the quality of life in Nairobi is slowly going down for the general population. estates that used to have roads dont have them any more, public transport is horrible with long lines. traffic is crazy, theft is high too, down to just trusting your employees, and most people dont want to admit, kenya is not a politically stable country, so as much as all he says in this videos is true. the negatives are alot too. if you retire in Kenya RETIRE RICH!!👍👍

The retirement visa is expensive. The class K permit (retirement visa): Processing fee (non-refundable) KSH 20,050
Permit fee (after approval) KSH 250,050 per year Alien Card KSH 5,050 per year. Every year I would have to pay roughly close to around $2,000 US dollars for the renewal. That's surprisingly High. I actually haven't seen anything like that. And I looked at all the Central and South American countries and Southeast Asia. Also a minimum annual income of $24,000 from pensions and social security. That means minimum 2k US per month is what you have to prove. To me just doesn't make sense when I compare it to requirements in countries in those regions. The typical SS is around $1700 US that means most US retires are automatically disqualified to get the visa. For those who want to stay regardless may just have to go for the 5-year multiple entry eTA and just do the Visa runs every 6 months.

@@monicamwaura399 Kenya has very high Government fee. Also, the fees were raised last April from KSH 100,000 per year to KSH 250,000 per year. That is a challenge for many applicants, and I understand if you might be opting for another country.

With real estate you'll hit a jackpot! Gated communities is a great deal. Serviced apartments for Airbnbs and expats on the move is always a good investment. With a thriving middle class and a good pool of multinational expatriates, Nairobi and other Kenya's major cities are a magnet.
Just do your research and due background deligence with a reputable attorney and you'll never regret.
