I’m usually not a big fan of overpowered MC stories (not you mob psycho never you) because I find they frequently have a tone of “everyone is obsessed with this one dude because they are the super chosen one and just Better Than Everyone Else” and it just feels kind of one-dimensional? HOWEVER this world building sounds interesting (it reminds me a lot of Magi with the hunting Majiks to acquire their power) and I’m in love with Ichi’s character design, he basically got a magical girl outfit and I love that for him
Ngl I didn't even think of Magi but yeah you're 100% right, the art is just something special too (with recent chapter especially) and honestly Ichi is already a really fun character, compared to other OP Protagonists who are SOOOOO boring outside of just being 'strong'
Judging by the Gojo-looking Male Witch we saw? Ichi isn't the chosen one. He's also not OP. That frost witch? She's OP. She is icing over an entire forest. Ichi can't do anything like that. He CAN however, locate a sentient Mushroom among a sea of Mushrooms. Which ironically is more useful than blasting ice into the land. However, that's the greatest extent of his abilities : Ichi is a hunter, he ain't much of a fighter.
I think we shouldn’t count out the series like Undead Unluck, Kagabarachi, and Dandadan in regards to being part of the new big 3. Since they’ve been around for a while now, I feel like we can’t expect a brand new series to become huge when shounen jump has the biggest turn over out there with this quickly it axes series

Anything within the line of shounen/adventure is going to be put in that category because people simply don’t know how to think of anime without glazing it. It’s like they need to overglaze the status/ reputation of an anime just for it to seem better than what it really is…..
This is a bit like the Adventure Time episode where Finn and Jake had to complete tests to acquire magical abilities at a magic school. (At the end of the chapter their robes are destroyed and they lose all the power they gained)
Getting the gender wrong of the artist is so funny to me cuz she was related to one of the most insane manga controversies out there (a very successful up and coming manga she drew for ended cuz the author committed a really bad crime). I genuinely thought everyone knew about it
