  • No More Roll Overs with the Arrma Granite. I simply widened the stance by replacing the stock suspension arms with Typhon Arms. In the front I went with RPM arms. Both work well. By adding some Pro Line tires it’s even wider depending on how much offset the adaptor offers.
    Parts needed to widen your Arrma Granite.
    • Stock Typhon 3s Rear Suspension Arms Part # ARAC9066 Front Suspension Arms Part # ARAC9065
    Alternatively: you can use RPM arms ( RPM80762 Front A-Arms) (RPM80842 Rear A-Arms)
    • Stock Typhon Rods. AR330470: Rod Ends AR330515: Pivot Balls AR330542: Steel Turnbuckles (6) Complete set part number ARA4306V3
    • 1/10 6x30 Optional SC Hex Adapters (12mm ProTrac, 14mm & 17mm)
    • 1/8 Trencher X F/R 3.8" MT Tires Mounted 12mm Blk Raid
    The suspension arms listed above are compatible with Arrma Granite, Typhon, Senton and Big Rock
    I really didn’t think it would be very helpful to do a complete video on the process because it’s relatively simple. The main thing is to stay organized and keep your hardware in a logical arrangement so that you know where it goes.
    ► PhillyB RC has a great video showing in detail how it’s done.

    WOW, thanks alot for the shoutout!!! I totally love the Bigfoot body on the Granite, I've been wanting to do that as well! This mod is a must for the Granite, this is still one of my go-to RC's! Thaks again , have fun.

      Thanks for watching PhillyB_RC .. I need to repair this video. For some reason I messed up on the edit and it repeats the first section. It's raining today so it's a good day for that. Something I really like about the Granite is that it's easy to work on and does great off jumps.

      I think most of the on-road touring cars, drift cars, and MINI-Zs are popular in Japan.
      However, recently, off-road buggies have become more popular, and more and more people are enjoying modifying them like me.😊

    I think 55 hrc is the perfect hardness for heat treated steel . Still hard and not so brittle . I’m a knife nerd too so knowing the steel and the benefits of what type and heat treated steel. The powdered metallurgy steel is when they actually use different powders during the making and it’s compressed and then rolled . The improvement of powder steels is that the molecules are lined up uniformally amd more compact . More good stuff and less filler . 👍

    • @RCRoads
      @RCRoads  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very interesting. So much goes into the process. I really don't know that much about it but where I used to work we had a metallurgy department but they mostly dealt with aluminum and titanium. Experimental stuff in some cases. Many years ago I was certified to calibrate large ovens but transferred shortly after to greener pastures. Way too much paperwork and responsibility.

      I know what that’s like . Glad you’re happier 👍. Man l just today o got one of these from a fb local marketplace . Total luck , just posted and I rarely look . Last time I looked I got a k6s bnib v5 for $400. That was three months ago . Today I looked and saw bnib Granite 3s BlX v3 and it was looking brand new . $200 with an extra set of tires . It was either this or a big rock but I just went through it and it seems good . Hopefully I don’t melt thst spur gear . Me and my brother were thinking the best possible arms for RC cars would be made oit of the best flexy plastic that is solid infused with like Brillo pad steel fibers , a lot . More like Brillo pad steel fibers infused with good plastic 😂. The idea came from the plastic weld kit with the steel pin pieces that get heated into the broken pice for ridgidness but we like to use the Brillo pad fibers . They hold so much better . Of course the soapy part is off the steel wool but when that stuff is mixed with plastic it makes a formidable plastic piece we thought.

      @@Hungrybird474 You got a great deal on the Granite. It's a super nice truck that's easy to work on and easy to get parts for. It jumps just fine and it's good for doing front flips with the short wheel base. I like the idea of using steel fibers in plastic.

    • @RCRoads
      @RCRoads  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Hungrybird474 It does stay upright more. I can't remember if I changed out the shocks but I have taller shocks and it jumps fine. Short wheel base of the Granite is good for flips. 👍

    How is the truck after a year ? So curious what wears out and not a fan of plastic gears in any way . Good heat treated powdered metallurgy steel is always best imho for longevity and toughness .

    • @RCRoads
      @RCRoads  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the Granite gets a bad rap. Mine has held up exceptionally well. The fan on the ESC went out from dirt and rocks. The drive shafts were loose from the factory but that was an easy fix. Shock fall apart but the rest of the truck has held up real well.

    • @RCRoads
      @RCRoads  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No problem. Thanks for watching. I have tried a few different turnbuckles that had aluminum rod ends and they just don't hode up as well as the stock Typhon ones. My granite came with fixed links that were non adjustable so to compensate for the length I bough some no name ones and they just didn't hold up as good as the stock Arrma Typhon links. The actual rod lengths for a Typhon is M4*48MM on all 6 rods. The only difference is the steering links as they have shorter rod ends. So having a couple of extra rods is good if you ben one. I just like how well the stock rod ends and pivot balls work and hold up. I tried to reference the overall length of the Turnbuckles without any luck but I did measure mine from hole to hole and that was 78mm. So basically look for something that will adjust to that length. Best of luck. The RPM arms will definitely help with roll overs. @@GM_Mack

      It seems to perform the same with flips. I usually don't nail the landing either way. I did manage to pull off a double front flip and land badly but the Granite has no problem flipping even with the Typhon arms..
