Extremely helpful thank u.. I have 99 tahoe 167k miles don't think fluids ever been changed besides topped off, I ordered a filter and gasket but I'll try this 1st n move forward from there.. she ain't slipping or anything the condition I got vehicle in from my Inlaws was bad they only topped fluids off or changed fluid when engine light comes on the owners manual is there for 💩 an giggles 😃
Awesome thank you! Yeah definitely don't flush it if it hasn't been done on a regular basis since new it will possibly cause your tranny to slip then your screwed! Good luck and have a great summer!👍😊
Try taking a empty gallon water jug and filling it with 1 quart of water and marking it every quart. And just use that to measure what you took out of vehicle.
It'd make good sense to measure what you siphoned out and put back in that same exact amount. If you need to put in a quart of some transmission fix-it-fluid, then allow for that fluid swap. Just don't overfill, or you'll have to siphon a bit out again.
It’d be great to know where you got the hose to get down into the dipstick tube, how you attached it, and how far you put it down the dipstick. Did you put the skinny tube down into the dipstick tube down towards the pan?
Unfortunately you still have fluid in the pan, I think I mentioned that it does get the majority of the fluid but not all, you would still need a collection bucket underneath to avoid spillage. Thank you for watching!👍😁
I did this on my truck recently. But the last time I used my siphoner I cleaned it out with water. I used it months later and there was a a little moisture in the tube and I pumped the fluid in anyways. Will it be ok?
Yeah a little bit of moisture won't make a difference, you'll be fine, I would use that siphoner strictly for transmission and not worry about washing it out everytime! Thank you for watching!👍
@@WhitehouseFarmVet I forgot to mention there was crud in the bottom of my redline container when though it was opened I don't know how that could have got on the bottom?
I try to do this every year. Its helped tremendously, just don't forget to eventually change the filter out.
Awesome! Thank you for watching!👍😊
Changing the filter is a good idea, so I'd change it that way at least every other change.

Can you do that and then drop the pan without making a mess?

what kind of siphon are you using
