    Hi Scott..
    Thanks for the video...
    Yes some of these objects sound good..like pulltabs..
    Old and new...
    I must've dug about 10 of them on Saturday...
    I didn't have much luck on this baseball field...2 pennies and a nickel...
    With my month old nox 900...
    I'm feeling a bit discouraged...

      Those places can be hit or miss (no pun intended) keep at it. The 900 is a great machine. I need to start using mine again.

      Will do! I might hit the beach this afternoon...

      I had to comment, being. A new detectorist myself. I am going to hit the beach tonight, but honestly, I slay in parks. Not much jewelry but at this rate, I can buy my own with all the coins I collect. One of the most important and most valuable lesson I've learned from all the TH-cam videos I watch, is learn the sound/tones of your machine. I have been focusing on what I hear over what VDIs I see displayed.

    Not sure and i am typing this before the end so dont know. But is your machine in 5 tones?
    I use mine in All Tones as the 900 seems better that way unlike the full tones on the 800.
    I am not sure but i am not convinced on the Manticore. I haven't seem any vids that make me feel it is better and i have seen vids that make me think it needs updates on things. Things like dealing with Iron and number stability. If i buy the Manticore i think it will be a while yet. I need to see it prove itself.

      Thats fair and a lot other folks feel the way you do. Nothing wrong with that.

    What about on a pebble beach, what beach setting would you have it on?

    • @MentalMetal

      Not sure, I've never been on a pebble beach.

    Great video just curious why the VDI isn’t stable at all, especially air test.

      I have a lot of EMI in my garage so I'm not surprised to be completely honest. I have several wireless networks running and its a hot mess in there which is why I have to turn down the sensitivity all the time.

      But when he is Swinging the Just Junk Target's and the Junk Jewelry the VDI is All over the place and the Broken Signal Tone's is another Clue about the target, but then the Tone's are the Best to help with the Decision to dig and it's going to be a Little Different on the Targets that are in the ground.....

    I’ve found a small 10k gold ring that displayed 10. I find pull tabs that range anywhere between 28 and 48. Zinc is all over the place. Dimes in the 90s and quarters in the 70s.
    It seems to like dimes. I dig those at about 10”. All of mine are on a salt water beach.
    Be prepared to dig everything above around 10.

    Went to 2 beaches in Florida and did not even find a nickcle. Watched TH-cam and set up the same. Could I have a defective detector? Just rec'd as a gift and first

      Give it time, you are also hunting at a bad time of the year.

    Scott, appreciate all the testing you’ve been doing on both the 900 and Manticore. 👍🏼
    question for you: excluding ferrous targets, how do the VDI’s of non-ferrous targets compare when swung over both the 900 and the Manticore? Are they close to the same VDI’s?
    After further thought, it probably depends on the operating mode and the frequencies each mode uses that would cause the same set of non-ferrous objects to have slightly different VDI’s on each machine.

    • @MentalMetal
      @MentalMetal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does depend on the search program but they are pretty close for the most part. At least from what I've witnessed from air tests.

    So essentially anything under 20 isn’t worth digging

    • @MentalMetal
      @MentalMetal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes certain types of small gold may hit that low, best to dig everything IMO on the beach.
