One thing we as black people should understand and know no other race will ever accept us, we should build Africa to be a super power, that's the only time we can have a say in this planet

Africa isn't only black. The fact that even black people are ignorant enough to treat africa is as if it were one giant country just because most people are black, which is concerning
Being black from algeria isn't the same as being a black Senegalese!
Skin color doesn't magically you all the same.
We have black Muslims, black Christians, animists, atheists, different beliefs, cultures, flaws, and strengths...etc.
And believe it or not, lots of black people dont like black people from other ethnicities.
Looking similar doesn't mean being the same or loving each other. Look at japan, china, and korea !
Also, I am an amazigh. we come in all shades of skin, and we are genetically closer to each other than you would be to someone here despite them being black and me white ! ( and yes, I am native North african and white )
We have to erase racism and black people have to feel welcome everywhere. This earth belongs to all of us !

This is true, also most of Easter Europe. I traveled to Turkey and then shot up to Poland and had a great time. Except for the having to keep an eye on scams, the people and the experience was great. That being said, I'm a white asking Hispanic that looks white, while my cousin is brown skin hispanic. He faced discrimination and just like you, he wasn't allowed into some clubs. He's used to it and said that some places will hear his American accent and do a 180. Unfortunaly, I think it's because they associate being white with Europena or America, ie, rich. It happens in Mexico too, I'll get treated a lot better by staff, than my brown side of the fam.

I've been to Istanbul a few times. Had a great time. Each person's experience is different and depends on what activities you do and the people you interact with. It's a good idea to join expat groups, meet-up groups and there are groups where Turkish people seek English speaking friends to learn English. Start with building friendships with people that can lead to them introducing you to a larger circle of friends. Don't expect most Turkish woman to sleep with you after a few hours/few drinks at a bar. Ain't going to happen. Turkish women in Germany are more "liberated" and might. But in Turkey they worry about social peer pressure and appearance.

Omg! That happened to me twice in instanbul airport and once in Bodrum, the immigration officers in the cubicle will look you straight in the eye and not respond to you when you speak to them. They just seat there staring at you watching you talk to yourself. 😩😅 Almost like an intimidation tactic. My husband was approached by a airport/military officer carrying a big gun just to intimidate him while we were at departure in Bodrum, we were the only black people in the queue. This was at the entrance of the airport when you first put your luggages through the scan machines, wasn't even at check in. The male officer was aggressive towards my husband while the 2 other female ones took turns to drag our luggage off the table and threw it on the floor. We were shocked, they were working together to intimidate us while talking and laughing in turkish.. We are blacks with EU passports, I say that because many of the Americans are in denial cos they haven't experienced stuff on this level when it's blatant and direct in your face.

The host of the video spoke about the scamming there. I have gone through the comments and not too many people are mentioning that. Why is this?
Not too many people know how it is to be black. Many black people can notice if they are being treated differently. So please don't gaslight black people when they are claiming a certain country is racist. Instead of trying to shut them down, investigate what they are speaking about. Just because you may not be racist doesn't mean that other people aren't. I believe some people still are saying America isn't racist. It is insane to think in that way. I will admit, America has gotten better though.

    1. It’s normal for clubs to be couples only because there are many fights in Türkiye due to someone talking to another person’s girlfriend, and the clubs don’t want trouble. So it is not because of your race, it is because you are a bunch of single guys, and they really don’t want trouble. Respect the local culture.
    2. Bar crawls are different because they have a group leader that can speak with you in English and have at least some control. Most Turks don’t speak English.
    3. The so called weird looks aren’t because of discrimination, they’re because of curiosity. Also you happen to look like a local football (soccer) player. Yes there are many black soccer players in Istanbul and they’re paid extremely well.
    3. The Ethiopian girl got in most likely because she is working (woman of the night).
    4. There are many issues in Istanbul due to working girls as well as people dealing substances. Unfortunately most of them are from the Africa.
You are being very unfair and dishonest.

Best thing then were all the other places in Turkey. I arrived from Iran so got to see parts of the east. Social media popularised travel to types of people that would never travel to places like this before, people like yourself for example. In the 90s only Germans went to Turkey, Americans, Brits etc didn't go to such places. That's why Istanbul and so many other places are the way they are. Now to have an authentic experience you have to go to places even further off the beaten path.

@@omo0910curious what racism you experienced in those cities? People were staring at you, and what else? Fyi. Turkish culture is very interesting. Known for great hospitality, welcoming and a friendly mature. I dont know why or i cant explain why but in turkish people, staring at foreigners is somewhat a thing but i guarantee you that it is not racism or hatred. People look at white blonde tourists too. I know for a fact that men usually stare at female tourists but imo the reason is because it's a conservative country and men usually make believe westerners are more open sexually. Yes the staring can be annoying but dont tell me they did not answer your question because you are black...as anywhere, you will experience some cultural shocks but black americans always twist everything to race. Btw, i have lived longer in the US than Turkey. I have many black friends, dated black women and i too have my own experiences. Now i never attribute some of those experiences as racist though i understand i shouldn't based on historical facts, i simply ignore it...

Exactly. So many famous football (soccer) players in Türkiye are black. He went to nightclubs and wasn’t allowed in because he was a single guy or only with other guys. Well it’s the same everywhere in the world even in Los Angeles, they don’t let in single dudes. Nothing to do with skin color or hair color or whatever. Come with some girls and they’ll let you in. They just don’t want people harassing the girls in the club and fights breaking out.
