాగు పద్ధతులతో జామలో ఎకరాకు 25 టన్నుల దిగుబడి సాధించవచ్చంటున్న ఈ రైతు అనుభవాలను ఈ స్టోరీలో తెలుసుకుందాం.
